    The entire site is impressive (and MASSIVE, I might add), but the relief carvings are particularly stunning and just so life-like. They really capture the movement of their subjects and you feel as if the various gods, chariots, soldiers and elephants will pop right off the rock face. Incredible.

    I have heard there are six other temples under the ocean that came up when the water retreated for 1 to 2 km during the Tsunami of 2004. The legends are absolutely true then.

    Again great video, you should visit few more places in TN like Madurai, Srirangam,Chidambaram, Rameshwaram,Kanyakumariand Thanjavur. Madurai has the world's Largest functioning temple and Thanjavur has one of worlds oldest temple.

    • @milosh9k
      @milosh9k  7 років тому +11

      I visited Madurai and Rameshwaram, and I got some good clips from there but I am hesitant to release video, as the main temples there do not allow shooting inside :(

    • @snagansur
      @snagansur 7 років тому +7

      Amazing Places on Our Planet yes many temples in India do not allow shooting inside the temple but if you request the temple authorities saying you're journalist they might allow you. If you say UA-cam and vloger they might be hesistant. Even if you get the permission they will not allow to film the main diety except few places but you can shoot the architecture and rest of the temple.

    • @milosh9k
      @milosh9k  7 років тому +4

      shridhar nagansur I tried this desperately in Madurai, as the temple there is stunning and of high histirical and architectural value, but it didn't help, maybe I did not find the right people, whoever I talked to told me to go to some office in Chennai for permission :(

    • @snagansur
      @snagansur 7 років тому +3

      Amazing Places on Our Planet I would suggest you to take help of locals or contact Administration directly and get all the necessary permits prior to visit them. Every major functioning temple will have a site like this www.maduraimeenakshi.tnhrce.in/admin.aspx where Administration details will be there and you can contact them directly. Non functioning temples fall under ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) and local Government Administration, they also will have sites and you can contact them. If you are trying to get permit through locals either you should have a friend who knows local language or take help of tourist guides (they might charge you for this). Since you're outsider I would prefer contacting them directly and then if that doesn't work go for the second option. But they will allow you shoot everything except inside where main diety is there.

Compare Indian architecture from different states to different countries above I said. Their dress such as saree, doties or any dress they wear also not made by them most common way they dressed come from above mentioned countries. Also invasion of Muslims also brought some they copied from middle East.

    i knew it was puram!
    I've watched praveen mohan phenomenal travel channel and he says mahabalibrum. it's mahabalipuram. How did i know that, and why did i hear the words tamil paa in a dream? I decided it's either because of the Tamil genocide or because of the lost city of Tamil Paat.

      Never enough time when you are traveling. We lived there and got to see a lot most people don't get to see. Check out Kodaikanal (where I went to school) which is a mountain resort in the southern Ghats and Vellore because they there are a bunch of forts that are amazing granite stone works. So much more in South India that gets overlooked.
