Today we bust out one of my Top 5 favorite markers
The Pilot super color jumbo black marker to show this classic tool, I will also show how to reverse the square 10mm nib when it has been worn down from writing to a fresh sharp chisel and of course I will show how to refill the gravy feed aluminum body with the 2oz pilot black ink refill bottle.

Word big facts his style is hella clean! Most would agree with that. But it’s important to remember that style is relative. Ya can’t knock a simple, print-font handstyle if the fundamentals are hit spot on. Maybe just a touch of style added to the first or last letter always looks good to me, especially with clean, confident lines. I’ve been practicing basic letters for years now and my style is slowly evolving as I learn more about how letters function. I spend just as much time practicing the entire alphabet as I do my own tag and it’s paying off big time. Simple is dope imo.
@@LSDREAMIN I'm with you 100%, I love the clean simple shit for sure. The stuff that hits the best for me is the really weird shit tbh. Rusty's style seems hella embedded in tradition, and more often than not those styles don't actually hit that well for me. But Rusty's shit is so well practiced that it just comes out so mint. That "meet the writer" at 2:00. Dude has 3 Ts, 3 Es, 2 Rs etc, and each one is unique and fits the space compositionally. Flows right out easy. Maybe he writes that phrase all the time, i dunno, but I'd love to be able to improv a phrase like that with each repeating letter looking different and still feel cohesive. Not tryna glaze too hard lmao. But yeah you right, it's all just taste and even the most amateur shit can look fire sometimes.

Iirc bro has been waiting since the 90s in Cali. He definitely has a west coast style. Especially talking about eyebusters, that's hella Cali shit (maybe that was the last vid I watched idr). I definitely love that old school west coast handstyle vibe tho.

The OG classic and I'll fuck with pilot ink any day when it's time to play.... xylene,tags flowing looking Clean and hella mean, rust know how to bust them letters,he a real go getter!!! I don't know why but i rhymed my comment 😂 big ups RUSTONE. Great review of a classic and showing how to use an essential tool in any taggers arsenal.... gotta have it, especially with the ink refill and the metal body is such a gem to mix and match in other concoctions. But the ink on it's own is stellar and at a great price!
I always end up juicing em up way too much and making a fat mess 😂 but I love this marker! 😆
Was still enthusiastic for a review on one of the oldest tools in the book.
Some additional tips for for my comment surfers. Sure ya'll will probably be buying another one of these at some point. Keep the old one. Whence the nib is ground totally flush with the plastic... Do the demonstrated nib flip.
Take out the ink sponge with needle nose pliers, (preferably when dry). There is a plastic spacer under it to raise it up and make it seem like you getting more than you paid for. Either get some plastic object to stack and raise the sponge up more to meet the flipped ground down nib,
OR get rid of the plastic completely and get some felt/compatibly absorbent and supportive material(ideally, a cut of another ink sponge[this would also increase ink capacity]) stack those and use the rest of your nib. Experiment with the pin positioning to add desired length when revamping.
OR ditch the whole sponge fill with ink, plug up gaps around nib somehow with rolled thinner felt, possibly in conjunction with reprofiled rounded out nib to fit better, teflon tape threads, make sure that shit is carried nib up in ur pocket, and you basically got a gravity fed felt tipped INK mop. Messy, obviously handle with care

the thinner "broad" chisel pilots are also fire. Not so much for tagging cuz they're so small, but for a blackbook marker it's my go-to

Any ink suggestions that you would mix with the pilot ink in this particular marker to make it more fade resistant?
@@bravopapa137 honestly man the xylene black pilot ink is pretty damn good on its own in the sun. It’s the other pilot colors that fade fast. But maybe some marsh k grade or t grade marsh but not too much. Just a splash

How permanent is the marker on its own without any special ink added? Is it highly permanent ink like pilot says it is?
@@XfinityPublicWifi it is pretty good on its own. Xylene based, but like any other ink it will fade in the sun with time. But not super fast like alcohol inks. On its own it better then most inks
