They've gone too far with these clean ship looks in my opinion. I mean, we're going to Pyro. Besides some paints, there's no ship that's kind of rusty inside or feels like it's going to break apart, like the stations in Pyro. That's what I don't understand. They've worked so long on Pyro planets, gangs, NPCs, clothes but no ship?
I mean, Pyro and all this stuff are cool, and not directly funding the project like ships do. Some graffiti paints don’t cut it, I think. I have a feeling they lost the opportunity to market 4.0 the right way.

Good point. I would assume they want to cover this with the wear and tear system on ships. It used to be more prominent but they dialed it back a while ago
