Coming friends.. good job mate.. great.. you get the results of the work you do.. amazing.. greetings from your friend Traditional Indonesian Gold Seeker🇺🇸🇲🇨✋👍👍
My wife and I love the North Shore. We don’t know much about rocks but we sure enjoy walking the beach’s looking for interesting pieces. We are from extreme SE Iowa so the rock exposures, Lake Superior water and the lands are beautiful.
You need one of those mini cordless jackhammers. Those large rocks have amazing stuff in them. Wow! Wish we had stuff like that here in Alberta. Someday I will have to do a loooong road trip to rockhound along the great lakes.
That was a great video! First off, I loved the B roll footage at the beginning and throughout the video. Really nice stuff. I also agree with Thomas that you need to polish that piece at 3:50. I wouldn't be surprised if that was your best find. Did I mention that I liked this video? Oh my gosh!
What a great way to start my Friday! Thomsonite is so beautiful. It reminds me of wavellite. Thank you again for teaching me something new and for putting a smile on my face. Big love from California!
Oh my !.....that is some beautiful stuff....I have never seen any around here in Iowa but you can be sure I will look for it on my next trip to the U.P in Michigan.....happy hunting !
It is very cold because it is so big and so deep, only warm enough to swim in shallow east facing places after a few days of soft east wind blows the surface water toward the west. Your fleet can go numb in 5 minutes on the hottest summer day. Yet there are people who go surfing the lake in a blizzard.
Unbelievable. Keep.up the great work Taylor. I know this is from last year, but every once and a while I get some time to invest into our work (Agates etc) and watch some of the videos you've made throughout the years, really helps me with my work. Thanks T.
Bro you never don't teach me something when I watch your amazing uploads and that big piece of thomsonite just wow you should definitely go back with more tools for more if you found your best piece in such a short time imagine what other bits are hidden as usual thanks for your knowledge brother
Super cool finds! I think I was there a day or so before or after you. I took a North Shore geology class and we visited the roadside outcrops on 61. Our instructor said on the road you cannot legally chisel the rock but anything that is already broken off is fair game. I got a couple neat chunks there but didnt have time to go down to that beach. (Not sure about chiseling rules down there)
Everytime I watch your videos I want to take a trip to the beach!! I am a Michigander and am obsessed with rock hunting. My goal is to get a home closer to my favorite beaches so I can enjoy it al the time. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
WOW!!!! Taylor you are just full of surprises! The specimens you found were stunning! I know have something else to look for when I return to Lake Superior next summer! Thank you for another great video and showing me something new! Have a great weekend!
My favorite beach again! 😊 This year was a very unusual year in the finds there as the lake was so low especially this past Spring as it opened up parts of the shore that couldn’t get to previously. I think I sent you a pic of one of my favorite pieces of Thomsonite earlier this year. It’s funny I have more luck with it than I do with Agates. Thanks for the video!
Awesome finds man love the sound of the scoop against the click clack of the rocks . I am so jealous your area looks perfect still no snow or harsh wind great day you had :) .
Omg, I spent 3 hrs. This past summer on the North Shore Thomsonite Beach area looking for some. I found a few pieces but nothing like you found. Thank you so much for this video and absolutely you should try to chisel some out of the big rock. Would love to see a video of you doing that. Also would love to see what you end up doing with the pieces you took home. Love watching you and scoopy on your adventures! You and Rob have turned me into a rock junkie. 🤣
Our daughter bought a house up there! So I'll be there soon I hope! Great video. Beautiful up there right now! Heading to Louisiana to spend a few days rockhounding with gravel bar hopper! Super excited.
I saw some amazing specimens of thomsonite at moose lake agate days! the ones with green remind me of watermelon slice hahaha! you found some amazing pieces i would dream of finding!
I have to admit ,I have not heard of Thomsonite before watching this. How is it formed? What is its mineral/chemical make up and why is it so rare? Thanks for sharing. From UK.
ive got a tiny chunk that i actually found on lake mille lacs.... also found what looked like fossilized coral. crazy to think what used to be where we live today

Same here! I’ve found some alright agates through the NSR but nothing as crazy as this.
A mini sledge and rock hammer and also rock chisel are plenty good no one is using mini jack hammers up there.
I absolutely LOVE your enthusiasm for these rocks! Just discovered your videos today and already feel educated more about rocks. Thank you!

Can't wait for the thompsonite polishing video.
You scored! Nice job, T.
I hope you chilled out some of the pieces you found. The pattern reminds me of those little paper umbrellas in some drinks.
I realize this is two years old, but still, how very cool!

What a great way to start my Friday! Thomsonite is so beautiful. It reminds me of wavellite. Thank you again for teaching me something new and for putting a smile on my face. Big love from California!
Is wavellite also considered a zeolite? I've seen some awesome specimens of it.
That is beautiful!
I have never heard of this rock before, thanks for bringing us along! ❤️

Oh my !.....that is some beautiful stuff....I have never seen any around here in Iowa but you can be sure I will look for it on my next trip to the U.P in Michigan.....happy hunting !

On the lake or in the Duluth area?!
@@AgateDad Ironwood area. Looks Beautiful.
I can see the lake in the drone pictures.
I am envious. Such a cool guy with great taste in music.
I saw some amazing specimens of thomsonite at moose lake agate days! the ones with green remind me of watermelon slice hahaha! you found some amazing pieces i would dream of finding!
Really cool stuff! Never found any myself. Definitely more rare than LSA for sure.
The radial pattern reminds me of wavelite from Arkansas.
Interesting!
I have to admit ,I have not heard of Thomsonite before watching this. How is it formed? What is its mineral/chemical make up and why is it so rare? Thanks for sharing. From UK.
I've never seen that stuff before, very cool. You might want to bring a chisel back and try to get a thick seam of it.
I plan to 🤘🤘
Now that is a mineral I would not be looking for and would not know how to identify, Thomsonite...
ive got a tiny chunk that i actually found on lake mille lacs.... also found what looked like fossilized coral. crazy to think what used to be where we live today
Awesome! Do you know if this is the same as what can be found on keweenaw peninsula?
It sure, I think so, but I’ve never been to the keweenaw peninsula
when you wetted that beauty I was so happy for you. I am only an agate hunter on the Oregon coast so no idea what you do with them. Display or??
