I met him in person once at comic con in Seattle and wanted a pic… he turned into his Freddy character & said “come here little thing I wanna pull your ponytail!” And the pic I got is him yanking my ponytail with one hand & his Freddy claws at my neck with the other. I framed it lol😆❤️🔥
Love hearing Robert England talk! He’s so articulate and detailed with his words that his stories come perfectly out of his mouth. Such a smart and talented man
From what I've seen of Robert Englund, he is someone who truly appreciates his fans. I've only ever heard of him being gracious and kind, and always up for an autograph and a picture. Great guy.
What a fantastic interview. Saw him at a horror a convention in 2011. They had the entire cast from all the Nightmare movies there and the line for his table was out the door the entire time.
Michael it saddens me to see how you react when you mention your father! Dude you're the best celebrity on UA-cam, your attitude to helping people is second to none and just a few of your words have made my days easier and I'm sure many others.. You are a top class human man! I dwell on my past to much and it saddens me so i feel your pain! P.S an interview with Robert England mind blown dude, love the show, keep em coming and we'll keep watching.
I have seen most of Robert's work but hearing him talk about his work is the best. Great interview and Robert comes across like a guy you could hang out with.
Such a charming man I have had the pleasure of meeting; it was a great memory meeting him with my son. So kind, loving and will always be my favorite actor😇🥰 Love that you had so much fun doing this with him Michael.
He use to babysit my ex girlfriend. Who’s dad was a musician. She spoke very highly of him. I’m a massive fan. He carried her to the beach almost everyday. I seen tons of pictures. Great knowing one of your hero’s was a stand up dude. This was during V and he was gearing up to be Freddy.
Robert England! I am so happy for you Rosey! I know you have been wanting him to come on for a while! -I simply adore this iconic actor and the many roles he has played over the years. I know I am going to hear some amazing behind the scenes stories today. Thank you. Not only for making Tuesdays the best day of the week but as this phenomenal labor of love. Hope you have an amazing week 😀❤️🙏🏻
I have been waiting for this episode! Such a huge Robert Englund fan! Loved that you asked my Ford Fairlane/Andrew Dice Clay question and that he did the infamous line (Hello hello!)😂 Got a cool story off of that question! Looking forward to listening to the whole interview!
I watched Nightmare on Elm Street when I was really young. To this day, Freddy still gives me major heebie-jeebies. He's why I cant to fall asleep in the bathtub. 💤🛀. Those claws! 😅 Trying to psych myself up to watch this. I know it'll be a great episode. 🙏💙
Oh good to know, Mary! I haven't watched it...yet..I keep putting it off.. 😅 I'm working my way into the episode by watching the clips. May need some chamomile tea or something. 😉
Englund is such a great conversationalist. He’s so good at telling stories. Could listen to him forever. Plus he’s a super nice gentleman. I met him at Fanexpo in Toronto in 2014 and he took the time to talk with me. I actually asked him about his classical acting training and his stage work. I think he really appreciated me asking this and took the time to tell me some stories from those days. Fascinating person.
Hey Michael, I met you once at the 2017 Denver Comic Con, I said you where my favorite Lex. I appreciate all the heavy topics you discuss and I can relate. I have Asspergers. Just to watch you talk about these things really makes my days and thank you.
This is going to be a killer episode!! I'm really excited for this one! So happy for you Michael. I know how much you have been wanting to get Robert Englund on the podcast. My brother met him at Fan Expo in Toronto in 2014 and it was one the greatest moments of my brother's life that he will forever cherish. Looking forward to what stories Robert will share especially about Urban Legend. Thank you so much for asking my question ❤️ Keep up the awesome work as always Michael. Thank you so much for all you do. You are seriously the best! Have a wonderful week. Love you and Happy Tuesday 💙
Dude, I love the podcast, but you've been killing it lately with the guests. Also, I saw Urban Legend on VHS back in the day when I was eleven years old.
I’m a Valley girl and pretty much a lifelong fan of Robert Englund. I had no idea he grew up in the San Fernando Valley/LA County where I was born and raised. The first ‘Nightmare’ movie I saw in a theater was part 4 and I remember being the youngest one in that crowded theater in Encino that Friday night so many years ago… I grew up on Freddy Krueger, which was like a really bizarre form of therapy for a kid like me that went through some very bad things. I’m in Orange County now and I still have not met Robert Englund. Meeting him is definitely on my bucket list. I never tire of hearing his stories. Sometimes, I get so wrapped up in listening to his stories, I forget that he played Freddy Krueger! I loved his ‘Phantom of The Opera’. In fact, I recently loaned it to my brother and he lost it, so he just bought me a new copy of it! I only just found out about Robert’s work before NOES, so I will be making a point to watch those older films and V! Looking forward to it. I’m about 2 years late here, but thanks for having Robert on the show. I love him. I love the story of him and his wife too! I love that they’re still together. I’m sure they both have so many great stories! Long live Robert Englund. There will never be another like him and he was the best and only Freddy as far as most of us fans are concerned. 🌹
I saw movies with Freddy Cruger back in the 90s. I'm not a horror movie fan, I'm too impressionable for it, but it"s still a unique and unforgettable memory. Thank you! 💖😘🤗
I met Robert at a convention in Providence, RI back in 2017. He signed my VHS copy of Dream Warriors, as well as a rare promo VHS rental Dream Warriors poster released as a video store only item. Then shortly after, had my pic taken with him, which I have framed. One of the highlights of my life. He’s an excellent human. Huge Freddy fan, obviously.
“V” was required watching at our house when it first aired. The miniseries was BIG in my home country of Puerto Rico 🇵🇷! My cousins and I were all just sweet on Mr. England’s character, Willie, he was so endearing! 🥰 Still at my 48 years of age, I remember this role… and how incredibly messed up my mind was seeing him as the nefarious Freddy Kruger years later 😜 (I wasn’t allowed to watch Nightmare films until I was a teen)! Such a talented actor, multifaceted, and always a joy to see him perform. Great interview!!!
Happy Birthday Robert Englund. I Love Freddy VS Jason. Awesome, it is. May the Peace be with u Freddy Krueger. From Harlingen Texas. June 6, 1947 June 6, 2021 through June 6, 3021
'V' really freaked me out as a kid, when the aliens start peeling off their faces! Again, fantastic guest!!! Can't wait to see who you'll have on next time! You get the best stories out of your guest, Rosey!
Just recently got Hulu and found the show smallville for the first time and cant be more greatful for a show. When I watch I feel Im at home even though Im already at home if that makes sense lol
Just found your channel and I instantly subscribed. Great stuff all around I can't believe I haven't fofound your channel a while ago. Great stuff guy's and thank you for sharing all the info. Have a great day guy's and thank you again.
The whole thing about him not returning for nightmare 2 was because of the film makers thinking they didn’t need him though lol they said it on the documentary “never sleep again” they believed if anyone could play Jason and Michael Myers then anyone could play Freddy.
Freedy still remains my all time favourite horror movie series. The sequels are so much better than Halloween and Friday 13th sequels. Freddy 3 is probably the best sequel ever made in a horror series.
Great show Rosie as usual. On a side note reading through some of the comments and so many people are anti horror. I've been a horror addict since I was a kid.
I’m going to be honest: I’ve suffered from nightmares SPECIFICALLY of Freddy Krueger since I was a child. I am now 35 and STILL have nightmares. This conversation may help me subconsciously though. R.E. is a tremendous actor and I really enjoyed this episode.
I love "Urban Legends"!! I saw it at the Summer Drive-In in Memphis on a double feature with John Carpenter's "Vampires". That was the kind of double feature that drive-in theaters were made for.
Robert Englund Show 1. Freddy Krueger - The Simpsons 1998 2. Jim Bickerman - Lake Placid The Final Chapter 2012 3. Freddy Krueger - Freddy VS Jason 2003 Game 4. Robert - Call Of Duty Black Ops 1 2010
Freddy is definitely an iconic character; although he played a completely different type of character, those that didn't grow up in the 80's will never know how big "V" was when it first premiered.
56:55 😂 Michael was so upset lol I'm Fred Krueger here!! 😂 I spit out my water at this part,Robert is trying to ease his mind lol Telling him about V. I agree with Michael though! I want to make that my ring tone 😂
His room looks alot like mine, movie stuff everywhere, only difference is, his is from the actual movie sets, same taste though. I have a framed gigantic movie poster of the Thing hanging over my bed.
I actually thought about this before considering the similarity, but in light of Kane Hodder having been given the opportunity by way of motion capture for the Friday The 13th video game to reprise his role of Jason Voorhees, has anyone suggested that maybe they could do the movies by having Robert do the voice and maybe some motion capture with a CG version of him as Freddy being used on screen?
I met him in person once at comic con in Seattle and wanted a pic… he turned into his Freddy character & said “come here little thing I wanna pull your ponytail!” And the pic I got is him yanking my ponytail with one hand & his Freddy claws at my neck with the other. I framed it lol😆❤️🔥
hahaha that's fuckin epic!
soooooo lucky!!!
DOPE AF!!!
awesome
Im jelly 😳😳😳😳
Listening to Robert Englund talk is always a real treat. He's an incredible legend.

