He is missed. I was cruising thru channels and stopped as he was talking about a movie and he made me want to watch it. That's it I was hooked to old movies and watched him constantly. Rest in Peace Mr. Osborne.
I never appreciated Mr. Osborne until his health started to decline. His absence has turned TCM into a strange network of over-righteous hosts who do not seem to understand that the movies are of utmost importance, not them. Osborne always understood this. He was probably the most humble man on Earth--constantly underestimating his talent and abilities and chalked up so much of his success to good luck and being at the right place at the right time.
@@jeshkam I like Eddie, too. However, he's pigeonholed himself with the self-appointed “Tsar of Noir” schtick. I've seen him expand beyond that at the TCM Film Festivals, and he's quite good. He knows film far beyond the Noir compartment and writes much of his own intros/outros.
"Good eevening." This is THE way to pull off an epic joke. And we're his captive audience, eating our popcorn and sipping sodas. Then devouring the cartons and cups, all the while sitting on the edges of our seats. Or using the cups as, well... You know what to do. And that's what Hitch did, throughout his production career. And Psycho was the just the tip of the iceberg.
What scene is Robert Osborne in? Just watched and couldn't find anywhere. Btw the intro and out-ro here is so much better then the recent one by Ben Mankevitz. Miss Bob Osborne.
Ash Hill unfortunately although ben m. is knowledgable he lacks the warmth that made osborne special . Sure he may be nice person but his bedside manner needs an overhaul
Ash Hill: Robert Osborne is the police officer who comes in the office and requests to give the prisoner a blanket. He walks down the hallway and the officer who opens the door to the cell for R.O. is none other than Ted Knight.

When New York finally got this station I remember seeing the guy in the derby. Then it changed. Now it's almost dead. Like everything else.
