  • During rush hour, 6th Avenue is filled with a mix of cars, taxis, buses, and delivery trucks, all vying for space on the road. The sidewalks are also crowded with pedestrians rushing to get to work or other destinations. This can make for a chaotic and sometimes stressful experience for those traveling along the avenue.
However, despite the hustle and bustle, 6th Avenue during rush hour can also be an exciting and vibrant place. The street is lined with skyscrapers and office buildings, and there is often a palpable sense of energy and urgency in the air.
One of the most notable landmarks on 6th Avenue is Rockefeller Center, which is located between 47th and 51st streets. This iconic complex is home to the famous ice-skating rink, as well as the Top of the Rock observation deck, which provides stunning views of the city skyline.
I take a walk along 6th Avenue from Bryant Park to Central Park, and then travel on Central Park South to the iconic 5th Avenue Apple Store.

Midtown Manhattan sure was busy during rush hour. 13:53 Interesting history about the two holdout buildings, but they blend in nicely with big building! 😎 14:55 I remember seeing this apple art installation during the holidays, and it's nice to know it's still there. 🍎 Thank you for sharing this informative walk, AK! 🤗

6th Ave is an interesting case. The office inventory is largely big, boxy 70's/80's type construction. Since a lot was overhauled in recent years its well positioned at the moment. In fact, 6th Ave leasing is stronger now than it was in many of the more recent years preceding Covid. Unfortunately, its very much a mixed bag - - go to 3rd/Lexington in the 40's/50's and you'll see an area still struggling to find its footing post-Covid.

It's just people on the streets, automobiles of all types during the rush hours at mid-town Manhattan is hectic but with high rise along its way does offer a brand new kind of thrill and spill and AK just walk and walk til it's dark....

I noticed an old grey colored 1970s Mercedes Benz at a pedestrian crossing. Very nice cars they are. The new Mercedes Benz aren't as nice in car design like the 1970s models. I visited the USA in the 1980s, and American cars were large back then. They are smaller now.
