I don't think it's that simple. I think Mayweather and Pacquiao's bout was derailed simple due to pride and egos. There was a lot of unnecessary posturing back and forth from both sides at different times that threw negotiations off.

dela hoya knew he had a small chance of winning because of age but he showed up to fight pacquiao. hatton thought he could win, he got knocked out. cotto thought he could win, his face was rearranged. clottey knew he could not win so his strategy was not to fight--in the ring, but he showed up. margarito thought he could win, he cried when he lost. mosley did a clottey did, but he showed up. mayweather says he has too much to lose----meaning he knows he would lose, so refuses to show up. legacy?
I don't think it's that simple. I think Mayweather and Pacquiao's bout was derailed simple due to pride and egos. There was a lot of unnecessary posturing back and forth from both sides at different times that threw negotiations off.
Win or lose I would respect both fighters for taking the fight. PPV would be through the roof. Manny needs none of my respect and Floyd would get it through taking the fight instead of fronting.

Evander understands this game. There has to be a "villian" (sounds crazy but thats the way it is). Ali and Tyson had three times the followers Evander could ever dream of, and true boxing fans know they had MANY who disliked their "Character", But had no choice but to idolize their abilities (whether it was behind closed doors or not). Uhhhh, yeah he has. People watch Floyd Mayweather because he is an incredible boxer. Who hasn't he fought aside from Pac? He destroyed the guy whos had a draw, a robbery, and a knockout on pac. Judah, Hatton (before pac) De La Hoya (before Pac) Cotto, Corrales, Gatti, Castillo. Floyd is the best for a reason, he has beat the best.
emphasis, "Pacquiao is a good guy" it's funny how he said it multiple times that Pac-man's a good buy but didn't say it at all about Floyd.
50/50 for fair, manny has 8 world titles in eight divisions, he fought and won many undefeated champions..and manny has many fans than mayweather i think if u LIKE this message..

This is why i feel this fight is not going to happen.
It's ego, neither of them are afraid of each other, it just comes down to the money. Mayweather thinks he deserves more, Manny won't have it. I have to be behind Manny on this one, even IF Floyd deserves more money, there's no one else on the planet right now who can generate the money that these two can. They need each other to make that kind of money.
even if floyd lost he would still have a excellent record and it wouldn't destroy him.
