Corrections: The actor Kofi Siriboe (my pick for Gentle) is not of Nigerian Descent. He is of Ghanian descent. I said Sunspot made his first appearance in Marvel Graphic Novel #1 its actually Marvel Graphic Novel #4. Oya aka Third Lights powers are much deeper than Pyro who can only control fire, he can't create it, where Oya can. I should have said her powers are a mix of Sunfire and Ice Man at the same time. Sorry for the errors. Thanks for everyone's feedback!
I'm African Sudanese and Mexican my skin colour is super dark brown. Bishop is brown skinned like my mom. African Americans need to stop this slave mentality of adopting the colour black which replaced brown. And we all know that lie that gringos labelled our people who are clearly various shades of brown with black or dark brown hair. These same gringos call themselves blanco which means white. This is a lie and false narrative and label. They are simply light skinned, beige, pinkish and sometimes brown.
Another thing aborigines are brown just like us Hispanics and African americans. Only a ignoramus calls them black. Black is NOT an ethnicity. But the colour of our hair fun facts. I think African Americans have been washed due to slavery and the mental and physical trauma they suffered and the oppression. So to most of them e.g. descendents of slavery are brainwashed which is ironic. When they refer to themselves as the colour black. Sudan literally means black. But what most people don't realise about this word. It actually originates originates from the black colour from a flower which ancient pharaoh used in royal fabrics fabrics. Even most Sudanese don't know this unless they are very learned in ancient historical facts.
@@Apixi You're welcome. The Xmen universe is so large and extensive they could make 100 movies and never tell all the great stories in it. I just want the next run of the Xmen in the MCU not make Storm and Bishop the token Black male and female character in the universe. like their could only be one of each. theres plenty more good ones. Glad you liked the material. stick around and watch more! Thanks! ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
Thank you for the Darwin mention. It was like watch Night of the Living Dead, all over again. I remember how I felt. I've never thought I would ever feel that way again. I can't ever forgive Hollywood for that. I hate Kevin Bacon.
My favorite Darwin moment was going against the Hulk when he came to trash the Illuminati. He wondered what power he would develop. Turned out it was the ability to teleport to the other side of the Atlantic. His power didn’t want any part of that fight
Funny enough, Blink has been characterized as being Black. Her being Asian racially was a retcon I believe. You should do another one of these because there is in addition Bedlam, Radian, Nekra, Third Eye, Tag, Threnody, Angel(Salvadore), Maggot, Shatter, and Cipher to name even more Black Mutants that Marvel rarely uses.Though Nekra and Third Eye got some play in that recent Sabertooth series.
thanks for watching. I knew for sure I didn't get to everybody. I also didn't want to make the video 1 hour either, since I was discussing mini origins and live action casting ideas. A part 2 to this in the future may be in order. ua-cam.com/users/comicpower

Synch is getting PLENTY of respect in the comics lately! He has accomplished some amazing, impressive feats recently. The Krakoan Age did Synch justice!
You are right. FINALLY they have given Synch more play. Dude was around for like 30 years before they finally start to use him right. I mean his power set can really help you battle don't ya think? Thanks for watching! ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
@@ComicPower First off: I, myself, love Synch. However, his power set is kind of redundant in the X-Men when you have Hope, Mimic (or Rogue, to some extend). Still, it’s true that Marvel writers have been expanding Synch’s capabilities lately (now, his synching ability is not limited to replicating mutants powers anymore. He can now duplicate the abilities of mutates/“augmented” individuals -like Spider-Man, or the Children of the Vault even. And before, he could only do so with mutants in his immediate vicinity only. Not anymore.
@@juanansi i have no problem with 2 or 3 or more characters having a similar power. We got morph and Mystique and copycat as shape shifters for example. Im definitely curios to see Synch in live action, just to see how they handle his power set. And how they will use CGI in a clever way. Casual fans will learn how cool this power is. It couls set up some action comedy moments.
@@ComicPower True. CGI artists would have a field day with someone like him (the diffraction effect when he powers up alone should be a gift to work with for them). So, it should be interesting to see him in a live flick.
I will probably do a part two of this because i know i didn't mention them all for sure. But didnt want a hour long video either. Thanks. ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
@ComicPower Great video, man! The coolest thing about Spyke was that his power kept evolving. At the time( elementary school), I was kind of getting sick of black superheroes having elemental powers. His power was so unique yet simple.
You are welcome. The X-Men seem to dwell on about just 10 characters all the time when they have dozens of really good ones that deserve more shine so glad to make this and put a spotlight on more of them ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
Wow, I only knew of some of these. I would love to see them featured more in and out of comics, and I'm wipping this video out next time someone hits me with the ol "why all the Black characters gotta have electric powers" lmao
Yeah the cliche' that Black superheroes always have electrical powers is pretty funny. Hopefully no new ones created in the future will go that route because, yeah its been overdone. I'm glad you like the video. be sure to sub if you havent. more awesome stuff to come ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
I thought the electric powers comment was reserved for DC comics? Marvel has plenty of Black heroes who don't have electric related powers. They don't use them enough, but that's another problem.
Great video and legit good actor choices. It seems like I'm always seeing people pick the same 4 or 5 Black people they know off the dome for these roles.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate the feedback. This was a lot of work but the finished product is s lot of fun. ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
Loved a majority of the castings and listening to someone who you can tell actually knows these characters whether it was reading stories with/about them or doing your own research or both. Love seeing more XMen videos and content out and about since they’ve made their return to tv also.
See this is what I love to see. The highlighting of underappreciated comic book characters (in this instance black characters but applies to really any under used or under appreciated character.) for movie roles. I call myself a comic fan but I never heard of any of these characters so thank you for introducing me. These mutants are absolutely wicked. Would love to see more of them

