Not confusing at all - Hyperspeed editions of Razer mice have been with us for quite some time now. hat we got is pretty much a teaser for Viper V3 Pro that will probably have the same shape, but all the bels and whistles of an enthusiast mouse.
Yeah I think people are missing the idea that they've never shipped a lower-tier version first when debuting a new shape or iteration. And it has features you wouldn't expect for the price - like 4k. And the marketing really aims it at pros but the weight says otherwise. I don't know man, if Razer's own team is confused about it, seems like a fair call.
@@badseedtech the hyperspeed mice have always been slme of my favorites. Usually they're a gen behind though not a gen ahead. The Basilisk was a way to get the old shape of preferred, same with the Deathadder. Also the BT support was super handy for work laptop use. Same way I used my Rival 3 wireless for years. The Orochi v2 is an odd one die to how it was marketed. I however forgot my in Seattle as I was using it as intended as my laptop mouse.
@badseedtech I picked it up with the hyperspeed dongle with plans to use the mouse at work and the dongle for my Deathadder V3 Pro... after trying it out though, I feel like there's a market for the smaller but heavier mice with excellent gaming features. I'm much more steady with it than my Deathadder and that primarily comes down to the weight.
4:42 nah, that's because a lot of people have a weird conception of what a fingertip grip is and grip the mouse steadily at the far front of the mouse while not touching the hump with their palm and thus call it "fingertip"... that's the shittiest fingertip grip you could use and of course a mouse with a flatter profile feels better for this weird grip because the hump is not in the way (because you grip all the way in the front and remove your freedom of movement). The usual fingertip grip also uses the fingertips to maneuver the mouse into all kinds of directions, and to be able to do that the best positions for your fingers on a mouse to place at is in the middle or even behind the middle part of a mouse, not the far front. The point and strength of just using fingertips and nothing else to move the mouse is maneuvering the mouse out of your fingertips like a pencil, it gives you way more adjustability and freedom in mouse movements, and you can't get the full range of motion if your fingertips grip the far front. (like you can't pull the mouse far back into your palm left right up etc.) Usually no matter how big or small your hands are, with the right fingertip grip you'd never have any problems gripping a mouse, even a mouse with the heighest profile or hump. small and flat doesn't mean good for fingertip. For example g703 as a high profile mouse and more of a slightly bigger than medium sized mouse is the goat for fingertip even if you have medium hands. You just grip in the middle and maneuvering is godlike because of the high profile/high and flat sides. Easy to grip and move around with your fingertips. The way you grip and call it "fingertip" far in the front, only because your palm is not touching (big hand) doesn't make it a fingertip, the playstyle comes much closer to a palm grip kinda playstyle ingame actually. It's too stationary for it to be a true fingertip grip
@@itsjaesura Yeah I saw that. Maybe it'll get to under $100. I was thinking about staying wired and trying out the Deathadder V3 but I would rather just keep the Viper shape.
@@vaudou_ yeah hope you can snatch one too man, i actually gave the Viper to my brother and bought a Deathadder V3 Pro for around $75, same store as well, both of them are phenomenal
This would be an absolute banger if it was like 20 grams lighter and Mini sized, but I guess that would really just make it a different mouse. I just want a wireless Viper Mini that doesn't cost over $200.
Actually really excited for this mouse, the battery life of AA and AAA is unmatched and you dont have to worry about battery degradation. definitely upgrading from g305 to this for the 4k polling too.
Another review of confusion, but at least it's confusion and not bashing it for no apparent educated reason. Like another comment said, but more in detail, it's Razer showcasing the newest shape iteration to the viper line, in the form of the budget line hyperspeed, which you yourself choose to keep it heavy at 82 grams or lightweight at 66 grams with a AAA Lithium battery mod. There's even rechargeable ones. So, I think before another reviewer should make any reviews they should really research what's going on. Brandon Taylor by far has made the best review of the mouse, but this is still pointing out a lot of good points. Big fan regardless, however I definitely would not recommend Fresh Reviews anymore as that guy shown repeatable clips and goes off of "trust me bro" talking points instead of actual technical design and purpose. Cheers regardless 🍻
Confusing bc 1) it doesn’t fit the roadmap that they outlined to reviewers and press starting last summer. 2) Razer has never debuted a new iteration of a Pro-tier shape in a Hyperspeed variant. 3) Has features you wouldn’t expect - like 4k support - in an entry level price point. 4) Marketed to us *as* a pro mouse - literally used by pros - yet goes against going lightweight. This isn’t their usual MO.
