Great to see so many others here in the Philippines. I first came here to the PI. back in 1972. On R&R from being in vietnam. The pregnant women, senior citizens and PWDs rule in queuing can be a bit confusing in Philippines for those who do not know it. It is a law and a deeply ingrained in the Filipino culture. Majority of Filipinos (although I think "all") agree with it, as we believe that when you get old, you cannot stand and walk like how young people can. So for able and healthier people, we must give way for them or help them. It can be confusing with PWD as some of them look like a normal person, but these people have cards from the government that they present in the cashier for 20% discount. Some 60 years old, do not look like 60 years old too. It is a law that senior citizens and PWD should have 20% discount, thus majority have a card as a proof. Although, it can be irritating for those who are not in theit 60s. lol. I have a Filipino-Canadian friend that gets offended, everytime the cashier will ask him for senior citizen card, as he is just on his late 40s lol. I heard it is offensive to offer your sit to older people in Japan and Hongkong. For us Filipinos, it is just not right to not let them go first in the line or give up your seat for them. My husband is Swedish and I always death stare at him, if he will not let an older person first and or give up his seat to pregnant women, women with kids and old people. So far here in Scandinavia, I stopped expecting people to do the same, except my husband. I just cannot bring myself not do it like how we do in Philippines. I just feel guilty. My husband also complains everytime I stop him from going to the elevator first, as we need to let old people, PWD and pregnant women go first, before us. I explained to him that we able people should be able to catch them or assist them, in case they fall or slip.
My sister doesn't look sick with cancer & she has a pwd card which is very helpful specially in long queues when she feels nauseated. Hence our SC, pregnant & PWDs law is very humane & bespeaks of the Filipino trait of sensitivity & compassion.
In Europe particularly in Austria the pregnant and women with babies and seniors esp with disabilities have their own seats in all the public transportations and yes it's most often given the priorities seats from the young ones ..its understable. Citizens with physical disabilities should wear reconizable badge ( with 3 big black.dots)on their arms or should carry their ID'S ( issued by the govt.) esp in Parking Lots/ Garage to avail their right and priorities to park. These reserved parking lots remained " reserved" for them only.. Same as family car with babies on board they have their own parking lots..( bigger than the usual) for unloading their strollers safety wise.Orderly managed. I can say.
@@bellbellaa7947 With seat assignments and parking, it is the same in PH, except tricycles and jeepneys. Sometimes the slots are taken also by some same groups already. If the PWD-Seniors suspect that someone is not eligible of that seat, they can complain to the driver. But overall, Philippine culture prioritize this groups. Here in Norway, the young ones are acting like they do not notice the old-PWD people.
Thank YOU for a Clear Explanation. Few years ago, I personally testified Myself when I have experienced an improper Disgust from Others who are NOT really Aware of their Surroundings. That's when the Time I took care of My Sick Father who was Struggling with Dementia. I always bring him out with Me every time I shop some Groceries, buy Medicines at Pharmacies, Go to the Bank or Remittance Centers, Dropping by in any Convenience Stores, and so on. First of all, I usually let him sit at the Safe Corner Seat of PWD's while I am doing each Tasks. So I get a Priority Number using his ID card. For some people who are abruptly Concluded, they are so Confused and became Judgmental why I was given such Privilege since I looked too Healthy & Young..😁 Then, I Often point Out to them My Father is just behind there waiting for Me as I am doing the Transaction in behalf of him. And so finally they Understand.

Thank you for liking your stay here in the Philippines. Just be extra cautious. Not all the places here are safe to be honest. On a positive note you will really meet cheerful Filipinos who smiles to strangers and very hospitable. Keep safe and enjoy😊❤
To be honest being a dark skin American living here rarely do you get smiles but bad stares that's really threatening type..if you are white there's a huge difference.
My reco for your steps is to put pebbles on each "flight" of step to provide grip, then cover with slats of bamboo or wood planks to give you a smooth landing per step. This way, no foliage will have a chance to grow on your pathway.
Hi! I enjoyed very much watching your blog specially your daily routine how you make good video of different places, beaches and natures around us. Waiting for your next blog.
Yep! Foreign tourists especially in Siargao are mainly surfers even way way back when Siargao is not yet well known to local tourists I remembered when I haven't moved here yet in Cavite foreigners will visit our house and have a chat with my grandparents and aunts. Siargao is well known outside the PH always featured in a surfing magazine before vlogging became a thing.