Dope video, I liked most of the casting. Here's some other Black X-men characters besides Storm that you can fancast in part 2: The ones we've seen onscreen thus far: Blink (You briefly mentioned her in reference to Bling! I thought you would've put her in there. Played by Asian actresses onscreen) Bedlam John Wraith Angel Salvadore Ptonomy Wallace (He's non-canon in the comics but I loved Jeremie Harris' portrayal of him in Legion) Some of the ones we haven't seen onscreen yet: Cipher, Tag, Triage, Nekra, Decay, Tattoo, Radian, Kidogo, Threnody, Locus, Maggott, Hub, Shola Inkose, Astrid Bloom and Postman (Michael Luwoye played Erg in The Gifted TV show. Michael should've played him instead.) *Gorgeous George and Hairbag might be Black, idk if that was ever revealed about them.

Great video. Informative and great takes. As a long time comic nerd you pulled a couple names even I'd forgotten about. Well done. Gentle, Manifold and Prodigy were my favorite newish Black mutants, btw.
Good fan-casting! I never thougt of MANY of these characyers or actors, but I was very cool with each choice. Naturally I preferred JADE to be STORM, but I could definitely see her as FRENZY. Good technical and stat info on everyone we don't usually get a hard focus on as well. I'll be checking out your other works.

Nice idea. I loved this video. It would be cool if you do a video about Black Dc Superheroes that aren't John Stewart and Satic Shock. I think that it is even more hard.

Blue Marvel's origins and powers are super complicated. They could streamline it and make it like he JUST got his powers, which would be etter since retconning him into the world would be too much like Captain Marvel.
@@jerfuhrer2581 When I first Saw The Blue Marvel i thought he felt like a mash up of Reed Richards from the FF and Superman but Black. I did enjoy his backstory, about being in the 1960s and forced to retire because America wasnt ready for a Black Superhero. I liked his role on the Ultimates. I am surprised Marvel isnt using him more in modern comics. ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
@ComicPower Yeah. But throwing him back to the 60s in the MCU would be weird. Like, that's right in the middle of the Civil Rights movements. And THE most powerful hero of the time is a black man, so rather than standing proud and public and giving black people a beacon of strength and hope, he chooses to keep himself a secret so white people can feel good about themselves because nobody is making them think they're not the strongest out here? That's so stupid! Even if he's like "OH, my existence would turn riots on other black people!" Why stay hidden from 1960 to 2030? That's the same reason Magneto can't be a ww2 survivor in the MCU. Why sit around doing nothing for 70-80 years?
I would love if MCU did magneto with his acolytes and we got a good frenzy in there, she was my favorite of the acolytes. Also, having Bishop having imaginary conversations with Shard would be neat too see also, the Bishop 4 issue mini from a long time ago and the X.S.E were really good

Dropping in to show some love for Maggott. I loved his look and he was a great example of "mutant powers as a curse." Even other mutants were sometimes shown to be put-off by his mutation.
Look out for a part 2 in the future. There have been request for spotlights on Maggot, Spyke and some other really obscure characters in the Xmen universe which i eventually will do

You made me realize that there are more (mostly) black characters in the X-Franchise than I thought. Still, I'm a bit disappointed that the main core characters I can recall immediately are Storm and Bishop. Maybe Sunspot and Darwin, but they don't exactly have the staying power of the first two. I don't know if I'm disappointed with myself, or the series...

