Like Joe Long, I have been thinking about what the season 'could have been' with key players healthy. But thanks Bob for the perspective and gratitude for what THIS season is and can be.
I was at the '73 game as a 12 yr old with my Mom seated behind the flag pole in northeast corner where it used to be. Saw hole open for Eric. Bedlam. Go Irish!
@@mjhirish84 I don't know if you remember this, but for the rest of the day and into the night, whenever the replay of Penick's run was shown on TV around the campus, like at the student center, the south dining hall, or wherever, guys would crowd around the TV and cheer it again like it was just happening.
The extent to which the ND defense let up once we were ahead 27-3 was almost alarming. Is that just a natural result of the game situation, or do even the coaches let up?
Bob Morton's analysis is always excellent!!
Excellent, insightful comments Bob Morton! The final score truly does not reflect the complete domination by the Irish. I was very proud of our team!

Crowds comparable include the 1973 Southern Cal game (Penick goes 85) & the 1988 Miami game (what can I say about that one?). It's an exclusive club.
1977 Southern Cal & 1993 FSU are additional examples. 2005 Southern Cal is the only one I can think of from the "modern era."

How bad is Spindler's injury?