@@badseedtech those are the exact points I get about the confusion though, so that's why I labeled it as such. It's a true to thought review with actual speculation, while 95 percent of others aren't doing that. That's where I give the review praise entirely. Always a big fan of your reviews and have bought off your reviews in the past, and that won't stop. Just wanted to clarify, same debacle about the cobra pro line. 🥂 cheers
Oof, after using 60g or lower weight mice, I don't know if I can go to 82g. I know you can get it down to 70 with the AAA mod but then you're also spending money on lithium batts.
True, I had to spend $5.79 for 2 AA Lithiums at Target. Which isn’t too bad and since it’s not alkaline, it will get more than the 280hrs Razer advertised.
Man i love the v2 shape and this killed me, i already had the deathadder but the jump to the viper was amazing, idk if i like that much this shape. I'll just wait for the v3 "pro" with real battery and some less weight
If anyone gets this I would recommend AAA to AA converter rather than using tin foil with a lithium AAA battery. It will get the weight down to 69gr. For the price point that's not bad for what this mouse offers.
@@badseedtech Yes, it's one of those things where the Viper is technologically superior, but the (old) shape for me literally hurts my hand after 10 minutes of use.
the blackwidow v4 75 felt like razer listening to consumers so maybe they are going little by little to update products into something their consumers want
No sidegrip? No RGB?? No wireless charging?? Battery life better set to 125hz polling rate... Your right about 1 thing this mouse is confusing as hell😭
they made their version of g305 and called it a day. all they had to change from the viper ultimate was to just give it a usb c port. the v2 and the v3 seems to be going backwards.
I like the shape actually but my issue is that it doesn't slide as much as I expected. I don't know but my G305, even though it's heaver, feels lighter because there's a almost like more friction with Viper V3. I don't know why. I checked but skates doesn't have protection on them... Any idea? It almost feels like the skates are terrible on this.
I'm at the point where I don't feel Logitech and Razer are bringing enough to the table considering their price points. I have always been skeptical of Chinese and Korean brands that come in at a much lower price until I gave them a try myself after reading good reviews (Pulsar X2 Mini Premium black, Fantech Aria XD7) and now on the belief that I shouldn't spend more than $100 for a quality wireless gaming mouse.
I think the skepticism around chinese mice should be declining (if not already gone) lamzu is chinese iirc and they're packing top tier specs for good prices. They came out with a banger for a first mouse too
@@kthekid10 i just got Lamzu atlantis mini pro and than Zaopin Z1 pro for 50$ its exeptionaly good. am exited to play with it every day, one tip i changed zaopins glides to lamzus dot glides it's perfect now.

As someone who really doesn't care about weight within reason, I love AA powered mice. You get so much more battery life and swapping it over takes a couple of seconds of attention every month or so rather than needing to remember to recharge every day or so (or stop playing for 30 minutes to charge it)
mouse] 10/10 dongle] chocolate/10 my g305 broke yesterday and I replaced it with this, and while using it today I forgot I'd replaced my mouse. in other words, it does everything I need it to do with no issues. I like this mouse, but I'm also not an esports pro. for context, I bought the hyperpolling dongle and I cannot tell the difference between it and the included dongle. also the dongle looks like a small chocolate and I like chocolate.
I have really large palms, and have been looking for a bigger yet light mouse. I currenlty use the deathadder v3, but I get cramps in my wrist when using it. I was wondering what larger ultralight mouses you reccomend? I was looking at the model O's newer mouses. Any thoughts?