There are literally hundreds of mutants in the Xmen universe but they focus on about 20 of the most famous ones. Its hard for lesser known ones, especially Black ones to stand out. The fans of these characters have to speak out loudly that they want to see more of them to force Marvel to spotlight them more. This video is part of that effort
Did you mention that M or Monet St Croix has already been in live action? She was featured in the small budget and overlooked movie Generation X, played by Amarilis, who was also in the 90's teen show, Sweet Valley High.

Other black X-Men and mutant characters that you forgot are Shola, Hub, Pathway, Goblyn, Windshear, Murmur, Centennial, the Bedlam brothers (Jessie and Aaron), Shane Shooter, Maggot (who ironically was intended to be Australian Aborigine by his co-creator Scott Lobdell, but was changed to South African by Joe Kelly after Lobdell had left the book), and John Wraith. There were also a couple of black characters from the X-Statix series and the African speedster from X-MEN TAS and Spyke from X-MEN EVOLUTION.
since this video was so well received. I will probably do a part 2. Since i was discussing mini-origins and casting choices for fun, doing everyone that ever appeared would be like 30 minutes or longer. those take too long to make. So will come back to part 2 in the future. thanks. ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
I loved the list. I could of sworn that bishop’s dad was of African decent specifically though I could be wrong. I also love that marvel has been using more of these characters lately. DC really needs to take a look in their archives and use some of their original black characters too.
What happened was that Bishop and his sister Shard where known to have a grandmother who looked a lot like Storm. So people assumed it was her. The Bishop siblings are the kids of Burnum and Kadee Bishop. His confirmed great grandfather is Gateway. So officially we have no known African ancestry for Lucas Bishop. In saying that, DC is lazy af in using its Black characters. For years they only seemed to care about John Stewart and Cyborg. they finally started to use Nubia. They still act like Bubble Bee and Vixen dont exist. thanks for watching and sub if you haven't hero.fandom.com/wiki/Bishop_(Marvel)

