This historic tour would have been better served or conducted in Yorùbá, more so that the majority of the people being shown around (if not all) are Yorùbás themselves. Let's uplift and showcase our language more instead of using borrowed/foreign language in situations like this. That's one of the ways to rid ourselves of the after effect of Colonialism.

While I agree with you to an extent, the fact that the video was made and posted online indicate that the audience is wider and likely include non-Yoruba speaking descendants of Yorubaland. We have to learn to be considerate with respect to this reality. A better suggestion will be for him to communicate in Yoruba and have an English caption. But then, how about yoruba descendants who only understand Spanish and Portuguese.

I am a descendant of the first Aworis that arrived in Isheri in Lagos . The Aworis are descendants of Prince Olofin, an Ile-Ife prince. I really don't know much about Aworis claims on land but by customary law, the first set of settlers on a land have a claim to it. Maybe that's why it is so.

The narration is false. The oduduwa ooni was not decend from heaven. It was the oduduwa during the obatala, oranfe, ogun, orunmila and the rest. Oduduwa olofin ooni didn't meet orumila neither not upto 5years ago. 😊
