Cool find !! This has to be one of the coolest amreps I have seen !! but definitly a genius way to deal with one way streets but I would love to see it in an alley I bet it would work well !! And it was also very cool to see all the trash falling out too !! and the packer must be very fast too to be able to keep up Very cool find and thanks for sharing it I Enjoyed it !!
this thing has some pretty good reach from the looks of it considering it has a mini arm. 6:26, if that was the first clip I would've completely expected the truck to come from the other direction haha awesome video
I've wanted to see this in action for a long time. Thank you for getting this! This is the best invention! In my opinion, the best modified truck out there. This is amazing! A very cool truck. Nice filming work too!
avoid a lot of unnecessary backing down alleys and/or tight streets. Great job! At least they don't buy Labrie (yet...) where they'd just get the dual-arm Expert 2000. VERY unique. Love the tag fourth-to-last...haha.
Woahh! Excellent find! I figured it was just a matter of time until someone gets out there to film it. So, if there's only one truck, what do they do for trash and recycling? I see they have some Ellipticals out there, but they can't do the other side? I suppose they just empty it and come back later. I wonder if this truck will be a one-of-a-kind for long, or if CR&R or Amrep starts making trucks like this for alleys and one way streets. Made me think of Camarillo Springs, it could (cont)
What an awesome truck! The mesh front bulkhead and clearly visible packer make the thing way more fun to watch. Funky hopper doors too. The whole truck has a cobbled together in the back of the shop feel to it. Oh and of course great job filming it!
Yeah I think we started seeing those around 2007 or 2008? this custom job was done long before that, but likely served as some level of inspiration for Labrie
What!,?!?!? This thing is beast! Freakin' awesome! One of a kind. That design on the grill is odd. So is this thing divided on the inside or is it just sent in different times? Awesome footage!!! This thing is a wonder.
Well that wasn't exactly how I pictured this video being, but it's still pretty fucking awesome. I can't believe they came up with this! Now you know what it's like filming on another continent haha from the wrong side of the road! See, I thought he did both sides at the same time, not just one side. Kind of interesting! Lots of surprises from CR&R! Awesome footage!!! And btw what's so bad about a garbage truck going against traffic? haha I kid
Wow, considering the costs of fuel it is suprising that they did not look into other ways for collecting this area. It almost seems like a split truck would not be bad, at least to make it one load less (using both sides for trash, then comming back and using half for recycle and half for Yard Waste)
Took me a while until I realised he was actually collecting on the other side of the road; wasn't until that other Amrep came into view doing the normal side haha I thought this truck was used in tight streets where he actually dumps carts on both sides as he passes in a single sweep, but it's really only used to do one side or it depends on the area? Cool to see a customised truck with dual arms, also a drop frame ASL :D Too bad he didn't rev up while lifting. When you were beside him near the beginning I heard him say something about burning the transmission - just put it in neutral then eh?
+MitchellM15 yeah he does do two sides, just in separate sweeps because otherwise he'd be weaving across traffic (of which there's actually a fair amount through these one-ways). I thought the same thing about 'well, put it in neutral!' but figured maybe he was in fact doing that and it's what caused problems, like the trans didn't like shifting all day or something. Idk, some trucks are finicky as you probably know.
Very true, you have a good point there. But if there are only three streets, then it almost seems like this truck itself was a waste of money. I wonder what made them even choose to modify this truck, rather then keep it as a MSL and just double side with it. If it is only three streets, then it seems wasteful to pay for the modifications. Although this truck is insanely cool, so from an enthusiast point of view this is awesome and worth it.
This truck is use for Trash, Recycle, And Green. I was the one who saw it one and took the first pictures of this truck. Then later uploaded to Flickr. I wonder if it going to be another Amrep that's going to replace this. CNG? LNG?
Wow! That is realy freaking cool. So the PD complained and they only modified one truck, what do they send out if this truck is down? It would have been a good idea to have two of these ready. I wonder if they will make another custom truck once this one needs to be replaced. Or if they will go with a dual arm Labrie.
Nevermind rgd. the separate streams, watched it again and noticed at the end it was collecting the tan and blue barrels. Gotta be more observant next time, sorry...
How much time if any do these garbage trucks save. The city I work for are fixen to. Buy a automated garbage truck. I hope they give me a raise. Since they going to save money loll.

Awesome video!!! Glad you filmed this! Deff a cool piece of equipment! This is probably my favorite video you have posted.
Great job I always imaged if their was a truck like this were is this

Labrie has dual arm Expert helping hands now. It's how they do the alleys in Fort Wayne Indiana now.

Great catch, and cool truck!
This truck is awesome. I didnt know they existed! Great job!
why does the right side gripper stay up in a dump position like that?

Very cool video! Not many dual-armed ASL's out there. Can the driver switch from arm to arm while sitting on one side?

Cool truck! I wonder if it's still around? I notice that CR&R got rid of a lot of there older trucks. I think they only use two types now.
Sure am, sending you a message now...
Very Interesting rig!
That truck is a beast how old is this truck?
Yes the amrep finally comes to the land down under:P
The video looks like it is for a movie trailer lol.
I have a lose tooth!