From what I've seen of Robert Englund, he is someone who truly appreciates his fans. I've only ever heard of him being gracious and kind, and always up for an autograph and a picture. Great guy.
Yep, he’s a genuine nice dude. A rarity in Hollyweird.
What a fantastic interview. Saw him at a horror a convention in 2011. They had the entire cast from all the Nightmare movies there and the line for his table was out the door the entire time.
A living legend and an icon, Freddy!
.
p
He prefers Frederick
Absolutely man he's so iconic
Robert England and Kelly Clarkson with John Bradshaw
You are becoming a (UA-cam) legend yourself. Thx for all the Supernatural uploads!
Peace
Michael it saddens me to see how you react when you mention your father!
Dude you're the best celebrity on UA-cam, your attitude to helping people is second to none and just a few of your words have made my days easier and I'm sure many others..
You are a top class human man!
I dwell on my past to much and it saddens me so i feel your pain!
P.S an interview with Robert England
mind blown dude, love the show, keep em coming and we'll keep watching.
Robert is sooo engaging.. luv his willingness to just share..!
Ironic that this gracious, intelligent, likeable human being is also the reason I had perpetual nightmares for most of childhood
I have seen most of Robert's work but hearing him talk about his work is the best. Great interview and Robert comes across like a guy you could hang out with.
No discussion of Nightmare Cafe?!
Englund is amazing in it. Six episodes and I wish it had two years, but those six are well worth your time.
Such a charming man I have had the pleasure of meeting; it was a great memory meeting him with my son. So kind, loving and will always be my favorite actor😇🥰 Love that you had so much fun doing this with him Michael.
Loved hearing all of Robert’s stories. He seems like a great guy who’s had a very interesting career.
Those two are alike, they played very convincing as bad guys in movies but actually they're nice guys in real life
He use to babysit my ex girlfriend. Who’s dad was a musician. She spoke very highly of him. I’m a massive fan. He carried her to the beach almost everyday. I seen tons of pictures. Great knowing one of your hero’s was a stand up dude. This was during V and he was gearing up to be Freddy.

