안녕하세요. Your topics are really helpful and your explanations are so clear. It's easy for me to follow. Please teach us also the rules in spelling korean words. Thank you. 😘
Hi Arah! Thank you so much for your useful lesson. I have a question to ask you about this topic... Does this dropping ㅅ in Korean irregular verbs only do for the conjugation of 아/어요 form or it has to do with other conjugation forms beginning with a vowel such as 었/았어요, 으니까, 으면서, and 어서?
Dropping ㅅ happens when irregular verbs with ㅅ meet any endings which begin with a vowel like 아요/어요, 아서/어서, 았/었, 으니까, 으면서, 은, 을 etc. However, in this video I covered irregular verbs and the ending 아요/어요 only since this is for low beginners. I will cover irregular verbs and other endings beginning with a vowel in the future. Thanks for pointing it out. You encourage me to make another video soon.😊
I recommend you use the Korean dictionary. I will tell you what you should check from the dictionary. Simply you can find the conjugated form of a verb/adjective with the ending 아/어. (Irregular verbs or ajdectives with ㅅ are conjugated differently when they meet any ending which begins with a vowel 아/어, 으, 은 etc...) If the stem of the conjugated form with 아/어 stays the same as the basic form, it's a regular. 씻다 -> 씻어 (check the link of the dictionary and find 'Application' under the word 씻다) ⬇️⬇️ me2.do/FJB9LWXo If the stem of the conjugated form with 아/어 is different from the basic form,(like ㅅ is dropped), it's a irregular. 낫다 -> 나아 (check the link of the dictionary and find 'Application' under the word 낫다) ⬇️⬇️ me2.do/5lo9YkX0 Hope this helps.😊
hello, im late but im really confused. i still don't understand on whether dropping ㅅ or not. like how to know if the stem of the conjugated form with 아/어 stays the same or different as the basic form? hope u reply 🥺
Most of verbs with ㅅ are regular which don't lose ㅅ when conjugated. But there are only a few irregular verbs which lose ㅅ when they are conjugated with the ending starting with 아/어. This is why I made this video to help students to memorize this list here ⬇️⬇️⬇️ 03:36. Hope this helps.😊

What makes to wash a different verb from to build? Why is one regular and the other irregular?
'씻다 to wash' is a regular verb. '짓다 to build' is a irregular verb.
Some verbs are regular and some are not. They are things you need to memorize. 🥲
Is there anything can help us to make differentiate between regular and irregular verbs .. I'm very confused 🤦🏻♀️
Here are example of regular conjugation with 씻다 (to wash).
씻다 + 어요 -> 씻어요
씻다 + 었어요 -> 씻었어요
씻다 + (으)니까 -> 씻으니까
씻다 + (으)ㄹ 거예요 -> 씻을 거예요
씻다 + 고 -> 씻고
씻다 + 지만 -> 씻지만
Hope this helps.😊
