This is the best golf video I’ve ever seen. I’ve been drilling home the right elbow sensation and good setup position on the range. I’m getting the club in a 100% better position. This is going to make a huge difference in my game. Nice content, keep it up!
I love that you guys focus on the hands not getting deep, but instead staying in front of your chest at all times. I've been getting too deep for years, and it's a ball striking killer. When I focus on a backswing that solely relies on my chest taking the club back my ball striking improves dramatically. Great work guys.
For some reason, this just clicked! For a guy who struggles with a right arm getting behind and backswing getting too long, this just turned the lightbulb on! Thank you.
That’s awesome! Thank you for sharing! This is exactly why we do what do! To help as many people as possible play better golf and enjoy the worlds greatest game more than ever!
This video changed my game! I always missed left and thin and I no my hands usually get Behind me but couldent get the feeling or position right.Especially since I have a strong grip and I use my right hand for everything I for use it to much in my swing. And as soon as I felt like my right arm wasent doing anything anymore and I used my left arm for the whole swing and pushing my hands down my feet line like he said it clicked! It worked and stripe it way more Consistently! Thank you!

I am nearly 60 years old, live in New Zealand and hitting the ball better than previous years thanks to online PORZAK golf tuition. Your video content is brilliant, with great and simple explanation. Keep it going please.
Thank you so much for sharing! We will keep it up! This is exactly why we do what do! To help as many people as possible play better golf and enjoy the worlds greatest game more than ever!
Thank you so much! Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication! We appreciate you watching and are so happy to help you understand the game better!
excellent lesson, totally makes sense when you talked about that elbow cheating the turn instead of the shoulders doing it. looks like i got some work to do.
You got this! The human body and mind are amazing. They will always try to find a shortcut with the least resistance. We always say consistent thoughts lead to consistent shots.
I think this is going to change my swing dramatically I’m hoping. I do way too much with the right arm and I’ve never heard the breakdown of what the arms should be doing like in this video before. Have a hard inside takeaway with right arm getting too far behind me. Can’t wait to take this to the course
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. No single real life lesson I had matches your quality. I’ve been watching a lot of your videos, and I’m finally getting all the fundamentals together. Connected backswing, hand in front of the chest (that took a while), left hip back in the downswing and pushing the handle forward to neutralise the clubface without any manipulation. Now trying to get all this together in practice, too bad u guys are located in the US 😭
Thank you so much Tim! This is exactly why we do what we do! To help as many people enjoy this great game as possible! We do offer two virtual learning options. Both have a proven track record of succes! Our online lesson program is the best in the game and will give you your personal blueprint to the golf swing with the least amount of manipulation! It includes a side by side video analysis, a personal video from us, personalized notes and drills and a 1 week feedback period to send any videos or questions. The platinum and platinum eliete come with all of the above as well as a 1/2hr live FaceTime with Adam or Mike! Our Porzak Golf Masterclass is the step by step video guide to the golf swing with the least amount of manipulation and is an incredible reference or index of everything we do! It also includes all future masterclasses(short game or putting 2023). The cool thing is it comes with membership to our private Facebook group where you get some exclusive content, you can post swings, ask questions, and recieve feedback from us. We also host live group video sessions at least 1/quarter. You can find both on our website porzakgolf.myshopify.com Please let us know if you have any questions! Thank you!
Ive been working on this exact same issue (club in front of the body) for the past month and couldn't get it fixed... I just ran into this video and I had an epiphany. Wow can't wait to try this out on the range. Thanks!
That’s awesome Manny! Thank you so much for sharing! We always got you whatever you need brother! Let us know if there’s something else you’re working on in your golf swing!
I can relate to the trail arm fault. I’m short in stature and a little muscular in the upper body and have a difficult time getting my elbows to stay close to each other. I needed this, thanks!
Actually what you need DJ is to get your arms on top of your chest! This will make your life trying to get your elbows close together way way easier. This is a huge huge thing for anybody with a big her stature or a really muscular physique or chest! simply said over the golf ball stand up lift your hands above your head in front of you and then lower your arms down to regular setup and you’ll feel your arms relax more on top of your chest. Let us know how it goes!
The trail arm and trail hand is very passive during the golf swing. Ben Hogan talked about wanting one only moments before impact when he could extend through the golf ball and he wished he had three trail arms and hands to apply three times the power!