Makes me wonder why you both had minimal vegan options in Cebu. All the while, I thought there quite a few. Maybe because we Filipinos are generally omnivores or even flexitarians, at most. If you would like to try vegan selections in Mindanao (aside from Siargao), I believe Davao City would be your best choice since the city has an abundance of nature's bounties from the soil. Been to Davao City before and I saw quite a number of vegan restaurants, whether upscale or homestyle.
@@EmyJohan Yes, there are a lot more vegan options in Cebu nowadays, I was also told. Nevertheless, if you'll have time, maybe you can check out Davao City also. It has that laid-back, urban feel that's quite catching. You'll get to see Mt. Apo also, along with the different markets like Bankerohan, outstanding shorelines in Samal Island, and of course the Philippine Eagle Center, where specimens of our national raptor are bred and raised to be released into the forest when these mature.
They were in Cebu at the hieght of Covid scare, all business were having a not-normal situation, it was even crazy looking out for regular foods how much more for vegan.. they just came to the country in the worst time there was.

A foreigner from a western nation cannot compare his/her country of origin with the Philippines because there are a lot of differences, but if you have an open mind, you would understand and love the country.

@@EmyJohan it's root is also called taro. Some people like to cook it in a dish called sinigang. Other people will process it into a flour and make donuts with it and dip it in sweet syrup. The cool thing about them is that you could just cut off the stalks and they'll just keep growing back indefinitely.
Yeah we're a chaos harmony that's why we are resilient and high endurance 😆, and if the one that's cutting in line are old people yes we do prioritize seniors and everyone is ok about that.
Here in Bulacan, the weather is usually heavy rains/storms from June to around September. The rain pour lightens around October when it will usually be short drizzles.. try to get a warm shower/bath at home when your head or back got caught in the rain as it causes either cold/ cough or both. Always cover your head to protect from the raindrops even with just a towel if umbrella is not available.

Have you had the chance to meet with 8 Miles from Home vlogger? The family of Jay, Sasha and Story, they are living their life in Siargao for almost 3 years now. They too are vegan.
We love them, great people!
Filipinos not used to use toilet paper, we normally use water and soap to the bathroom 😂
For some people who are abruptly Concluded, they are so Confused and became Judgmental why I was given such Privilege since I looked too Healthy & Young..😁
Then, I Often point Out to them My Father is just behind there waiting for Me as I am doing the Transaction in behalf of him. And so finally they Understand.

The title of your vlog was Shocking! The Philippines is actually a Paradise on Earth, which most tourists were amazed & enjoyed their adventures!
God bless you both 🙏 for living our Beloved Country the Philippines 🇵🇭 even it is not perfect Country for you guys. Hope you will enjoy more.
Guys thank you for coming to the Philippines we love you so much
Thanks 🙏
GOD bless ya guys ❤️❤️❤️salamat so much. For loving our Philippines country ,,stay cool and enjoy ❤️😇🙏
Salamat po for loving and promoting our country the PHILIPPINES! God bless us all.
Hi! I enjoyed very much watching your blog specially your daily routine how you make good video of different places, beaches and natures around us. Waiting for your next blog.
it's maybe quite expensive to live in Siargao but if you love surfing, it's paradise
Welcome to Philippines guys i am sure you will like to live here though living here is simple as you get along everyday take care .be safe God bless u with Love from us Filipinos🙏🏻💖🤗
Nice Emy and Johan. Philippines is paradise. God Bless....
Hi Emy and Johan, I would say that should you guys went to Baguio city directly, surely your experienced would have been very different. Baguio city is the summer capital of the country. It is cool all year round, nice people, clean city, and where you can eat good vegan food, and fresh fruits. Baguio and Batanes are two provinces that are unique from other provinces in the country. Stay safe and God bless.
True
Emy is very beautiful. She looks like Helen Mirren. And Johan is also very handsome and is a very congenial person.
You love nature, you love plants I hope you can have good Filipino friends around who is plant lover also so they help and assist in your passion of gardening . You both right here you can buy both meat and vegetable in the market while in supermarket not all available. During Covid it's hard due to many restrictions and guidelines to follow. Please connect other vloggers like becoming Filipino, Bret Maverick, Kumander Daut. The 2 are Canadians and other one Kumander D is British. You explore because you can travel in any place that you want. We Filipinos love to assist those foreigners like you.
@Lerma Pabillan Kabayan, hindi ko magets ang comment mo. Pwede pakiayos ang grammar at sentence construction mo? Salamat.