@@ComicPowerAlso, whilst the Claudette and Nicole autism stuff was very 90’s in depiction, the idea that they see their sister defend them from their monster of a brother making them wish to emulate her strength to the point that they become her? That’s some really good stuff there.
Lately Synch has been getting lots of “screen time” in the Fall Of X story, specifically Dead X-Men. It’s been fun to see him in a crucial role. 😊 Also, Maggot. He’s worked with Magneto and the X-Men a few times.
That is correct. he is getting more shine. Glad to see that. More of the characters on my list need a bigger spotlight as well ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
I love Jade. I think she has potential to be an action hero in the future but right now, she has zero acting experience. Absolutely nothing beyond Wrestling. MCU Storm may be the most complex and layered role from a Black actress in the history of movies. You need someone that exudes the skill of Angela Basset but younger. I think Jade is like The Rock, who played the Scorpion King in his first movie role. Something small and doesn't have to be a lead or have a lot of dialogue out the gate and grow from there! sorry your disappointed but those are the facts!
Ah no Maggot? He was one of my favorites from the Onslaught era. His power was unique. Wish they hadn't killed him. Though he gave one of his maggot things to some kids who then got kidnapped by Sinister, no idea what happened after that. Celia was one I always thought was interesting. Someone who at least when introduced absolutely did not want any part of the superhero stuff, which is why she just went by her regular name. Thought she died in the same story as Maggot though. She appeared in a lot of various stories but never really in the forefront though in many ways it kind of makes sense for her character. Been a long time since I read much X-men. So, I have no ideas what's going on anymore. Started reading comics in the 90's Fell in and out of reading them in the 00's as money did or didn't allow. Kind of stopped in the 10's. Too many 'big cross over event' stories for both Marvel and DC, just made it too hard to keep up and the excitement really started to dwindle. It felt like a lot of the stories i was interested in got pushed aside or ignored for bigger ones, even when I thought that they were part of the big story. I'm sure at least most were resolved at some point but the way they did events made them hard to follow sometimes and sometimes writing team switches meant you never got proper closure for some things. Sorry, that turned into a bit of a rant/ lament.
He got better. He's been active in the Krakoan era in the comics. He popped up most recently in Dark X-Men #1-4 (2023). Surprised he got missed out, to be honest. They made a big deal about him during his debut (Uncanny X-Men #347, 1997, written by Scott Lobdell with art by Joe Madureira - and yes, I recited that from memory 😂). Along with Marrow and Cecilia Reyes, Maggott was one of three new (or recently introduced, in Marrow's case) characters added to the X-Men roster during the Operation Zero Tolerance crossover.
@@ContinuePlayMag That's good. Did they ever resolve the thing with the kids that he gave one of his maggots to? The last I saw them was Mister Sinister torturing them while reminiscing about when he first encountered Captain America, Namor and the original Robot version of the Human Torch. I really wanted to know what happened with that, but it seemed really spread out, and probably resolved during a time of me being to broke to read comics.
I'm not 100% sure but it could be Cecilia Reyes she wears her hair in that style in the comics. Rewatch this video if you want a visual to compare because i do spotlight here.
Exceptional Video fam...lemme get that off first. Secondly? A few points. I'd have Tristin Mays play Monet, because she's a dead ringer for some Monet portrayals. Oh and shout out to you for including Tempo's fine ass.😍🤣 Anyways, all thirst aside, you got Maggott and Cecilia Reyes too; Cece has been big in this current arc. Plus Apocalypse and his family. Shit his wife Genesis DEFINITELY looks Black.
Thanks for watching. if you missed it I did include Cecilia Reyes in this video. my pick for her would be Alycia Pascual-Peña. She starred in the reboot of Saved by The Bell reboot in 2020. Any Black mutants i did not talk about in this video, I will do a part 2 in the future. ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
Nice casting. I would love a series of movies with these guys in them.... but... at the pace Marvel is going with the X-men, we should be looking at Nursery and Pre-school casting these roles. It will be quite some time before Marvel get's around to casting Black actors to play Black X-men in the MCU. So let's play a game of WHO might they cast in the next few years (pre-2030) from this list Storm - technically not listed above, but that's because she goes without saying, but I didn't want to go without saying Frenzy - she could be a black mutant goon for Magneto or Mystique Sunspot - his profile has skyrocketed, especially post X-men 97 Bishop - highest profile 'black' character in X-men after Storm Everyone else I don't see likely happening even within the next 10 years, probably never. I'm all for color blind casting ESPECIALLY for the X-men, besides a small handful most of the X-men could be any race and I'm okay with that. But it would be cool to see the actual black X-men play a bigger role (especially as the X-men are a metaphor for civil rights)
