Man your technique is incredible u nail everything u play especially pink floyd iv been studying gimours guitar solos for 25cyrs years and I'm still learning by ear he's music I appreciate your lessons yur best on pink floyd very accurate and original thank u
I really want to thank you for this video. I'm still working on the solo. I haven't been playing that long, but it's the first time I have really made my guitar screech like that and actually sound great! It felt so good that I started laughing. I have been waiting my whole life to feel that.
I've been playing for a year and a half and have learned this in a day, In a DAY! I couldn't for the life of me think I would ever learn a solo in a day. Thanks a ton, Bobby!
You just kicked some serious ass there Bobby! Damn! I've been playing almost a year so I suck, but I know just about every Pink Floyd song to the note in my head& I hope to God someday I can do what you just did!
so im picking up the guitar again after many years of absence...i was watching this video and palying along amd now i got a giant blister across the tip of my left ring finger.probably from all the crazy bends in this song and my fingers not being conditioned.
I love this kind of lesson, doesn't try to make it easy just tells you what was on the record and trust you to get there with practice! Definitely saving this thanks!
Lesson is : Phrasing, interesting how he finds a couple of notes and rides them, that's a great lesson on the pentatonic box and the Frying Pan when he extends it down and goes behind the 12 fret. I have tried to play along with this lead a few times for fun and it's seemed like he was in a lot more positions.
Yup this is the tutorial il be learning from! Well played sounds right on the money! Wait no money is a whole different solo 😁. Thanks for this great thing.
I just love that you taught the entire solo with the fade away in the end, which is one of my fav parts of the solo itself, true respect to the solo 👏💯❤️
This is a fantastic tutorial. Im only half way through and it's so much fun. I like how quickly it moves at the drum roll after the first funky chord bit, into the classic Gilmour lick e minor 1 position. I struggled with the timing but when you get it, WOW what a thrill. Dont hesitate in you go! So funky!. Thanks Bobby, great teaching. I will check out the courses I think.
Amazing man. Most of this is just pretty standard Pentatonic stuff but how you’re able to navigate through such similar riffs over and over and the whole thing adds up to such an iconic solo. Same with comfortably numb…such a skill. Just blows me away.
Mr. Harrison you rock !!!it’s players like you and many others Page,, SRV,,It’s you guys that influenced me to pick up the Guitar!!! Keep up the great work!! keep bringing the great videos
You played a beautiful solo of your own in Red Rocks brit floyd concert..another brick on the wall was the song..please, share it with us. It was awesome.
I just subscribed to your channel. Glad to see you are still playing. I loved your guitar playing in the 2011 Pink Floyd tribute,, and let us not forget the Red Rocks concert! Awesome!!!
There’s plenty of Floyd solos out there still with no lessons. Pigs, dogs, great day for freedom, what you what from me, thin ice, echoes(lol), and atom heart mother funky. Obviously I’m not asking you to do all hahah but if you can just do a lesson on pigs a lot of us Floyd geeks would appreciate it. No one out there is good enough to cover it I guess haha
Sh1t ! That's amazing! I've spending some time in other lessons but none of them fitted so well to what I can actually listen on the album. Thank you so much! Now I`ll dedicate myself to learn it, not sure if my strings will handle so much bends though.
Hi Bobby, please make a video of where you tell and show how to play the guitar in the funky part of the song echoes. I really like your performance and I would like to learn how to play it like you!
Este solo, despues de comfortbly numb, creo q es el segundo mejor solo de Gilmour, en mi parecer claro, ya lo estoy tocando, exelente tu explicacion Bobby, gracias y un saludo desde Mar del Plata, Argentina.
Thank you very much. The guitar was hand built by Eternal Guitars in Chichester UK. They also make pickups under the name of "Hot Rod Pickups". The set in this guitar consists of two "Timeless" single coils in the neck and middle positions and the amazing "S92" in the bridge.
This is such an incredible lesson! thank you Bobby! You are my favorite teacher by far. I was wondering if you could do a short lesson on the ‘mother’ solo. There’s plenty of online stuff but I would like to have you teach the mother solo. And especially the extended version which I can’t find anywhere -I saw a great UA-cam video with David Gilmour and Roger and he did an extended version of the mother solo, which sounds really great. I wish it was played all the time. Are you familiar with the extended version of the mother solo? Anyway thank you again for all your awesome lessons.🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️🎸🎸🎸👍👍
Thanks man, this is one of those Gilmour solos that is so tricky re: phrasing. Are you the guitarist from Brit Floyd? The Live at Red Rocks show is absolutely phenomenal.
@@BobbyHarrisonGuitar I love that show. You, Damien & co. absolutely killed it. I must have watched it 20 times. "Dogs" was perfection! Well done, mate. Srsly. Thanks for your reply.
@@BobbyHarrisonGuitar I'd love to know your "rig rundown" for that show. I think musicman Strat and a Blackstar amp, but that's all I could see. Suppose it's trade secrets? Everyone wants that Gilmour lead tone, myself included. It's so elusive. I presume he achieved a lot with sheer volume.
Hi Matt. Do you mean the Red Rocks show? I was using a Suhr Custom S-type into a Cornford MK50 mkII head with a TC Electronic G System handling all of the delays, reverbs and modulation. I think I had a few pedals too. Definitely a Suhr Riot and a Shiba Drive and maybe a Keeley Compressor, but it's a long time since I've used that setup. I don't even own a G System anymore. I later moved onto a Fractal rig, but now I tour with a Kemper Profiler because it sounds amazing and is so easy to tour with. I've never subscribed to this purist ideal that in order to play Pink Floyd music, you need to duplicate Gilmour's rig. Few who feel that way have never tried to lug something of that scale and size around the world and those that have, usually have a tech to do it for them and a backup for everything. In my experience, achieving the desired sound is infinitely more about the player than the gear. The more moving parts you add, the higher the chances of something breaking. Also, I've seen people with all the gear who sound nothing like the man himself. A lot can be achieved with a good basic tone (be it valve or digital), the required effects and good ears and fingers.
The pickups and the guitar were hand built by Dave Walsh at Eternal Guitars & Hot Rod Pickups in Chichester. They're the best guitars and pickups I've ever used. The pickup set consists of Hot Rod Pickups "Timeless" single coils in the neck and middle and and "S92" single coil in the bridge. They're just brilliant. I have a bunch of demo videos on my channel that I made for Eternal Guitars & Hot Rod Pickups.
Hello Bobby! I very like your style and I'll follow this lesson to learn the solo. I have to practice a lot the funky rhythm part because I'm not very familiar with it. Anyway, can I ask which sound are you using? Is a little bit crunchy, isn't it? Or something else? Thank you in advance! You Rock! Greetings from Italy!
Good job, Bob 👍👍by the way. Did you use a mirror for producing this vid, cause you're lefthanded guitarplayer. Shine on and have a fine day. Greets Alex ☺🎸
I doubt it if Gilmore himself could reproduce those funky parts! Especially the last part, seems like a different take mixed to the rest of the solo. Could be he played it like that at some point but couldn't replicate it as good ever again!
