    A true climbers’ vid. No incongruous musical soundtrack; just the creak of crampons and the sharp peck of axes. No idle chit chat or playing to the camera. Loved it.

    Impressionnante paroi de glace dont la pente s'accroît. Elle me fait songer au couloir Chaud dans le Pelvoux. Pas d'échappatoire, il faut grimper. Bravo aux grimpeurs et au (x) cameramen.

    Superbe vidéo non polluée par une musique bien souvent inappropriée. Merci 🙏

    Une grande voie.
    Des grands monsieurs; c'est dur, ça craque : c'est les piolets ou les genoux?

    Bonito video, pero se echan de menos panorámicas, con croquis indicativos de por dónde se sube.

    incredible videography as always, who is the filmer? Does he ever use his own rope? Is he free climbing? I never see his safety gear.... anyone know?

    • @davegrenier1160

      In most of these videos the videography seems to be done by another team that leap-frogs ahead of the team being filmed. Sometimes their ropes can be seen, other times their shadows. I've seen a few tvMountain videos in which it seems the two teams join together briefly, possibly where they experience greater difficulties.

      @@davegrenier1160 and @riderwithani Yeah, I've been watching TVM for a few years now and it always impresses/amuses me the way the camerman can get into such good positions. I'm sure it makes every route twice as difficult, rrrrrespect.

    Long distances between protection....maybe you couldn’t put other anchors in ?

    • @Alexandre-nm3lo
      @Alexandre-nm3lo 4 роки тому

      fall factor is much smaller with big distances between protections. a fall with 20m of rope make less effort on an anchor

    • @Ilbriccodellorsosat

      Less distance between pieces means more gear to be carried and more frequent reunion when climbing toghether. More anchors, more time.

      Climbing conditions sounded optimal (that "steel on styrofoam" sound) and the technical difficulties weren't that great (steep, but very straightforward with bombproof tool placements). Either of these guys could have probably soloed the climb, and the tradition is "the leader must not fall," so long run outs aren't a big deal. Speed is your friend in such places.
      FYI, I soloed the NNE face of Les Courtes and the Couterier Couloir of l'Aiguille Verte in 1980, and summited Mt. Blanc twice, among other climbs in the area, so I know the territory. (And I know that sound! Truly music to my ears!)
