And it made me aware how similar my story is and how many people really actually, can say, that their life has run in those same circles and I love.. That Rebecca sugar, was able to capture our realitys in such a way! How beautiful! How tragic! how well done! 🧸🧩🌱

This song spoke more to me probably than every single Steven Universe fan out there. Because Pearl and I had the same exact experience with our best friends. We both secretly loved them, cherished them, craved them, worshipped them, and they both chose another, and we can't move on. Only difference is mine's still alive. 😔
To the people saying Pearl deserved to be chosen over Greg for everything she did for Rose: Love doesn't work like "I did all this for you, so you should choose me!" When love becomes a transaction, or a debt to be repaid, it stops being love. First the melancholy, bitter sweet themes where at the begining pearl is almost smiling, reminiscing over the past, then that moment where she's quite literally on the edge, dancing on the railing (which btw is just SUCH an amazing sequence) and then the way she tosses the rose flower as she finally realises that Rose quartz is in fact gone and she's alone, it's just perfect symbolism all the way through

This song resonates in me. I can't explain how, but I have a feeling that with every crush I had and they found someone else, I couldn't move on. I couldn't move on even if I wanted to...I couldn't. I knew it was over, but I didn't want to accept that. I always question myself why I can't move on to the point where I even question my own concept of love. It's hard. It really is hard to try and move on.
There's something wrong with me if I resonate with this song more than I anticipated.

Humans eventually passed away while Pearl remained. Then, Rose chooses to pass away in a way that nobody anticipated, giving her life to create Steven. She does not even consider how the gems will handle it all when she is gone, only thinking about herself. Every single day is a reminder to pearl because Steven has her gem, but she is truly gone.
