Boston’s goal to reach carbon neutrality by 2050 is ambitious. To achieve it, the city needs every resident involved. But how can we, as citizens, participate in the zero waste journey? Big City, Zero Waste highlights how school administration, students, workers, entrepreneurs, volunteers, government officials and city workers around Boston are already doing their part to reach the goal. Big City, Zero Waste takes viewers to Newton, Hingham, Boston’s City Hall, and Dorchester to hear from Boston’s residents about what the next necessary steps are. This short documentary explores themes of civic engagement, responsibility, sustainability, public policy and an urgent need for action at the height of climate change.
