Sensation vs. Perception: What's the Difference?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 чер 2024
- In this video, Dr. Kushner provides an overview of what it means to "sense" and "perceive" something. In sum, sensation is our ability to detect information from the outside world (smells, sights, sounds) and then convert that energy into electrical signals to reach the brain for processing. Perception is the way in which the brain processes and communicates these senses to the rest of the body.

Thank you so much. I have an exam in five days and I'm struggling to understand sensation and perception. But you made it easily digestible! What a life-saver!!
You got this!
Thank you! I was struggling to get my head around this, but this was very straightforward and interesting! Hope you wont stop making those videos, you have a talent in teaching ❤
I'm so glad I discovered your excellent teaching. Very helpful! ❤

Thank you so much for making psychology so much easier to understand. I'm taking classes online and it is hard when there's no lecturing. Thanks again for making these videos.
Online is definitely challenging. So happy to help!
great explanation! I've been struggling to understand them, but your video explains everything!

Such helpful videos! Thank you so much
Glad it was helpful!
Lovely stuff
Another great teaching video 👍🏽
I would love to watch an illustrative teaching from you on neuroplasticity, and specifically how the respective structures and neurotransmitters in the brain interact during the formation of new habits and longterm thought processes.
I know I could string together bits and pieces from a number of your previous videos to tie this together...but would be pretty nice 😊
Thank you again! Neuroplasticity would be a great video. You should look up a structure called the "basil ganglia' when it comes to habit formation. Really cool stuff. There is also a great book called, The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business. I recommend it :)
This was so helpful! Thank you!🤗🤗🤗
Happy to help 😇
Damn you are REALLY good at explaining how everything works together. I'm taking a psych exam today and my textbook has everything in separate chunks so I keep forgetting the connections. This is great. Liked, subscribed, saved to a playlist, will watch more!
Glad it helped 🧠 🧠 🧠
@@PsychExplained It did! I had to really understand and rephrase some things and that helped a lot.
Thank you!!! very nice video:)
Glad you liked it!

Thank you 😊
Man THANK YOU!!🙌🏽
You’re welcome 😇
Very well done! Thank you.,,
You’re welcome 😇
Thank u so much , really appreaciate it :)
Always welcome
I have one suggestion only because this was such a helpful video - can you pause and step back when you finish sections for 1-2 more seconds, please? I have many screenshots that are about dodging your hand gestures! Oh and the Auditory Cortex is off screen so maybe just make sure that the video shows all of your writing? Thank you again, so very much!
Are there, in fact, notes produced by PSYCH EXPL. through subscription ?
Also, Could you cut my head open and just place the information I need in there while I’m sleeping. I don’t really have time to listen to the entire 20 min.
Thanks a bunch😊
You're welcome 😊
Watched and fully understood. Wooooow .. Thank you prof.... What is the next video about.. And just a quick questioning are the stimulus 3 (Eye, ear, nose) ???
Glad you enjoyed it! We take in information from all our senses (eyes, ears, nose, skin, tongue)… I just used those 3 as examples
wow this is so helpful. im dropping and like and sub to your youtube channel thank u once again.
Great! Welcome to the psych community 😎
you are amazing
😎😎😎
Where can we get complte inages of what each note-taking is explaining.? Screen shots are difficult.
Would you like a blank copy to fill in notes like a student OR a filled in copy with notes?
So memory is crucial for perception ... memory reminds me of history ...
