I go there every year and I absolutely love it, I go there with my uncle, grandma, my mam and sometimes my dad. My uncle would bring his little V3 locomotive. My grandad absolutely loved it there, I hope he looks down and watches next time I go
I've seen some videos in my time. but your view on this this subject is outstanding. id like to say a big thankyou to you as it is always a pleasure to watch an see. especially Wigan. were i helped a friend to pick up his new engine. and meet some of the nicest people I've meet in years ( Jason ? ) i think. such a grand layout in the grounds of a beautiful ole house that the council now own. many many thanks to you sir atb T one
Impressive how these guys can actually build miniature steam locomotives that are strong enough to carry the weight of 1 or possibly more full scale human beings. I’d love to own and operate 1 of these little 7.5 gauge railways in my own yard with many original/rebuilt versions of the Bulleid Pacifics Merchant Navy and Battle of Britain/West Country classes.
I really love the attention to detail on these loco's . Just one thing though, there is a diesel on here that I have never seen before, black with eight driving wheels and red connecting rods. Can someone please tell me what this is? Other than that, I just love this video.
@Stuart Cambell-Frazer, the locomotive you mentioned is a British Rail 10100 which was an unusual experimental diesel locomotive known informally as The Fell Diesel Locomotive.
I could imagine that there was some ash that was dropped out of one of the engines. Since the weather conditions seemed quite hot the guy probably extinguished any spots that could have caused a fire.
The reason the track was being watered is not due to fire risk. It was a very hot weekend and the expansion joints had fully expanded and the track was at risk of buckling so the watering was an attempt to cool the track so it would contract.
Is it any wonder that the railways lost goods traffic to roads? Those 4 wheel goods wagons are so small, why where larger cars not adopted earlier in the U.K?

Great video of what was clearly a superb event; thanks for posting!

Magnificent event, excellent filming and camera-work.

Verflixxte klixx!!! 😍
Spectacular video love it
Great video - well put together
Some big guys being hauled by these little engines.
Michael Richards I like the guy that says what am I pulling here. He must be 15 stone. Lol
Anyone know the top speed for these sorts of things? Could operate as a nice little passenger route between rural communities 😂
ManeringMr. Thats an idea
Wow ! my sort of day out, love it
verflixxte klixx man

Hope to go there one day!
from the size of some of these guys, those trains gotta be powerful
4 gauges? what are they?
there are way too many thumbnails of old men straddling miniature trains in my recommended list right now
The thumbnail looks quite realistic apart from the gigantic man sitting on the engine haha XD
I have driven the engine on the thumbnail it is called seagull and is a 5 inch gauge a4 built to works drawings.
Hello people, i so wanna know where this event is. Im from holland and i sure wanna visite this awesome place when i am in the near. Hugs
Were these locos scratch build or kits Either way I'm in awe of the Skill involved in building them
most of them will be scratch built..
Amazing!
I like the videoa
Nice video....
What kind of locomotive was that at 4:30?
It's a model of a British Rail 10100.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_10100
Fantastic! Where do you advertise as I haven’t seen anything about the open days?
Usually it’s on the railway/society’s website
really enjoyed that👍
this is Hamburg calling!
Silly question but where can you go and run your own steam locos iv inherited 2 and live in Macclesfield does any one know of a place near me
James Crosby nearest track to you is probably Stockport
What scale is this
Another terrific demonstration of fine scale model engineering locos and rolling stock. Can someone tell me the source of the rolling stock?
Is this venue near York
These look 5inch to 7 and a quarter
Where does all the rolling stock come from for something like this?
Those railroad cars look amazing, as well as the engines.
Nice locos! What gauge are these?
Matt Seymour most of these appear to be 5 inch, with a few 7 1/4’s.
If I ever come to one of there conventions, expect me to bring a HST
ELECTRO HALO8 Er no. They allow only locomotives from the steam era. See how the diesels in it are mostly BR green?
is that kid driving a locomotive? 14:57
Also why was there a guy watering the track?
I could imagine that there was some ash that was dropped out of one of the engines. Since the weather conditions seemed quite hot the guy probably extinguished any spots that could have caused a fire.
putting out a small fire?
The reason the track was being watered is not due to fire risk. It was a very hot weekend and the expansion joints had fully expanded and the track was at risk of buckling so the watering was an attempt to cool the track so it would contract.
@@ukmodelengineering thanks for the explanation
Is it any wonder that the railways lost goods traffic to roads? Those 4 wheel goods wagons are so small, why where larger cars not adopted earlier in the U.K?
Because why spend money building one new, 8 Wheel wagon when you can use two existing 4 wheel wagons and save the time and money?
7:30 Master Roshi from DBZ? Anyone??
NO that's not a yellow Lotus 7!
Hello
I like the low level video. If you removed the adults it would be hard to tell if they were 1-1
Loved the video, but I hate the diesels.
Loved the Diesels, far too many steam.