Thanks for watching. I know these characters (besides Bishop and Sunspot) are so obscure that it would be in the deep future of any of them show up in Live action. But it was fun to play with some casting ideas. Thanks for sharing. Very informative. The term "Black" is being stretched here, though. Almost all the characters mentioned are multi racial or of some general Afro decent like a lot of people in the world and that generally, would not consider themselves "Black." The list of characters that would identify as Black would be a lot shorter. And that's sad from a comic book company from the U.S. that can create any kind of X-men they want, even ones with a Black U.S. origin. 🤔
I know what you mean about some people of afro descent not indentifying as Black. They can say that all they want but if they are in America and get pulled over by the Police. guess what they are Black then aint they? LOL thanks for watching. ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
@notyme I get what your saying the more reasonable and proper thing for the creator to say instead of bringing the police into everything would be that the characters alot if not all have a multicultural/bicultural and multiracial or just black background and very much appear some level of black whether or not they are just BLACK and that he feels the need to call them black instead of multi-racial biracial colored or mix is because they are some part black
@@nyiab I am American. and in America. If you got Black in you. YOU BLACK. I didn't make the rules. Kamala Harris, Barack Obama, Tiger Woods, Lenny Kravitz are all biracial but what do they call them in the media. they call them BLACK. remember I did state that the Sunspot character is from a Black father and a White mother. I never denied he was of mixed ancestry. But what got me going is why the heck was he played by a straight up White guy in the New Mutants movie? They completely White washed him. @@ComicPower I get what you're saying better it's more on the part that we're the only county that still upholds the one drop rule but your video is well-researched and put together I also hope the character gets portrayed better instead of the lazy and racist casting they gave to us
every character here except Storm and Bishop are supporting characters that have never headlined a title and have appeared here in there in a whole swath of X-Men titles. The X-men universe is so huge and confusing in its continuity, its hard to tell you were to start.. Cleopatra was portrayed by an actress that's like 15/16 white and lighter than a sorority white girl after spring break. Like she was light bright and dam near white.
So I came across some info around two and a half years ago. Bishop is a character that was created by Whilce Portacio a Filipino artist. He wanted Bishop to be Filipino because obviously in the early 90s there was maybe 10 black superheroes how many Filipino characters existed in Marvel comics? Zero. For some reason the X-Men editor rejected Whilce’s proposal to have ONE filipino character and surprisingly told him to make him black. So this is why Bishop had that Achey Breaky Heart Mullet. Whilce didn’t bother changing the look of Bishop which is why he looks like a dark skinned juiced up member of the singing group DeBarge.
You are not wrong. There is evidence that Bishops co-creator intended for him to be A Filipino. But in the creation process things happen and they fall a certain way to have what we have. I talk about the complicated weird creation of Bishop and how he is claimed by so many different ethnicities and persons of color in this video. Watch if you have 9 minutes and comment on it. ua-cam.com/video/nOhEBLAak-Y/v-deo.html
If you think about it a little, Manifold's abilities are similar to Trafalgar Law's from One Piece, just more limited... for now. I'm glad that I know about and remember all of these characters! They each need a major push both in animation and live-action.
I had heard of Trafalgar Law until you mentioned it here and I googled it. I can see what you are getting it after reading the bio. There are only so many archetypes you can use in sci-fi before you start to get some similarities. Like how Deadpool, Lobo or Boba Fett from marvel, DC and Star wars, serve the same function as mercenary bounty hunters.
Love the video dude when did they make Bishop Aboriginal? Also I hope Storm isn't his ancestor cause he was trying to hook up with her pretty hard in the 90's. As for the picks I gotta disagree with 2. 1. Cecilia Reyes should be in her 30s, she was an accomplished surgeon not a resident so between 35 and 40. 2. Unless you are talking straight cameo Gateway should be a real actor, it's harder not easier to emote.
Bishops origin is complex and Marvel mishandled back in the 90s when he was created. They put out a set of trading cards saying he was from the Philipines and then retconned that later. So going back to the late 90s his origin and his sister Shard are they are the children of Australian mutants born in a concentration camp in America. I made a video in the past called is Bishop actually Black that gets into all the crazy ish about that and how Black Americans, Filipinos and of course Aboriginals all claiming him. But his official biography is he is Aborginal. The Storm connection was rumored but never confirmed. ua-cam.com/video/nOhEBLAak-Y/v-deo.html
@@ComicPower cool honestly Bishop always had a cool power but he didn't really have a personality until District X. District X was a great concept Bishop in a buddy cop police procedural in New York's mutant " China Town" but then no more mutants happened.