I'm really of the mindset that super light is not actually great. I prefer something in the range of 70-80 grams for a mouse. The balancing of the weight is far more important to me than if it's under 60 grams or whatever. I have a deathadder v3 pro that normally use for non-mmo gaming and regular use and a naga x for my mmo gaming and I can safely say that the only reason I have not switched away from the deathadder v3 is because it literally has the perfect shape for me.
"At a shocking price of 69.99$" and "a cheap knockoff" of 150$ mouse with the main "feature" of not having any. Or anything "distracting", I guess. Whatever reasons or circumstances connect this with the buyers are, of course, all valid. What's mindboggling and insane is how natural and "as expected" it feels to pay 150$ for a fucking barebones "Pro Gaming" plastic. 13400f is 200$. OG wired Viper released at 80$. Diablo and 2K are priceless. The Business of Mainstream Digital Entertainment is genuinely an astonishing human achievement.
saw this yesterday, thought of moving from my viper ultimate because it is battle worn didn't understand the AA battery though? it sounds a little silly but i would rather have a rechargeable battery because although the dock needs cleaning so it can charge because i know it is "off" and not draining the battery when im not using it adding: definitely a mouse i would have to try in store or at a friends house before buying myself
IMO, I like the mechanical switch better than the optical switch, better feedback and less unnecessary noise. It’s still crispy enough for the confirmation. Hopefully 60million lifespan will be long enough.
Repair support for this mouse, being a wireless, can we easily switchs as Razer mechanical switch are prone to double clicks on regular use in a year or 2?
Yeah this is confirmed as the new shape going forward. They're not confimring any Pro or Mini variant - but you have to imagine its coming. Just not sure why they opted to release the lower tier version as the launch of the shape.
All they need to do is make a Viper Ultimate modern (USB-C, 2 buttons on BOTH SIDES so its truly ambi, and 4K dongle compatible) then they will have my money but until then I'm gonna drive my Viper Ultimate from 2019 into the ground
My front side button moves alot its not firm in place my back one is perfectly firm. I bought tthe mouse second hand is it because its second hand or does a new one have the same problem?😊
I've tried rechargeable batteries and it's always below 50% even when the battery is fully charged, I wanted to know if it's a software issue or I got a defective unit, did your unit have an issue like that?
Using a viper ultimate when i could not longer buy feet for my "2014 death adder" and the v2 pro viper came out. just put new feet on his one. Not gonns pay 150$ for an razer mouse.. i wait for the V3 so i can buy the v2 for 70$ like i did this one (black Friday last year) (oh got a Ninjutsu Sora and Origen x, Steelseries prime mini, Lamzu Atlantis mini :P oh an i get replacement FEET with them) And ye i got two Razer Boomslang's one new in the box, b.t.w. boomslang is dutch for "Tree Snake" (who do you think came up with the name :P )
Battery powered? Not a buy for me. Had the orochi v2 for a year and swapping batteries got old fast. I just got tired of thinking about if the battery is going to die anytime soon
Personally i think its nice that razer released more variety. Razer did listen, and the customers are just hella annoying. When they released the DA V3 PRO. People kept complaining about how its so expensive, its just lightweight, they prefer the old Viper ultimate with more functions. They did listen and released Cobra, and yet people are still complaining. At this point razer is just releasing different kind of mouse for different customer with different preferences and budgets, so Im all for it.
i actually prefer heavier mice , so this mouse is for me , got it for 20 bucks after a gift card , i really have enjoyed the new shape of the viper , i found previous versions of the viper to be to flat , so this new shape is a lot better
I hope it is not the same coating as the Razer Mamba back in 2012. I had that one and after the coating wore off it became sticky af underneath. I don't recommend any (cheap) mouse from Razer...
Moving the hump a bit to the back tempts me into getting the v3, but with no optical switches, I will definitely NOT be getting it. I destroy mechanical switches fast for some reason.

What I learned over the years is that ambi mice are horrible for fingertip grip and ergo mice are perfect for it.