Something worth noting is the importance of keeping that arm structure, not just in the backswing, but in the downswing as well. Because our elbows will naturally separate slightly at the top, as our hands travel a further distance than our bodies rotation, many players will leave that separation or even increase it during the downswing. An effective feeling during the downswing js bringing those elbows back together, focusing on keeping that right elbow in front. I like the sensation of initiating the downswing with the right elbow, and feeling like its beating my entire right side to the golf ball. If you record yourself DTL, you can notice just how drastically a small change in right elbow position will change the steepness of the club.
I just found your channel and i have been watching as many videos as i can! I just started playing golf a little less than a year ago but very eager to learn more and more and continue to improve. Being a leftie, i would love to see some tutorials from the left side to get more of the look and feel for certain body positioning. Love the videos that i have watched so far and looking forward to watching all of them. :)
My miss is left and sometimes heavy. Literally never miss right other than occasionally with driver, maybe once in 20. This is so useful thank you again! It’s like you somehow know what’s wrong with my game, serendipitous!
Haha! Believe it or not, Steven, you’re not the only one who misses heavy and left, and we’ve got the solutions for all of you!!! Thank you so much for watching. Please let us know if there’s anything else you need to work on in your game!
@@PorzakGolf just wanted to say I tried this at the range last night. Using my biceps to squeeze my pecks actually gave me some good connection and kept my chest pointing at hands. I was fizzing some 4 irons out past 220.. Yet again your advice has really worked. Thank you!
Great lesson and video. I suffer from this very same thing (I am sure there are other faults as well but I know this is one of them). I film my swing over and over again and consistently see this fault in my swing. Lately I have been working on better rotation which has helped but my right arm still gets "stuck" which I have attributed to lack of connection in the back swing. I am rather athletic and moderately muscular and I have always relied on this to get me through. But this is not even close to enough and probably gets me in trouble. I need better structure and fundamentals. Anyways, thanks for the vid and will definitely give these drills a try.
People do not value this content enough. My land o lakes of butter these Porzak bros made me quit taking Prozac for my swing. This video is saved in my vault. Gosh thank you. I hit 200 balls the other day and this has to be part of the pull hook. 170 out 200 were pulled.
I’m sure you’ve heard this before but I have the baseball swing. Played a lot of baseball as a kid and then coed softball as I aged. That swing is ingrained in my sub conscience. On top of that, I was a right handed dead pull power hitter. That leads to flipping the wrists and weight landing on my back foot. When I slow down, I can make myself get the weight in the front side but I tend to spray it all over the place. I’ll pull one, make and adjustment and then loose the next one right. I’m a train wreck lol
Upload to the wrong location with it on Porzak instead of Pitt? I like the right arm (give blood) hanging next to the grip and passively going back in sync with the left arm, torso. Ernie Els has mentioned liking to take the club away with the left arm/left shoulder. One thing that worries me with using the left arm for takeaway is the possibility of the arm abducting across the chest (making the arm swing deep and across the chest) if the chest doesn't turn properly.
@@PorzakGolf Worked on the takeaway move squeezing the lead pinky. Totally different feel than before. Now I'm focusing on kepping my lead arm connected by moving the club with my core turn and almost immediately squeezing the lead pinky which keeps the club head outside the hands. Once I got it down I hit much better wedges and farther with less effort. Thanks for feedback!
It is majority lead arm throughout the entire swing, however, just prior to impact the trail arm can really extend through the golf ball to add some power! This is why Ben Hogan said he wished he had three trail arms at impact!
Great video as always! When you talk about using the back of the left arm and shoulder to accelerate the club in the downswing, how does this not result in ‘pulling the handle’ and consequently steepening the shaft?
This is why we make sure our players are making a fully connected and complete backswing, the club is essentially coming right back, where it came from give or take a degree or two.
Do people say they feel like there isn't as much pressure shifting in each foot when keeping the bump? I don't mean like there's no shift.. It's like it just doesn't feel as much pressure as lateral shifting.

Personally , I believe that knowing the pressure points in the grip is the real secret to upper body rotation and a connected arm swing that will repeat : Last two fingers of the left hand , middle two of the right , smothering pressure of the right thumb pad on the left thumb and the big knuckle of the right forefinger against the side of the handle , the right thumb doing nothing !
Yurp, my hands definitely DO NOT stay in front of me. I am feverishly trying but my "EVERYTHING" in my motion is WRONG!!!"
