  • It's the next pair of paradoxes! Not too many left... but these two aren't really useful, sadly.
Their extra actions are as usual: for 5-minute raids with x20 HP, at 85% time remaining Sandy Shocks uses Sunny Day and Iron Thorns uses Electric Terrain, and at 40% time or 55% HP remaining the shield goes up (covering 25% of max HP); at 75% HP Sandy Shocks uses Gravity while Iron Thorns uses Curse, at 50% they reset their debuffs, at 40% they steal a tera orb charge, and at 25% they wipe your buffs. It's a 5-star raid so they're level 75, nothing too hard.
0:00 - Sandy Shocks with Gliscor
1:45 - Sandy Shocks with Umbreon
Sandy Shocks (commonly tera ice) has regular moveset of Discharge, Earth Power, Flash Cannon... and Eerie Impulse, the rare -2 SpA support move. Sandy Shocks does have slightly better defense than special defense so Eerie Impulse definitely incentivizes you to run a physical attacker... but y'know, you can use whatever, it's not like you'll always be debuffed.
Since I had to pub for this I build a new Gliscor support set (since, y'know, it's immune to both ground and electric)... but it only gets Screech, (awkward when pubs are special attackers) and also I was annoyed at Gravity-cancelling-Flying wasting extra time, and so I ended up swapping to an Umbreon midway through, as it gets access to both Screech and Fake Tears plus can still Snarl. My early strat was pretty fixed: Screech/Fake Tears (depending on allies) then attack cheer and hope other pubs pick up on it and try to oneshot it, and then Snarl before sun goes up (and Light Screen after) so that Protosynthesis buffs speed instead of special attack in case pubs fail and the raid goes long.
3:42 - Iron Thorns with Annihilape
    7:52 - Iron Thorns with Kommo-o
Iron Thorns (commonly tera bug) has regular moveset of Stone Edge, Supercell Slam, Earthquake, and Pin Missile. Quite a weird, diverse moveset, not something you can easily resist all of... In past 5-star raids I'd usually try consistent lifedrain strats but I didn't even bother here: Ceruledge's Bitter Blade would work well against bug but Stone Edge (and Earthquake) would probably do too much damage back, and Bellibolt's Parabolic Charge (targeting its lower special defense) would also take a lot from Earthquake...
However, because of Pin Missile being a multi-hit move, Annihilape ends up being a fun pick for this because you can get two to five boosts to Rage Fist per turn! A single Bulk Up is generally enough extra bulk to survive (especially if you roll an Intimidate ally, which similarly shifts Quark Drive from boosting attack to defense) at which point you can just spam Metronome-boosted Rage Fist.
Unfortunately a single Belly Drum then STAB strong move isn't quite enough to oneshot (though maybe inserting an attack cheer would), but Kommo-o having access to Screech is certainly more than enough, so when a random tera type was fighting-weak then you could pretty reliably go for a quick-kill instead.