Hopefully this means a nice price on the Viper V2 Pro on Black Friday since I do like the regular Viper shape a great deal.
Amazon has it at 110 USD at the time of writing.
@@itsjaesura Yeah I saw that. Maybe it'll get to under $100. I was thinking about staying wired and trying out the Deathadder V3 but I would rather just keep the Viper shape.
Snatched a second-handed Viper V2 Pro from Taobao (China) for $61 lol, it's unbeatable at that price
@@Agent_Alpha_SLV That's a damn good deal. Good job on that
@@vaudou_ yeah hope you can snatch one too man, i actually gave the Viper to my brother and bought a Deathadder V3 Pro for around $75, same store as well, both of them are phenomenal
This would be an absolute banger if it was like 20 grams lighter and Mini sized, but I guess that would really just make it a different mouse. I just want a wireless Viper Mini that doesn't cost over $200.
aaa lithium ion brings it to like 68
Went from model o, to aerox 3, to LG super light, back to model O v2, and now this…. This is by far my favorite feeling
Actually really excited for this mouse, the battery life of AA and AAA is unmatched and you dont have to worry about battery degradation. definitely upgrading from g305 to this for the 4k polling too.
I have the basilisk ultimate I think it's called? With the charging dock for it. All lights off it lasts weeks. But with the lights on it dies so fast
I have a g305 too is it worth the upgrade?
5:30 Bryan …. Never underestimate the power and performance and simplicity of a ‘Jank Mod’ as many do it with all their stuff, pc related or not 💪✊👍🥰😇
Another review of confusion, but at least it's confusion and not bashing it for no apparent educated reason.
Confusing bc
1) it doesn’t fit the roadmap that they outlined to reviewers and press starting last summer.
🥂 cheers
@@BravenTyler Appreciate you man!
does mechanical mean it could eventually double click?
.
I'll just wait for the v3 "pro" with real battery and some less weight
the part i hate bringing out a new shape and magically the shape everyone used to love goes in the trash can (DAv2 for example)
If anyone gets this I would recommend AAA to AA converter rather than using tin foil with a lithium AAA battery. It will get the weight down to 69gr. For the price point that's not bad for what this mouse offers.
tin foil is lighter
Still maining Orochi v2. Why? Shape & size.
Banger mouse. Mained it for a really long time despite it being marketed as a hybrid work/gaming mouse.
@@badseedtech Yes, it's one of those things where the Viper is technologically superior, but the (old) shape for me literally hurts my hand after 10 minutes of use.
I've had the v2 pro for a while now, absolutely love it. For the price this mouse seems really good
the blackwidow v4 75 felt like razer listening to consumers so maybe they are going little by little to update products into something their consumers want
No sidegrip? No RGB?? No wireless charging?? Battery life better set to 125hz polling rate... Your right about 1 thing this mouse is confusing as hell😭
Finally something I was waiting for. I have the orochi v2 and its a bit small for me.
they made their version of g305 and called it a day. all they had to change from the viper ultimate was to just give it a usb c port. the v2 and the v3 seems to be going backwards.
Felt the same way thats why i changed mine to jade dot skates. I feel thay the lift off distance is a bit low even set to high in synapse.
Korean ones are well made, they are cheap since its got many more brands to compete with. its the chinese one that causes so much trouble its more like a scam lol.
As someone who really doesn't care about weight within reason, I love AA powered mice. You get so much more battery life and swapping it over takes a couple of seconds of attention every month or so rather than needing to remember to recharge every day or so (or stop playing for 30 minutes to charge it)
Exactly. Not to mention you can buy rechargeable AAA batteries and get a battery adapter to further reduce the weight.
@@Private-lw1tdtheres battery adapter for triple aaa? :o
@@tryfergoodra552 yes. Its like a plastic case the size of a double A battery.
Wait so these switches are actually Mechanical? The Orochi V2 Kailh Green dot is actually a good switch
Yep! And I like em better than the opticals fr
mouse] 10/10
dongle] chocolate/10
my g305 broke yesterday and I replaced it with this, and while using it today I forgot I'd replaced my mouse. in other words, it does everything I need it to do with no issues.
