They might actually not be siblings since in a book by irl junichiro lovers have to hide their relationship by pretending to be siblings it’s in a book called “Naomi”
As a long time anime watcher, I will highly recommend this anime. It isn't as popular as most other mainstream anime but it's pretty underrated actually. From these clips, the show looks really funny and weird overall but these clips are mostly from the first season that's more of a set-up and intro for the characters, the show gets pretty dark and gory as the episodes progresses and it has really great elements of mystery and mind effing. Also season 4 of this anime is premiering from 4th Jan so rn might be a high time to get into this anime. It has some sick action scenes and the music is great too!
@@Vinncheng Well Naruto is arguably one of the most successful and or well known animes, so of course bsd wouldn’t be as popular as it. Not every anime can be super popular lol, but that doesn’t make it underrated.

As a manga reader, i can tell you that 4:37 didnt even existed. Bones ( a studio that draw bungou stray dogs) added the clip for no reasons, to sexualize Yosano. Also 3:45 dazai (brown coat) laughed in the manga. Just some funfacts or smth
@@victimuu HAHAHA REAL. HES SO GREASY. Also before I watched Bungou Stray Dogs I mixed up Season 3 Dazai and Fyodor in that cafe scene. They both looked so ugly I couldn’t tell who was who😭
So the fact is this was more like the fun side of this show as this show can get dark really fast and yes it gets really dark . Fun fact this show has a lot of refrences two name authors of books in real life and also their abilities name is also based on name of book and with the guy named Dazai who says he wants to commit suicide is basically legit an author in real life with name Dazai but here is a thing in the anime they made his character have this dark humor of committing suicide but in real life the author named Dazai infact tried to commit suicide not just once but like 3 times but he failed to die and lastly succeeded [ If I am not wrong he basically I think had depression and stuff ] In anime they make it look funny and all but in reality it is messed up . Another fun fact the creator of this anime gave this one guy the name Akutagawa which was in real life Dazai's idol [ the guy with full black clothes u called vampire ] . So in real life firstly his idol Akutagawa committed suicide and finding out this about his idol Dazai became depressed and tried to commit suicide himself . Now in the anime they made Akutagawa role the opposite as in anime Dazai is Akutagawa's idol . This show at surface is really calm but when u see more details it is really dark .
I just recently found out that they do the same role reversal with Rampo (Ranpo? I keep seeing it switch around) and Poe. The real life Rampo loved Poe and apparently his pen name that's used in the show is basically a way to pronounce Edgar Allen Poe: Edogawa Ranpo. Say it ten times fast!
And in this manga we can see the trio ango sakaguchi, Oda sakunosuke and dazai Osamu and this authors were really friends, we can see it as well in another anime call Bungo to alchemist which r reference true authors too.
Yea 😭 I did read somewhere though, that the the author Junichiro is based off of wrote a book about a couple pretending to be siblings, and I’m pr sure they’re a reference to that work

Yes you were kinda right about the detective part. The main guys that you see mostly including the guy named Dazai always trying to off himself, all of them are detectives and this show is about detectives and mafia with supernatural elements (atleast that's how it starts out) but from S2 it starts taking a lot darker turns with plot twists. And also all the characters of this show based off of irl deceased authors and has some literary references here and there. There's Japanese, American, Russian and French authors/poets.
While in the main series, it is mainly about deceased authors. In Another Story/Gaiden, the main characters are authors that are still alive. Yukito Ayatsuji, Mizuki Tsujimura, and Natsuhiko Kyōgoku.
11:45 as all important characters are names after famlus literature authors he is named after Lovecraft, he is some kind of weird sea creature(like Ktulhi and others from stories of Lovecraft)
i am now realizing the context doesn't actually make this much better, but this is a great anime! My fav by far. also one of the most comedic ones if you overlook the huge amounts of tragic backstories and deaths.
This show is great! And there's not just the show. There's the manga, wan, beast, bad apple. There's so many ways you can experience the characters and the story. I personally think it's great because it really engages you into the story. There's mystery, psychology, comedy relief so its not constantly serious which I personally love, and action. It can get really dark so that's why I'm glad there's comedy relief like this. Going back to the manga, wan, beast, etc. I think its great that there's so many different ways to look and engage into the story. For example if you're just looking for the comedy of the show and dont really like the seriousness or darkness of the main anime then there's the wan. If you like alternate universes there's beast. If your looking for a little bit more comedy in the main show id recommend the dub. The lines (in my opinion) can be a lot more silly in the dub then the sub.
They left out how Dazai asked that one waitress about committing a double suicide, and she asked him about his life insurance... Also, the woman complaining about the other person having too many arms is the stereotypical sadistic healer. She has the ability to heal any kind of injury, but only if the patient is at deaths door, which really is perfect for her...
OKAY ILL EXPLAIN SINCE WHY NOT Note that though there are some very entertaining and um… interesting parts, it’s an incredibly dark anime with dark plots and gory deaths, but the hot characters make up for it! The story revolves around ability users, or gifteds, which by the way, the characters and abilities are based on real authors and books. In Yokohama, we have the top two gifted? using organizations: the Port Mafia and the Armed Detective Agency. (We love the port mafia) Of course, there are some rather… unique abilities but! To sum the entire anime up including the OVA and movie… Best boy saves? bandage squandering machine and everything goes downhill? from there. Attacks from other organizations, selfish brat tries to kill our man, and such. It’s quite fun, though I did cry many times! I recommend trying this anime only if you’re ready to be changed mentally. ✌️ peace
it looks fun and weird at first and then we have dazai's backstory, chuuya and dazai 15 and then it all gets really fucked up the second Fyodor appears and we do not talk about seasons 4 onwards
The main characters are q detective agency composed mostly by people with powers. And the series goes along the cases they handle. Most of the characters are based on real life writers, novelists, and poets from around the world, and their powers are related to their masterpieces. Literally you can take the full name of any character here, google it and a writer will pop up.
Weird people, funny show, a dude always trying to suicide, a poor kid and a man with a notebook stuck in all of this, siblings with a questionable relationship, a vampire and his fangirl, a short short tempered boy with a hat (yep, the hat is an important part of his existence), a childish genius detective, etc etc etc. Until you know - - almost all characters are based on real life writers - they are an agency where almost every member has a past scar and are misfits to society (actually, even people outside of the ADA has a sad past - like members of Port Mafia, Sigma) - they are framed by antagonists and are basically almost all dying (even everyone who ever tried to help them) - the world is undergoing vampirisation (if that makes sense) - Fyodor (I'm not even gonna explain that point)
Bungo Stray Dogs (shortened to BSD) is a seinen. The vampires will come AFTER the anime, but Akutagawa the Boy is still a regular emo with tentacle powers. Lovecraft jumping into the water is that he can turn into fucking Cthulhu.

I really recommend watching the show, it’s very underrated unlike mha and Demon Slayer. The characters are beautifully written, kinda messed up but thats what most fans like abt the characters.