great Dice story!!
The best ever Freddy Kruger. The first movie that scared the complete pulse rate frenzy in me.
it was a ton of fun. you'll dig it 💙
Oh good to know, Mary! I haven't watched it...yet..I keep putting it off.. 😅 I'm working my way into the episode by watching the clips. May need some chamomile tea or something. 😉
Totally agree !!!
Freddy Kruger has probably saved countless lives of people falling asleep and drowning in their tubs.
Englund is such a great conversationalist. He’s so good at telling stories. Could listen to him forever. Plus he’s a super nice gentleman. One of the GREAT horror actors - was never my cup tea but he brought a monster to screen.
Love Robert Englund, he is bad ass.
Had a nice pandemic watch of all the Freddy Krueger films. This should be good 😎👍

V was huge in Sweden, this was great

His stories about Vincent Price are fantastic too.
What a nice treat! Robert is the best! Loved him in Urban Legend. Amazing Walken impression BTW Michael.
Need another episode just to tour Mr. Englund's collection of memorabilia.
Dude, I love the podcast, but you've been killing it lately with the guests.
Also, I saw Urban Legend on VHS back in the day when I was eleven years old.

I listened to this on my way to work. I am not a horror fan, however I enjoyed the stories that he told. The Star Wars story was my favorite.
I met Robert at a convention in Providence, RI back in 2017. He signed my VHS copy of Dream Warriors, as well as a rare promo VHS rental Dream Warriors poster released as a video store only item. @25:51 Special effects parallel - RE talks about V raising the bar with tv spfx - which is what Smallville did later too.
Do you know I have wanted to see a Heather Langcamp and Johnny Depp reunion for ages now.
Don't hold your breath. Johnny's too much of a diva. I really doubt he's down to Earth enough to be excited about that prospect.
Happy Birthday Robert Englund. I Love Freddy VS Jason. Awesome, it is. May the Peace be with u Freddy Krueger. From Harlingen Texas. June 6, 1947
June 6, 2021 through June 6, 3021

Unmatched. Englund is absolutely irreplaceable.
Can't wait until can listen to this this is so exciting "welcome to prime time"
Freedy still remains my all time favourite horror movie series. The sequels are so much better than Halloween and Friday 13th sequels. Freddy 3 is probably the best sequel ever made in a horror series.
I wish they’d release the tv series on DVD Blu-ray or digital.
I remember Urban Legend fondly. First thing I ever seen you in Michael. Was 17 when it came out. Never drank soda and popping candy together again 😂.
Great show Rosie as usual. On a side note reading through some of the comments and so many people are anti horror. I've been a horror addict since I was a kid.

Awesome!
Glad you think so!
Thank you for this amazing episode! I love funny guys from horrors. 😁 My favorite is Bruce Campbell, he still kicks some asses. 😍
Mister Lu-THOR is how one addresses Gene Hackman.
Robert says Wayne Newton is an encyclopedia of rock. I say Robert is an encyclopedia of Hollywood!
This makes me so happy ❤️
Ah that was amazing. Always thought Robert was an awesome guy. Good stuff for sure:)
Love Freddy, I mean Robert! 😂🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
