I’ve been using this routine for a couple months now and I’ve noticed a huge difference in not only my footwork but my confidence in movement. Thanks for such a great video! Footwork is underratedz
I have learned from all of your videos. Your footwork is amazing. Why don't you try explaining some of the concepts or principles behind the movements?
Did some of this come from Chinese martial arts? At first I thought it was definitely superficial, but your stretches here are including some things that are treated as explicitly Chinese and somewhat controversial in practice and application these days! I know this was a while ago, but was there any connection that you know?

I was made aware of my lack of fitness by this routine.
Man footwork is so underrated when it's the most essential for the rest. Great job man!
I am glad I found this. I have been trying to find nice HEMA footwork drills. I have a broken rib and can't practice much else right now.
Tried to work through this today from memory. Hell of a warm up.
May thanks! Using your material to train actors for stage combat.
Looks savage for the knees.
Thank You, Footwork is my weakest area, worse even than timing !
It looks like some of these exercises would be applicable to earlier rapier styles that emphasize stepping offline & circular movement.
A lot of people make fun of good stretchers... it doesn't matter what it looks like, whatever loosens you up!
Good to fencing! Thank you!
quite nice footwork video for HEMA so far.
I do this everyday during my lunch break at work for a quick way to get my heart rate going and increase flexibility.
The sounds in the background...did you fill this on the Death Star?

It's still very good!
Not necessarily -- I think these are quite universal. For rapier I would do different ones.
thanks for this Illka.
Very interesting!!!
Would you change any of the exercises if you weren't training bolognese but instead the german longsword?
Great stuff :)
