He seems like a very honest person. I always liked him
What an amazing guy! Loved it when he explained his last conversation with Henry Fonda and he said... ‘ his last words to me were, ‘I love you very much’. How could I feel anything but love for him?’
Relationships with parents can be so complicated. Thanks for upload🙏
I have read that a few times, it's very sweet. However it is sad Henry did not tell his kids what was in his heart, before his health took a downward toll. I saw the scene between him and Jane in" On Golden Pond'', very sweet. Still better late than never.
@@cocoaorange1 Jane said they both had real tears in the scene. I love the movie.
Jane and Peter never speak up for their mother...who was driven to kill herself by their womanizer father. They had a dysfunctional family be cause their dad was NARCISSISTIC BASTARD who broke their mothers heart. So he could marry his mistress another victim. Even Jane and Peter betrayed their own mother, believed their BASTARD DAD and all his lies about their mother. Sickening!
@@cocoaorange1 Henry Fonda had No Heart!
Henry Fonda was a narcissist an evil man
It was said about him that whenever a friend told him about a problem he had, Peter Fonda would ask "How can I
Help?" Not many people say that, its usually "Oh I'm sorry to hear that" or "Hope things work out".
My one regret is that I never met Peter Fonda; I totally loved this guy and we both had the same background (tragic loss of mom; estrangement from dad) news of his passing was very, very sad. Peter, wherever you are now, I hope and pray that you and your dad have made amends.
Sorry to hear that Ricky ❤
He was so handsome in this interview. He certainly kept it real.
I don’t understand how people find him ugly
@Woohoo That's what gets me about Jane and Peter. They say and do the most hurtful things but never forgive or get over hurtful things said and done to them. It's a two way street.
I agree he’s so handsome
@@rampageclover9788he's fine as hell. Who tf said he's ugly? 😳
that was a disaster area, the Fonda family. It's a miracle that Peter and Jane turned out the way they did.
Jane expressed regret over her eldest Vanessa feeling neglected in her youth. I recently read a bio on her. It seems Vanessa gave her a rough time years ago. Thankfully, they made peace and are very close. Peter mentioned he made it a point to attend both if his kid's school graduations. I read her broke with a gf 14 years younger than him, because he didn't want anymore kids in the mid 70's , and didn't want to hurt her. He was determined to focus on repairing with relationship with his kids, after his divorce from Susan. Luckily they formed a close bond with his 2nd wife Becky. I'm surprised he never had kids with her. Go figure. However he was close to his stepson. Roger Vadim's kids liked Jane as well.
.
You think Hanoi Jane turned out well?! Bahahahaha! Nooooooo!
@@kellymartin5774 you need to catch up on what Jane actually did to oppose the Vietnam war. You don't know much.
@@kellymartin5774 Read the Bill Dakota blog , the charles Manson mail he received .... It's ... I can't
What an amazingly incredible pretty and handsome gentleman Peter Fonda is! Love his voice so much, as equally talented as his family, Henry, Jane and Bridget. He definitely gets his looks and blue eyes from his mother. What a gorgeous beauty, great interview. 😘😍🥰❤️♥️👑⚜️💎🌟✨📺🎭 🎞 😇 ♾ 🤩 🎥
Refreshing to hear people be honest and not hide the truth!
this is so heartbreaking
He has a great face, I'm surprised his acting career wasn't more high profile.
Very sad.
This man makes me depressed looking at him, he is steeped in melancholy.
You can see the agony in his eyes.
I like Peter Fonda he is great actor and person so is his sister and of course his father
@Woohoo he was a good actor he also case you didn't know produced lot of films
also easy rider with Dennis and Jack big time actors how about peters daughter Bridgette Fonda look how good she is
Same thing with my mother , after she realised she would be on and out of mental institution she ended on Christmas Day 2019…. I was extremely sad but also relieved somehow it’s a feeling that unless you inside a mentally disturbed home you probably wouldn’t understand, I would come home from school my German shepherd was dead inside this giant baby bath covered in bloody that was just another day in my house ! I do feel for Peter and anyone that have to go through parents that have mental illness !
