ten years ago my partner went to get motorcycle licence in the philippines - she returned after paying a fixer $60 with a motorcycle and car licence [altho she had never driven a car]. no test. then had to pay a driving school $1000 for lessons so that she could safely drive a car. let's not forget that driving tests were suspended in UK during WW2, and many drivers, like my father, were given a licence without any driving lessons or test.

You should have used an automatic, for their first driving experience.
They learn to drive and passed there test in a manual car
