Good luck and thank you for rescuing an endangered species! I still have my black on black leather 84 Scirocco I bough {my first new car} and it only has 14.7K on the odo. My "winter beater" is a 63 bug (it has a gas heater) and the Scirocco is my summer/show car. Whenever I think about letting the Scirocco go to a new home, I'll take it out for a run, it's so much fun that I forget about selling it. I'm sure you'll love yours too.
@@Leakyvws oh sick, I'll try that out. I've never done much to the engine bay other than vac it out. Do you have to pull or cover anything besides the battery?
@@THE_BUNGL3R yours probably isn’t too bad so I’d just try spraying it down with some quick detailer. That’s all I’ve ever done with my newer cars. It can get dicy spraying water on all the electrical connectors of new cars. But if you do decide to do it like this I’d definitely disconnect your battery and cover the alternator with a bag. Just lightly mist everything and it should be alright
@@petergearing4796 this car is definitely getting euro bumpers. I actually prefer the US lights over the euro ones for these cars, I just like the symmetrical look
@@Leakyvws Fair play, personal preference is the most important thing. I owned a '85' 1.8 8v GTX in the UK and absolutely loved it. I will admit, more so than my mk1 and mk2 GTI golfs. Take good care of her and I look forward to the finished project.👍
I prefer the u.s spec headlights because from the front view it looks like a Delorean but the u.s spec huge heavy park bench bumpers have got to go, they are hideous asf.
Sick car!