I like this mouse, but I'm also not an esports pro. for context, I bought the hyperpolling dongle and I cannot tell the difference between it and the included dongle.
also the dongle looks like a small chocolate and I like chocolate.
Is it noticeably better than the g305?
Why wouldnt u recommend the AAA with foil? Modder's been doing it for years and it sheds a ton of weight.
I was thinking that they might release a mini version of this mouse real soon.
honestly, imo, most likely not XD
@@TeaTehMan They might, or a Pro version based on this shape. We'll see, I guess.
saw this yesterday, thought of moving from my viper ultimate because it is battle worn
didn't understand the AA battery though? it sounds a little silly but i would rather have a rechargeable battery because although the dock needs cleaning so it can charge because i know it is "off" and not draining the battery when im not using it
adding: definitely a mouse i would have to try in store or at a friends house before buying myself
IMO, I like the mechanical switch better than the optical switch, better feedback and less unnecessary noise. It’s still crispy enough for the confirmation. Hopefully 60million lifespan will be long enough.
At this point the Cobra is better
I think some guy just accidentally named this the viper v3 and they just went with it
Repair support for this mouse, being a wireless, can we easily switchs as Razer mechanical switch are prone to double clicks on regular use in a year or 2?
The main reason I got a GPX Superlight is because I was tired of buying batteries for my Rival 3 wireless.
Viper v3 pro coming soon? They changed the deathadder shape. Next is the viper.
Yeah this is confirmed as the new shape going forward. They're not confimring any Pro or Mini variant - but you have to imagine its coming. Just not sure why they opted to release the lower tier version as the launch of the shape.
dongle storage under the battery kinda dumb if you want to store the dongle need to always take out the battery
What mouse do you recommend me for gaming i use now the deathadder v2. I have the same massive hands as you 20 10,5cm
Hopefully you get your hands on the lamzu thorn 4k
Keen to try it out. However I wonder if I just get the mew superlight 2
you mean razer made a knockoff logitech mouse
Damnnn this guy actually foresaw the future and leaked the viper v3 pro @ 7:15
DROP HAS A CTRL V2 AND ALT V2 PLEASE CHECK IT OUT AND DO AND UPDATED REVIEW
I hope they come with a caps lock key
All they need to do is make a Viper Ultimate modern (USB-C, 2 buttons on BOTH SIDES so its truly ambi, and 4K dongle compatible) then they will have my money but until then I'm gonna drive my Viper Ultimate from 2019 into the ground
And all that I want is a Wireless version of the Deathadder V2 Mini :(
how large are ur hands? i have big hands and ft grip considering this and v2pro , im scared of connection issues with v2pro
My front side button moves alot its not firm in place my back one is perfectly firm. I bought tthe mouse second hand is it because its second hand or does a new one have the same problem?😊
5:45 theres proper adapters for dirt cheap to convert the battery ahah no need to set your house on fire with alluminium foil ahahah
Not gonns pay 150$ for an razer mouse.. i wait for the V3 so i can buy the v2 for 70$ like i did this one (black Friday last year)
(oh got a Ninjutsu Sora and Origen x, Steelseries prime mini, Lamzu Atlantis mini :P oh an i get replacement FEET with them)
And ye i got two Razer Boomslang's one new in the box, b.t.w. boomslang is dutch for "Tree Snake" (who do you think came up with the name :P )
Battery powered? Not a buy for me. Had the orochi v2 for a year and swapping batteries got old fast. I just got tired of thinking about if the battery is going to die anytime soon
I like how its flatter i hated the concave buttons was just a waste of space and means more wear in the center since it sucks you in.
I don't know why people compared this to the V2 Pro but then again there aren't any V2 on the market. Maybe we'll find a V3 Pro in the future.
Is better than deathadder v2 pro?