Watching from Jubail City Saudi Arabia from Philippines OFW 🇵🇭.. you're always welcome... you're safe in Philippines, Siargao island... amazing you've small farm.
It takes months like the Eight Miles Home to adapt to the Phils. Msny vloggers like Hungry Syrian Wanderer and Becoming Pinoy are now also a filipino citizen after living in the country gor more than 2 decades and very well recognized by the Phil. Govt. There are more of them who established themselves in the country. More and more like are keep coming back so I really hope the country will give what you really looking for thst I am sure it will not disappoint you both.
Becoming a Filipino citizen is a big goal of ours but feels like it will take a long time. Hope they will accept us :-)
Wow welcome to our country my dear friends we have so many many beautiful places here.
I find this video because of Nelly, Thank you guys. I actually agree with your observation and you gave a balanced explanation. Filipinos have high hopes for the Philippines to improve for everyone’s benifits. Enjoy your stay🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Woww this guys are so simple . I love it🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Makes me wonder why you both had minimal vegan options in Cebu.
I think if we came back to Cebu now it would be easier to find good vegan food but at the time we just tried the local stalls along the road
I m a Filipino and it is very disrespectfull if somebody cut you off and not following the que, beacuse in Manila you need to wait your turn..but any ways im more excited of both of you having a your own family wth kids...
Thank you for choosing Philippines as your home...
I just subbed up on your channel. I love watching your videos, you guys are very sweet and wonderful couples with alot of adventures. I'm a filipina living in japan. And i am enjoying watching you V blogs. More power and God speed 💗
You folks, should visit Amampulo, Boracay, El Nido few of the best beaches in the Phiipines.
Same with eight miles from home, they were stranded in siargao too. You should follow them. They are vegans as well. You should also visit bgc. So many expats living there...
We love @eightmilesfromhome
have fun here in the Philippines and keep safe always
A foreigner from a western nation cannot compare his/her country of origin with the Philippines because there are a lot of differences, but if you have an open mind, you would
understand and love the country.
You should watch Jay, Sacha and Story el-Haj from the youtube vlog 8 Miles from Home. They also live in Siargao island 😊
blend your self to the country, and see the deeper side of being in the Philippines and in the long run you will definitely feel that you are at home.
Nice Garden and plants and also wonderful vlog
Hi Maganda Emy and gwapo Johan we like you here in the Philippines..U help promoting our country..
Thank you so muchhh..take care and God bless you always🌸
Those elephant ears are called "aba", pronounced "ah bah". Very delicious when cooked with bagouong and those dried tiny little prawns.
you can eat those!? wow!
@@EmyJohan it's root is also called taro. Some people like to cook it in a dish called sinigang. Other people will process it into a flour and make donuts with it and dip it in sweet syrup. The cool thing about them is that you could just cut off the stalks and they'll just keep growing back indefinitely.
Thank you for visiting or living here in Philippines ..Filipino peoples are very hospitality .
It's quite natural to feel that way when arriving to a different country.but I'm glad that you have finally embrace the culture.

Yeah we're a chaos harmony that's why we are resilient and high endurance 😆, and if the one that's cutting in line are old people yes we do prioritize seniors and everyone is ok about that.
If you feel cold just gorgĺe with locwarm water with salt, and drink kalamansi juice with a little bet of sugar.