The X-Men have always been a metaphor for the discrimination against minorities. So its always been wrong that they didn't have more high profile Black characters. For Monet St Croix, I would go with a French actress or a model. I've always read Monet to have a bit of an accent, so I would go with this woman I found Karidja Touré or just any black or biracial model from France or from any French speaking north African country.
Thats a good idea. Im sure there is someone out there that fits that description. With Marvels resources im sure they could undercover her. Thanks for watching ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
In the past year I’ve learned that both Rogue and Dazzler were both originally conceived as black women. In Rogue’s case Claremont told the artist to base her on Grace Jones with a white streak, but the artist didn’t know who that was. For Dazzler their is concept art of her as black.
Thanks for commenting. i heard that story about Rogue before and saw a video of Claremont confirming it. I didn't know about Dazzler. All I knew about it was the record exec Niel Bogart wanted to create a disco based character in Marvel comics and Dazzler came out of that. it wouldnt surprise me if the template for her was Black at first because Donna Summer was the most dominant female artist of that era. ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
no shade at Nekra, Spyke or others not mentioned. this video was long enough with the mini-origins and casting choices. i can always do part 2 at a future time. ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
@@ComicPower Again, completely understandable. Plus, who in their right mind would want to cast/ play that character? A. The Mandrill of it all. B. Her revolutionary political thinking, while essential to hear these days, would NEVER make it into an adaptation. C. Being Grim Reaper's girlfriend, when he's just mega racist. D. She has black features but white-white skin. I can just see the chuds online saying "Oh, but whiteface is okay?" and explaining everything there is more trouble than it's worth. Altho, Jordan Blok would give it their all but science writer, not an actor. Altho, she'd be interesting in animated form.
I remember M from the 90s.. i would love to see her shes been around forever...shes a lot like Rogue in power set except she doesn't absorb others powers
you are right. she is an interesting character that could be used as an interesting, anti-hero in live action. hopefully they use the character in the future! ua-cam.com/users/comicpower