I hope it is not the same coating as the Razer Mamba back in 2012. I had that one and after the coating wore off it became sticky af underneath.
I don't recommend any (cheap) mouse from Razer...
Moving the hump a bit to the back tempts me into getting the v3, but with no optical switches, I will definitely NOT be getting it. I destroy mechanical switches fast for some reason.
This is like a budget/downgraded, symmetrical version of the DAV3. It's wild.
Razer Viper V3 is more like Viper V2 Pro and Deathadder V3 Pro having a baby but use battery instead.
PLEASE ADD MORE BINDS AND BUTTONS. RAZER, LOGITECH, ANYOBODY. FPS PLAYERS LIKE BINDS TOO. I DONT WANT TO CHOOSE BETWEEN A LIGHT MOUSE WITH 2 BINDS, AND A HEAVY CINDERBLOCK WITH 87 BINDS. PLEASE MAKE A HYBRID FOR REGULAR PEOPLE OMFG PLEASE SOMEBODY
Look very g pro wireless shape. I get cramp in my little finger when i had a the viper wireless. Couldnt get used to it but the g pro just fit me perfectly
News flash, the texture is the best texture atm, this isn't some cheap knockoff, same texture as the current competitive fps mouse which is the logitech g superlight/2 as well as the razer death adder v3 pro. Here is 3 days you will see the Viper v3 pro will have the same texture.
Starting a comment with “news flash” is hilarious
Why not make a Orochi pro like ditch the AA/AAA battery and make it 4k
they are trying to compete with G305 i bet. 280hours and cheap? its awesome
Though the hyperspeed version is a bit confusing, but I'm not gonna like I am expecting the Pro version to be much more comfronting.
Man...UGREEN is really pushing the marketing on that 300W charger. Maybe review that instead!
Haha mannnn. I was pretty skeptical about even looking at a GaN charger but I legit LOVE this thing. They really wanted the ad spot to read like an actual commercial, but I use this thing for everything - I can charge all my studio accent lights at one time. Thing is brilliant.
Thanks for the love and yeah! I've seen the same model on several of my favorite tech channels! I have a Steamdeck, a phone, a tablet and my laptop. Needless to say I'm curious about its capabilities! @@badseedtech
Razer viper v3 or steel series prime mini?
I like the pricepoint but yea a AA battery is wild in a gaming mouse.
I actually disagree about his take on the coating it definitely collects more fingerprints but it’s the closest we ever got to the superlight coating
this mouse is really nice to replace my old one,g603,replaceable battery is
so good that i can even after 3 or 4 months to replace it.
It looks nice. I would probably give it a try if I didn't just get wlmouse
release date of this mouse ?
this is great and all but where is the mini pro?
I like the knowledge you share about weight modding, thank you!!!!!
Looks like a response to the ever so popular G Pro Wireless, undercutting it in price too
BadSeed Tech, Thank you very much!
the viper v2 pro is such a godlike mouse that its worth it to pay more.
Wait I think I might have played with a Gordon Ramcheeks in CoD not long ago
Entirely possible. Its my shit account that I test stuff on.
Viper v2 and dav3 wired had a child😂
Great info....that being aside...i really like ur beard 🫠
For me the only real con is the coating, that looks like it's gonna get oily pretty fast. I think the switches are actually a plus and the AA battery is mostly a plus I you don't mind the weight. Still might give this a try if it's priced reasonably in the EU.
The coating is fine, you see a couple finger prints when your using the mouse but it goes away on its own in time
after glorious, now razer has fallen from competitive mouse market. so long Razer. your legacy is unforgettable.
This one looks interesting, you can probably solder a battery and usb c port, that is what i did to my g305 and i love it but i would definitely go for something lighter
The weight doesn’t bother me. I think people use it as an excuse lol
Still waiting on viper mini wireless
personally i dont like the way it looks, the edges in the front and dpi button make it look bad
I dont get it why needs mini of this...
Looks like those microsoft mice from early 2000s... but it's matte black!
Was looking promising, but not being able to charge it on the fly is a no go nowadays.
