An incredibly rare - and equally terrifying - sea cucumber nicknamed the ‘Headless Chicken Monster’ has been spotted floating in the depths of the East Antarctic coast.
With 95 percent of the world’s oceans still yet to be explored, millions of sea creatures are still yet to be discovered - but this latest sighting may prove the proverb ‘out of sight, out of mind’ to be the best policy moving forward.
The sea cucumber come ‘monster’ - who helps to filter organic matter along the ocean floor - was spotted by researchers working in the Southern Ocean, 2,500 miles off the coast of Australia.