Both him and his sister are narcissists, listen to the way he talks about himself… World-weary like he’s told the story 100 times
Loved him in Ulee's Gold. 🕊🌎🕊
Great film.
RIP the truth
I recently finished finished reading his memoir from '99, entitled Don't Tell Dad. It was a decent read and gives fans of the Fonda family a better understanding of him. That is sad all of Jane's blood sibling are gone now. At least she has her adopted sis Amy. Her half sis Frances died back in 2004 I believe.
how did she die?
@@robertbates6249 I think cancer but it could have been some health issues as well.
@@cocoaorange1 sad
I feel no sympathy for Hanoi Jane!!
@@kellymartin5774 get over it
too bad we saw so little of him on the screen. He was warm and humble and of course great looking. Too bad he and Jane never got to really know their Mom, had they been older, they might have been able to help her
An example of a classic American.
Thanks TVCG-the meaningful impact of people like this has made them part of the extended family of the whole country if not planet-viewing media like this is like viewing national home movies.
A good guy,, friends with Dennis Hopper, what a guy.
Yes, a good actor, he worked at it
Soft spoken, like Robert Redford,
A nice very likeable man
Lovely man God bless him!
You are a poor judge of character then.😂 You must either be a person of poor character or love people that have poor character in the first place…
I'm not sure any parent would have told the truth to children in those days. There was a time when parents did that. That was a taboo subject then as were many others. The secrets my family kept because you don't tell is amazing. I have an older sister whose children would be confounded if they new some things about their parents in their youth. Right or wrong thats the way it was then. I'm even younger than the Fondas. It must have really been that way in that generation.
What's the film he talks about doing with his sister?
It sounds like he said either 𝘖𝘭𝘥 𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺 or 𝘎𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺 but apparently they never made the film. Perhaps someone here knows more.
It was called Spirits of the Dead, I read it was a little creepy since there were hints of incest in it. Vadim produced it after Barbarella.
@@cocoaorange1 I don't think so. He talks of a future film. Spirits of the Dead was made in 1968. This interview was 1985.
@@RobertCeisler Thanks for letting me know. It is too bad it took decades to make peace with their dad. Now his son is gone too. It would have been cool if there had been joint family pics. Maybe Jane and Bridget will do something. Have you ever seen the '68 pic. I never have, I was born the previous year. I have seen clips, both siblings speak French.
Ila Hilda Sissac Bridget is retired
Jane, what a women
😔😔
Were as, "sick as our secrets," ...family, nations, etc "secret societies?" sick spiritually 😇😆
I hope he's with his mom now
Right hope she can forgive him for never admitting his womanizer Dad committed his mother to an Asylum, to get rid of her. So he could run off and marry his mistress. His father ruined his mother's life, her only way out was suicide. Jane and Peter know the truth...never did they side with their abused mother who's life was trashed by their father! She was betrayed by her own children!
@@kathrynlabrecque3286 they where just litle kids even his mom wasn't very loving to them how can you blame them now jane says that she understand his mom
Who's his mom?
He seemed so depressed in Thomas and The Magic Railroad. I thought it fit since I assumed Burnett Stone's wife died, but now I wonder if he was truly depressed. I wonder if he was hired with Alcroft knowing that.
She killed herself because her husband had a younger woman and asked for a divorce.
That's not completely true. I read his biography and the marriage was strained for years. They weren't sharing a bed even. He didn't know that would put her over the edge. Did she write it in a note. I've never heard that she did. Sad as it is, a mental patient isn't dealing with reality. They take a permanent way out of a temporary problem.
Boomhauer.
Peter looks like Michael Douglas in this interview
The Beatles wrote "She Said She Said" about his accidental self-wound.
Not really. You making big grasp.

Well, August 65 the beatles were all on acid ( not paul ) during time off and john was having a hard time , losing it a bit when a guy came up to him and said " it's all ok I know what its like to be dead . I once shot myself as a kid ".
The guy was fonda and lennon had to get away , as you would.
John wrote ' he said he said ' of that but changed it to ' she said.'
She wants him.
she fancies him yes but she also truly cares about him
Unfortunately it seems he died an out of work politician.
