No words. Thank you for this. I was in the front row crying my eyes out because this song has meant the world to me for more than 25 years and I was stunned that she felt compelled to play it in Spokane. I just lost one of my own "adopted moms" and singing along to this song has been the way I've grieved her passing. Unbelievably grateful. Thank you. ❤
It's still so beautiful this song, so forgiving and humble, for all those ones who loved life...who sacrificed for goodness and love. Thank you for this song and for honouring those who lived to help others. God blessed all who walk this path, namaste ❤️
Superb!! One of my favorite Natalie songs of all time!!! This is the only live performance of this song that I’ve seen. Thank you so, so much @West Coast Wally for posting!! Cheers!! 💙
45 years old seeing her for the first time next week in LA. Not sure if im going to be able to keep it together. Got my first ticket in 1992 at 14 driving without a license on my way to hollywood to buy tickets to. 10,000 Maniacs show. Pretty excited.
Just discovering this beautiful, emotional performance of "King of May." It reminds me of her more recent "Song of Himself," a praise song to Walt Whitman. I am so moved by both songs, and moved that Natalie honors these two poets this way! Such respect and honor granted by Natalie to other artists!
I was a closeted 18-year-old gay man when I first heard this song, along with Madonna's "The Power Of Good-Bye." These two songs saved me. To this day, I cry.
Wow I am surprised you got away with filming this as she really does not like people filming her as she performs. I was in the front row of this show and enjoyed it without the need of distracting or upsetting Natalie.

Who distracted her?
20k people get to relive this moment and so many of those not fortunate enough to be there also get to experience this.
