When peniel said it was because Ashley’s brother was the youngest and not because he was a boy was the reason their mom treated him that way I international screamed NOOO! moms treat their sons differently compared to their daughters
Shout out to all moms out there who worked so hard to raise their kids! 👍👏👏👏 I think even if you’re already an adult, your mom will always look at you as her baby forever.
The fact that I’m 23 and my mum still nags me to come home early, like I’m literally in my final year living at the library and this lady calls me every 10 mins after 7pm lmao (I’m being dramatic but iykyk). not a complaint though, you learn to appreciate the fact that they worry this much for you! Hehe loved this ~
Ashley makes a good point, some moms, mine included, just tend to be overprotective or overly doting especially with sons. Don’t know why but I guess it’s a thing
Reminds me of my experiences. I was on a date in the city back on valentines day in 2019 and I forgot to text my parents that I had arrived at the restaurant. My dad googled the restaurant saw it apparently closed down, so he ended up ringing every business on the entire street until someone went over to the restaurant and told the waiters to check on me. At the time it was embarrassing but I understand that blind panic my dad had not knowing if his daughter was okay or not.
Bruh have you heard about Latino moms??? Going to a friend’s house is like level 0.5! 🤣 nothing like go clubbing w/ your friends and your mom actually ask the dj to call out your name, theeeeen you talk to me about crazy stuff moms do 😂😂 Ps: I looooooooooveeee LXX voice 🤩
Tbh my parents aren't exactly the extremely strict type but they would nag a lot. My dad would be telling me to always cover my drink and not let anyone hold it for me, to drink all of my glass before going to the bathroom so no one would put anything in it, to always protect myself when out in public, etc, etc. My parents also wouldn't let me sleepover at a friend's house either and wouldn't let me be out late at night (past 9:00 p.m.). I don't mind though because I don't go out a lot anyways. My mom is more lenient than most Asian moms I think. (or maybe because I don't cause any trouble or do anything rebellious)
I was an only child for 10 years and my parents were extreemely strict they wouldn’t even let me go to my neighbors house to play with friends. It was only my house we used to hangout. And i was almost really spoilt but then my brother came and everything is alright now 💥😗 im glad my brother came hahaha
@@mangosorbet2619 oh no, I think I'll take that back , so in this podcast Peniel mentioned about himself being in Ashley's vlog which was released last week so this recording happened very recently too.
I had the same experience as Ashley loool. It was my parent's anniversary and I went out to get them a gift with ny friends but I didn't say I was going to, I just said that I'm gonna go out and be back before the celebration. My phone went low battery right before I can text them that I'm omw home so my mom went to the hall to ask for help because she couldn't contact me for 2 hours. That scared me too coz I thought police would look for me >
1:05 my dad spoiled my sis. My mom spoiled my 2 brothers. Who got me? My older brother 😎 later on, when my younger bro had money he would get me stuff too 😌
You now I might get roasted and I will take the heat but be very happy that you rebelled in some ways it is very healthy especially coming from a strict background. I did not rebel and I regret it why you would ask. It's because I couldn't experience life, being lonely stuck in your room because your mother said you can't go out is absolutely terrible to the mind. While I agree parents sacrifice to raise you but making mistakes is key to growing. If you didn't rebel you wouldn't have grown up to realize that your actions were wrong. I wish I had the chance to feel guilty for my actions and feel bad for my mom but thats just my opinion based on my experience
I’m kind of similar I also didn’t rebel but it’s not because my mom was super strict. I kind of feel like I brought it on myself too but it’s kind of cuz I feel like I didn’t really know how/maybe thought it was a waste of energy? Mostly because parents seem to know the best and want the best for their kids. But I think also because my parents weren’t really strict at all. If they had been I think I might have acted out. There’s a point where it gets to be too much and there’s no logical reasoning behind it to make you listen. In a way I feel like I missed out on growing up/ becoming a mature person.
@@mangosorbet2619 I relate to that in so many ways while I won't get into specifics the growing/maturing as a person hits the nail on the head for me. While I'm finally grasping my sense of self in hopes to turn my life around I hope you were able to grow yourself, if you haven't yet it's never to late to make changes for the better. I wish you the best and am sincerely hoping you achieve your dreams and goals you have for yourself 😁🙏
@@fredysanchez7862 Wow thank you so much!! 🥺☺️ even if it sounds a little weird, it’s nice to know I’m not alone in this feeling. That means a lot to hear how you’ve started that journey yourself and are very close to finishing-just want to congratulate you on that very big accomplishment!! 🥳 Thank you for the sincere wishes as well; good luck in all your future endeavors too and in becoming the awesome person you’re sure to become! Cheering you on always!! 👍🏻😁

What Ashley said about mom's affection for sons is very true...
I guess it’s good I don’t have a brother then 😂 (got 2 sisters)
yeah my mom does that too, to my brother 😂
my brother is older and i always feel like she likes him better -_-
@@softia9 Sadgeee I’m so sorry that’s rough. 😢I empathize with you because my dad definitely has a favorite and it’s my younger sister haha
im an oldest daughter with and my brother is the youngest, literally being punching bag + being jealous over how my brother get spoiled
Peniel: Stop doing that, you never do that for me
THAT PART
When peniel said it was because Ashley’s brother was the youngest and not because he was a boy was the reason their mom treated him that way I international screamed NOOO! moms treat their sons differently compared to their daughters
Not all moms.. My mom never treated me any differently than my bro..I am younger one and she never let him boss me
You know when you got strict parents when you have to wait 5-7 business days to get a response when you want something
Stahpppp the business days 😆😆😆
Or never get response at all 😆
this is so trueeeeeee

My mom is the same, my dad is the chill type. My mom won’t even let me go throw the garbage away it’s in the same building 😶
Ashley makes a good point, some moms, mine included, just tend to be overprotective or overly doting especially with sons. Don’t know why but I guess it’s a thing
That protective instinct doesn't kick in until the day your child is born and you make it your life long goal to protect them for as long as you live.

This remains me of the time my friends mom almost call the police cause we were at the movies and didn't answer the phone, we were 14
Alex is backkkkk, yay
Same goes for brown asian parents too. I can relate way too much 😅
My mom treats my older brother so differently from me and it drives me up the wall but when I confront her about it she brushes me off
My mom is very nice to me my dad is mean sometimes like he never lets me do anything and has a problem with everything

AHSLEY I LOVE YOU, YOU ARE MY ROLE MODEL!!
Wait, so Peniel went on Kingdom filming on the same day they recorded this..
I'm yet to check out the full audio..hehe
Poor Peniel 🥺 but just curious how do you know? The clothes...?
@@mangosorbet2619 If it's based on the clothes, it's the same day as his first meeting with the rest of the dance unit, not the actual performance.

Ashley is so relatable
We are 3 girls in my family, so I can't imagine how my parents would be if they had a boy.

The rebel sides coming out.. let me turn up the volume.. lol
I was scared of my father 🤣 he would beat my tushie
Ashley: it didn't last long
Me: LMFAO ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
The cases I know of, is because he's "the only boy" (even if he's the eldest)