hi mate! I am Indigenous Australian so firstly I just wanna say thanks for the acknowledgement of us! but a few tips if I may! firstly, DO NOT refer to us as "aborigine" it's seen as a quite derogatory term! not in the same level it's the N word but still very much disliked by us! "aboriginal" is fine but mostly just Indigenous Australian or first nation is preferred! also we don't have the same view on "mixed race" in our culture, basically if you are, you are! to my tribal family in as black as they are even though my mum is white! so just refer to us as stated above regardless of skin tone!! and FYI the wizard Shazam is also Indigenous Australian (Retconed) but again thanks for the recognition! great video! 👍
Welcome to the board. I am an African American. I view native Australians as my fellow brothers. I attempted to be sensitive about the issue. There was so much controversy over the character of Bishop, I decided to learn more about the issue. Thank you for your tips on what is acceptable on what you would like to be called. Glad you liked the video overall. I appreciate it!
Before I hit play the only other black X-Men I can think of off the top of my head are Bishop and Prodigy(from the 2004-ish run of New Mutants/New X-Men) and Spike(if we're counting cartoons)
Bishop and Prodigy did get mentioned and 13 others that are worthy of learning more about. I didnt cover Spyke in this video. He is not canon to the comics, and only appears in the Xmen evolution animated series. in saying that I plan to do a part 2 of this video in the future and talk about him and whoever else I didnt mention. the comments told me who. ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
I apologize for leaving a comment before I watch this video instead of afterwards, but just seeing the title of this video has me hoping that you're going to mention Cecilia Reyes. She and two other characters joined the team and took a shine to her almost immediately. But apparently I was the only one who did, because none of those three characters were there for very long. She seems forgotten to time these days, which really sucks. They didn't kill her off or anything. They just....wrote her out.
Cecilia is mentioned in the video. I feature 15 Black Xmen not named Storm in the video and pick an actor that would be good to play them if appeared in live action. the Mutant universe has created literally hundreds if not thousands of mutants in its 61 year history with tons of confusing continuity. I don't know of anything of Cecilia being killed or written off. Its just hard to get any screen time with so many characters in its universe! ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
I thought she had been killed in a mutant concentration camp alongside Maggot. Maybe she wasn't though. She was there but she might not have been with the group that got killed. It's been a long time since I read that comic. Couldn't even tell you when it was or what series anymore. I liked Celia as well. I liked that she didn't want anything to do with the whole superhero thing, hence just using her regular name.
The Bishop and Storm connect has not been confirmed by Marvel. In his comic origin his grandmother is a woman with dark skin and white hair but they never said it was Storm but didnt say it wasnt either so its up in the air. ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
Aborigines are descended from Africans. My parents are West African, but when I rook the African Ancestry test, I had one very weak Aboriginal genetic match in Australia.
Thank you for this background info.Aborgines look like us but with less kinky hair. Everything else looks pretty much the same. ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
@ComicPower you are absolutely right about that aboriginal they have strong African features if you wanted proof look at Johnathan majors and look at some of the aboriginals you can't denied it
Thank you for the kind words. I am a big pop culture geek. Comics, movies etc. So In this video I got a chance to mesh those things together. I hope Marvel is listening. In this short I pick who should play Storm if you missed it. See the link ua-cam.com/users/shorts5bv_AmwwwyQ
As much as I liked The X MEN coming up I never thought of them as being racist , but there it is , also seems to have a fear of black males possessing an omega power level. Not that black females should be underrated , but Marvel tends to appear more comfrotable toward the black feministic role just in observation of this upload. However the upload is appreciated and , thanks for allowing us to be more aware of others like STORM , being apart of the X-MEN. THANKS AGAIN KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK😊
Thanks for watching. I think they are setting up Synch to be an omega. he can temporarily use the powers of other mutants in his vicinity. So unless hes an omega then how can he use the power of other mutants. Marvel needs to verify this because I dont think they have ever done so yet. it would be welcoming. ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
I named 15 characters in this video and gave my choice for an actor for all of them. if you liked 14 of 15. Then Im like Steph Curry from the Freethrow line, nearly perfect. Thanks for watching ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
That was a joy to watch😍I smiled through the whole thing. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Very well done ✅
His power didn’t want any part of that fight
thats what they mean by, "I dont want any of that smoke!" LOL. thanks for posting
ua-cam.com/video/nOhEBLAak-Y/v-deo.html
Even his power knew there was no limit to the Hulk lmao
😂😂.
Bro what mutant is name Radian
@@ImRage_NA depowered Mutant named Christian Chord that popped up as a student in the New X-Men run by Morrison. Relatively minor character that popped up in New Warriors using tech armor to simulate powers.
Either way, Google searches are as helpful since someone put the name out there (use Radian Mutant and Marvel in the search and it'll find him to get more on him on a fandom wiki or some such)
I thought Blink was half-Asian and half-Black 🤔
@@Mitsu2040 the 616 Blink was born Clarise Ferguson of one of the Bahamian islands. It is largely populated by Black people. The AoA Blink is supposed to be the same character (who went on to star in the Exiles.
The Asian character came about because Fan Bing Bing played a version of her. Since she's Asian they named that character Clarise Fong. The comics Blink hasn't been ever stated to have incorporated an Asian reconned history as far as I know.
This was really cool and I hope that people give these characters a true chance to shine!
Thanks for watching. It would be cool to see more Black Xmen come to life besides Storm and Bishop.
ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
Loooooooove Evan!
If i had a choice between Spyke or Miles Morales. Sorry to say, im choosing Spyke
@@ComicPower
First off: I, myself, love Synch.
@@ComicPower
True.
CGI artists would have a field day with someone like him (the diffraction effect when he powers up alone should be a gift to work with for them). So, it should be interesting to see him in a live flick.
I'll miss X Men Evolution's Spyke. I know he's animation only, but he was awesome.😢
Spyke and nightwaller were my favorite characters in X men: evolution.
To be honest, all it takes is a writer to introduce him in comics. Because X-23 started in X-Men Evolution as well
they need to make him cannon. If they could do it for Harley Quinn they can do it for him.
Cecilia Reyes is my fave. Great video! Thank you.
You are welcome. The X-Men seem to dwell on about just 10 characters all the time when they have dozens of really good ones that deserve more shine so glad to make this and put a spotlight on more of them
ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
Celia is so underrated, I'd love to see her step in for Sue Storm in Fantastic four
I'm glad you like the video. be sure to sub if you havent. more awesome stuff to come
ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
Thanks for watching. I am proud to give some of these lesser known characters more shine.
ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
See this is what I love to see. The highlighting of underappreciated comic book characters (in this instance black characters but applies to really any under used or under appreciated character.) for movie roles. I call myself a comic fan but I never heard of any of these characters so thank you for introducing me. These mutants are absolutely wicked. Would love to see more of them

