Blake Griffin Offense Highlights 2013/2014

  • Part 2: • Blake Griffin Offense ...
    I decided not to put all the "highlight" dunks at the beginning because there were simply too many and also because I do not want viewers to label Griffin as a mere dunker with no other abilities on the court. As you will see in this video, he can do a lot more than just dunk.
    Blake Griffin's post moves, dunks, jumpshots, spin moves, crossovers, jump hooks, step back jumpers, passing...
    Credits to the NBA, the sole owner of these highlights.
    If you enjoy these videos and would like to help make my work more "meaningful", please take a look at the following links to learn how you can contribute.

    As much as I love CP3, that month while he was injured was the best thing that could have happened to Blake. In that month, he learned how to be a leader and how to dominate the game. He averaged 31 points (lead the league), 11 rebounds, and 4 assists in that month. Those are dominant numbers. Best power forward in the league right now in my opinion.

    Great improvement. Serious skill, serious athleticism. This guy is now a complete player.

    I remember when coming into the league Skip said Bake wouldn't be able to dominate because he was raw athelticism and that wouldn't work in the NBA since he was also undersized. Well not only has Blake improved his mid range jumper, he has vastly improved his offensive skills such as ball handling, footwork in the post facing up and he can still bully smaller defenders with his back to the basket.His passing out of double teams remains an underrated part of his game as well. And that trait he showed in his rookie year. Blake is a beast and will soon be a top 5 player in the league.

    Thanks for acknowledging his growth. I hate that shit when people just call him overrated since he has grown to become more than just a highlight reel.

  • @BoxCarBoy12
    @BoxCarBoy12 10 років тому +16

    I used to hate Griffin because earlier on he was just a dunker and way overrated, but as evidenced here as his career's gone on he's really improved on all other assets of his game and become a more complete offensive player. His jumpshot can still use a bit more refinement, but overall he's impressed me.

    • @henryeastwood1132
      @henryeastwood1132 10 років тому

      I agree with you however he still lacks in major categories in this exact order; rebounds, free throws, and defense. Kevin Love averages about 3 more points and 3 more rebounds a game, hits free throws and three pointers.

    • @minkikwon2308
      @minkikwon2308 10 років тому

      he always has been a player with refined skill sets since his rookie season. He got strengths, post-up moves etc. That's why I first paid attention to him and was frustrated because the media and everything only focused on his athleticism (to the extent that they made that 'dunking over car' folly).

    • @minkikwon2308
      @minkikwon2308 10 років тому

      Clinton Henry not to mention that he also lacks in another major category called "losing", because K Love is losing about 15 more games than Blake Griffin. Whoa.

    • @henryeastwood1132
      @henryeastwood1132 10 років тому +1

      So Blake Griffin is a better basketball player than Kevin Love? Is that your argument?

      Clinton Henry
      I don't even see why you started K Love- Blake comparison lol You are the one who first stated Blake Griffin is "lacking" in several categories because K Love is doing better in those areas.

    I laughed everytime when people say BG has bad footwork. A guy can't handle the ball that well and move around that quick, with bad footwork. He just needs to learn more moves, that's it, his footwork is awesome already.

  • @devvv4616
    @devvv4616 10 років тому

    His post game is underrated cos he usually finishes with a strong dunk. Whereas most "skilled" post players finish with a smooth and easy layup. When he dunks, people assume that all he needed was athleticism when in fact he actually uses skills to get an open dunk.

  • @Parkjoonho18
    @Parkjoonho18 10 років тому

    He has all the potential. His post game this year has improved drastically. If he just learns how to read his defender in the post, and what to do during double teams, he could be an amazing player.
    I hate the Clippers and Blake Griffin, but he has talent.

    To everyone who thinks of Blake as just a dunker: look at his post moves. Look at the wide range of players he scores on/through/over/around -- Tyson Chandler, Dwight, KLove, Tim Duncan, Serge, etc. etc. He is, by the numbers, one of the most productive and effective post players in the NBA. Blake will power through most anyone, and, for those stronger than him, he'll spin, bend, contort whichever way to get the shot off. Look at the man and appreciate his game.

    • @ethanstern8659
      @ethanstern8659 10 років тому

      liukevin6 better than kevin's. honestly blake's defense is underrated too. at the end of the dallas game it was tied, and he got dirk to turnover the ball with his d. he's not great at it (maybe a 6 of 10), but id say love is a 3 of 10.

    He's improved a lot this season but the only problem I have with him is his lack of fundamentals in the post. He needs to be more aggressive, whether it is attacking smaller defenders, making his mind up faster, or leaning into his shot more. He's always fading away, even on hooks. He needs to take advantage of his strength and go up with more power.

    • @liukevin6
      @liukevin6 10 років тому

      this is because his arms are so short compared to other nba players who play his position at his height. his post game is slowly but surely growing, but has been rushed because of chris paul's absence where he has taken the leadership role.

    blake is easily one of the best efficient offensive power forwards all time, this guys is been on a wrecking streak since paul is injured, he has the handles, can rebound, can score inside and outside the paint, but is not a good defender and freethrow shooter if he improves that then he could become the best PF ever, i think that chris paul should feed him more

    Don't see how Blake is "Overrated". He's averaging 23.3ppg 9.7rpg 3.5 apt shooting 50+fg% and improved his freethrow shooting to 70%. Basically living up to expectations if not exceeding expectations of a number 1 pick unlike Bennett and Kwame
