Minor detail but the previous owner has also colour coded the side skirts or replaced them with Edition 30 skirts. It's a popular thing to get done as the factory finish on them is really cheap looking
I owned one of these exactly like this between 2005 and 2013. I notice yours has been colour coded like the Edition 30 (which is what I did with mine) which does improve the looks. The EA113 engine is more usable between 1000 and 3000 rpm than the later EA888 which is why I think it feels faster than it actually is. Worth bearing in mind the stock clutch may slip around 3000 rpm after a remap.
I've just bought a stage 2 tuned mk5 gti, same year etc, goes very well and holds the power down very well. The drivability of the mk5 gti is great for a daily 👌 good choice mate
I’ve had mine for four years now and drive her almost every day when I’m not driving my Miata and I absolutely love my Mk5 gti and can’t wait to to tune my own! And man please please do so lowering suspension work on it I promise you your civic will have a run for its money especially with meaty tires on it. These cars corner like a dream when Set up right
I had ep3s old civic eks /coupes accords preludes.. Ive been a honda ethuiast from birth, but after my ep3 I bought a mk5 gti...its an unreal car they call it the best gti.. Handling is amazing.. I still regret selling mine... This car will keep up with an ep3 on track both given handling mods... Take that from a die hart honda ethuiast
Nothing is worse than buying a "standard" car and telling yourself it's stock until your bored of the power , take it to get mapped and then discover it's already stage 1 followed by you asking how much does stage 2 cost 😂
Think the MPS was better for fun but this will be better for mpg. Be cool to see what you do with it but German cars are boring to own to me, unless an m car. Still looks a nice one mate good luck with it.
I had a red 7.5 R all tuned up pushing 380! Great car, but iv now got a mk 5 edition hitting 408 it’s a handful , I’d have it anyway of the week over the Golf R,
Excited for this one. It's a good daily, relatable affordable, fairly common car. Keep this one and look after it, can tell previous owners have kept it in good nick
Get down to RTech, honestly the best in the business for 2.0tfsi engines! I couldn’t recommend them enough! I’ve got this engine in my 12 plate VW caddy!
Really like these Jesse, I’ve actually been half considering one for about 6 months now but what puts me off is the MPG is poor for what they are power wise standard. They really are fairly thirsty when you drive it properly! The on screen MPG isn’t accurate - if you talk to owners or look at forums, realistically they do 25mpg with mixed driving Also whilst we’re here, considering power wise and price to buy they’re very similar… this or EP3?
@@wlewis6544 it’s well known that MPG readouts of most cars are out. I've got exactly the same car, 2008 manual. Totally standard. Yes, in town I get 24 or 25mpg calculated from filling tank and resetting trip counter. But, on motorway commute to work I've been getting 36 to 38 mpg from thankful. 400 to 420 miles per tank. Driven gently, with not too much hard acceleration, use pulse and coast method a lot. Pretty good for a hot Hatch.

If you haven't already ordered suspension stuff I'd recommend some H&R springs, loads of people run them on these plus I can't fault them personally. Sits nicely plus it doesn't ruin the ride like certain coilovers can
I drive an 06 plate seat leon fr 2.0tfsi same engine as your golf, they use them engines in fuuuukin everything, audi s3 golf r and seat leon cupra I think they use a bigger turbo tho 👍

I've got a mk5 r32 dsg and I love it. It's much different offering to the gti. More of a GT than hot hatch. I think the gti is probably more fun, but the r32 is the daddy, looks way better and you already know about the noise.......