Dope video, I liked most of the casting. Here's some other Black X-men characters besides Storm that you can fancast in part 2:
The ones we've seen onscreen thus far:
Blink (You briefly mentioned her in reference to Bling! I thought you would've put her in there. Played by Asian actresses onscreen)
Bedlam
John Wraith
Angel Salvadore
Ptonomy Wallace (He's non-canon in the comics but I loved Jeremie Harris' portrayal of him in Legion)
Some of the ones we haven't seen onscreen yet:
Cipher, Tag, Triage, Nekra, Decay, Tattoo, Radian, Kidogo, Threnody, Locus, Maggott, Hub, Shola Inkose, Astrid Bloom and Postman (Michael Luwoye played Erg in The Gifted TV show. Michael should've played him instead.)
*Gorgeous George and Hairbag might be Black, idk if that was ever revealed about them.
Thank you for your input. Part 2 will come eventually. these things take longer to make then most people realize.

Bishop imo is Idris Elba. He can add the weight needed in a bishop storyline
Yeah know I am not mad at this pick. I could see this. Assuming that he is done playing Heimdal in the Thor Universe.
ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
The most obvious character that needs to be put in the MCU is Blue Marvel. They will certainly nerf his powers though.
I will give them a chance. I think they haven't introduced him yet because he could overshadow Reed Richards. After the Fantastic Four are introduced I think he will come along later. maybe a friend in science to Reed. we will see
ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
Also, having Bishop having imaginary conversations with Shard would be neat too see also, the Bishop 4 issue mini from a long time ago and the X.S.E were really good
the Acolytes story line and the XSE team. I would be completely nerding out if they did this in live action. I would be first in line at the theatre camped out. LOL. thanks for watching. be sure to sub

You made me realize that there are more (mostly) black characters in the X-Franchise than I thought. Still, I'm a bit disappointed that the main core characters I can recall immediately are Storm and Bishop. Maybe Sunspot and Darwin, but they don't exactly have the staying power of the first two. @Comic Power I'm kinda sad to know most don't know these characters. Most of these ( especially the GEN X, and OZT eras ) I know.
Not even worth mentioning. 95% of the viewers of this video have no idea who the character is and 99% of them probably never saw Generation X. Its like it never happened because its so obscure.

So will come back to part 2 in the future. thanks.

They still act like Bubble Bee and Vixen dont exist. thanks for watching and sub if you haven't

i think it would be cool to see Monet st. Croix in the MCU.
I agree. Shes an interesting character. She could be an Emma Frost type of anti hero if given a chance to shine with more inclusion in the story lines

More of the characters on my list need a bigger spotlight as well
ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
The video was good until you pick Jade to play Frenzy. She is Storm the height the build and she looks like Storm in the face.
I may do part 2. I didnt want to have a 1 hour video. There are fans of spyke that asked why i didnt mention him too.

Nice casting. I would love a series of movies with these guys in them.... but... at the pace Marvel is going with the X-men, we should be looking at Nursery and Pre-school casting these roles. It will be quite some time before Marvel get's around to casting Black actors to play Black X-men in the MCU.
So let's play a game of WHO might they cast in the next few years (pre-2030) from this list
Storm - technically not listed above, but that's because she goes without saying, but I didn't want to go without saying
Frenzy - she could be a black mutant goon for Magneto or Mystique
Sunspot - his profile has skyrocketed, especially post X-men 97
Bishop - highest profile 'black' character in X-men after Storm
Everyone else I don't see likely happening even within the next 10 years, probably never.
It was downright shocking when I learned that Frenzys last name was Cargill, When I cast in my mind Jade Cargill to play her, I had no idea of the name being the same.. be sure to sub if you haven't already.

Alycia would’ve been the PERFECT America Chavez omg
I know. but I don't think Marvel was going to give us a Afro Latin America Chavez. Hopefully they cast Alycia in something like my recommendation. thanks for watching.
ua-cam.com/users/comicpower
If they had played by a mixed Brazilian (which is almost half the country) then their would have not been any problem...
@@ComicPower I get what you're saying better it's more on the part that we're the only county that still upholds the one drop rule but your video is well-researched and put together I also hope the character gets portrayed better instead of the lazy and racist casting they gave to us
As to speak of. more black X-.Men. It would be good to know where to find their comic series.
...
every character here except Storm and Bishop are supporting characters that have never headlined a title and have appeared here in there in a whole swath of X-Men titles. The X-men universe is so huge and confusing in its continuity, its hard to tell you were to start..
Bishop last headlined a mini-series in 2023 called "War College" and Storm headlined a series called "Storm and the Brotherhood of Mutants"

@@ComicPower No problem 🫡

Try domino a mutant outcast from x force and her power is not luck it is probability .

The X-Men have always been a metaphor for the discrimination against minorities. So its always been wrong that they didn't have more high profile Black characters. I'd like to add two black to your (though not X-Men) in hopes you add them to a future video. Willie Evans Jr. front FF #208 & Iron Man annual #8 who for all intent is a young Firestorm, Molecule Man, or Proteus and should have been resurrected on Krakoa. 2nd is the telepath Astrid Bloom who was Emma Frosts Nemesis during her origin series. @@ComicPower yeah your casting choices were actually really good.

I can just see the chuds online saying "Oh, but whiteface is okay?" and explaining everything there is more trouble than it's worth.
METHOD MAN SHOULD PLAY BISHOP

Synch, Storm. Idie Okonkwo, Spyke, Gateway .
Bishop is black. He's from the future if you didn't know that storm's grandson from the future. They got bishop's hole costume from john henry
The Bishop and Storm connect has not been confirmed by Marvel. In his comic origin his grandmother is a woman with dark skin and white hair but they never said it was Storm but didnt say it wasnt either so its up in the air.

THANKS AGAIN KEEP
