Blizz ALWAYS overnerfs fire mages, they just don't know how to balance this spec. They nerfed living bomb so much they might as well rename it as dying bomb.
It's normal for Blizzard. The nail that sticks out gets the hammer. Sunfury was good about a month ago, so everything about sunfury and everything about fire got nerfed to hell. At this point it's very likely that Sunfury (and fire overall) sucks ass for s1. It'll get buffed by s2 again.
Yeah.. I unfortunately have to agree. I just wish they'd take nerfs in small stages, re-evaluate, then continue to nerf if required. As opposed to the absolute hammer strategy they use
I played fire mage during the last patch of DF, and I’ve seen fire mage from the beta and really thought I was going to come back to play fire, and I did, it is still a lot of fun because the playstyle is still good but the numbers omg. I don’t mind player SKB or around big combustion, I find both playstyle really interesting, but god damn I’m tired of optimizing my combustion timing and the spells I throw in just to get the worst numbers possible on single target and just very average on multi/cleave
I've always loved Kael'thas ever since I started playing in BC, and I've done everything in my power to make a Fire Mage or Destro Warlock as close as possible to him over the years. But now that they added his exact outfit for mages and even made an entire spec based on him, they go and make it almost completely useless... What on earth were they thinking with these nerfs? It's not like Fire mages were so strong that they needed a nerf (especially when you see how strong they made Pallys or DKs...) and even if they did, making us do less dmg than tanks is absolutely absurd. It feels more like someone at Blizz flat out hated fire mages for some reason and decided to screw us...
@@BiteSizeWoW Yeah man, sadly it's not gonna be enough. It's a 5% buff to Pyroblast, 10% to Flamestrike, and 30% to Living Bomb. I'm decently geared rn and my LB only does 7,003 dmg at max lvl... 30% of that will still be pathetic. They need to make it like 40-50k dmg to make it viable again imo, and they also need to reverse the nerf on our meteor. They took the all fun out of the class, we currently have no hard hitting abilities at all. Thanks for the reply btw!
@@ianluttrell6592 replying to people is one of the best things about UA-cam! I'm just gearing my fire mage so will hopefully upload some dungeon runs soon
The value from SKB is so good it will never not be the pick. Being able to regularly enter a mini combust is so strong and beneficial to the fire mage play style you can't not pick it. I dislike this but is what it is. Was very excited for LB and such to even out the toolkit so we aren't prior CD nukers and can actually enjoy m+ but here we are with Lb being basically pointless to take.
Bro I get your feeling and its fustrating me too, I really want fire to be good at all times but blizz keeps nerfing it and it pisses me off! Anyways keep going with the vids!
Dragonflight living bomb did negative damage with 2 talents, TWW living bomb does negative damage with 7 talents.....surely it cant be their design to have the whole right side of the tree be dead talents
Surprisingly I actually think frost is harder than arcane now. Arcane got a lot of streamlining for the new expansion, compared to dragonflight it's so much easier, frost still has so many buttons (it's bloated in my opinion) and so many procs which overlap, the requirement to shatter spells, etc
Frostfire is definitely better than Sunfury right now, and it's still great fun. I just really like Sunfury and the new unleashed inferno talent, the idea behind it making combustion an absolutely monstrous cooldown i think is awesome, but it's just not good enough currently Must say as well that Frost mage is looking far superior in general to both fire and now arcane after recent nerfs
So everyone's been salty about how frequently they were changing mage during the alpha and beta, but not realizing that it's because they can't seem to figure out how to design it. Frost is an awful spec now, worse than it was in DF s3 actually. DF s3 frost was, i think, the most coherent mage spec specifically in raiding. Its AOE still a nonsense. Every step they took with it was for the wrong parta of the design and in the wrong way. Arcane has more procs now but it's still a failed design. Fire was looking to be the better one for sure. Living bomb was doing crazy damage with frostfire, but just because frostfire could trigger it all the time and benefit from all the damage modifiers. Instead of addressing that part, they nerfed the spell itself making it do nothing at all with sunfury. Sunfury also doesn't really do anything that's noticeable as a player except the 3 extra pyroblasts you can shoot at the end of combustion (aiming to proc burden of power inside combust is another one actually, but it essentially just tells you whether you should press combust now, or delay it for a few globals). They also nerfed a lot of phoenix flames modifiers so now you dont have any spells that hit hard and feel good. Made sense because phoenix is a generator so it messed up your priorities. That's why, they should reeeally go in the direction of sub rogue and make another hot streak spender that has a cooldown and hits very hard, like secret technique. It can definitely just be phoenix flames
Brilliant comment ! Couldn't agree more with the living bomb changes. It was too OP for frostfire but they've nerfed it so hard with no regard for the fact that Sunfury relied on it for any damage out of combustion. Frost seems quite strong right now but I fully agree design/play style wise I'm really not a fan, it's like whack-a-mole of the 10 lighting up buttons. I think they may have bitten off more than they could chew with hero talents, I'd rather have seen concise and clear iteration of all talent specialisations rather than some reworks here and there and the new hero trees being thrown in and creating a bit of a balancing nightmare
@@BiteSizeWoW also didn't address certain things that people hate the most: * flamestrike being a reticle. Ele shaman gets a targeted version now and it feels so nice * pyroblast being a castable spell that you thurn into an instant one is some vanilla wow remnant. Because of that you now have to jump or move during combusts and almost every time you press phoenix flames to get hot streak in order to cancel the accidental hardcast. Why not make pyro only usable with the hot streak buff? (And sin kings fury buff) Idk who's working on the class, bless him for trying, but yeah not hitting the mark Last thing: fire blast does 5 things. Why? You press it with one purpose in mind - get hot streak, and you might time the press 1 second here or there in order to maintain feel the burn. But tacking on ignite, living bomb, meteorites, more living bombs... it feels sort of like it's technically easy to implement this way so they just said screw it why not
With the way Sunfury and the new SKB alternative talent (unleashed inferno) are designed, yes! Because you have pretty much nothing outside of your combustion, so to allow for such weak periods the damage spike during your one window of high DPS must be huge to make the tradeoff worthwhile Thanks for watching!

10/10 comment for 'dying bomb'

hoping the combustion playstyle can be similar as old school cata one, would be lovely
Living bomb has been shit for far too long. I'm sick of flame strike.

There are some buffs coming for fire this reset. I'm not sure they'll be enough, but it's a start 🤞

*Uncontrollable chicken noises*
I am maining fire.... not looking good.. omfg.... ffs
Still time 🤞 and if you enjoy the frostfire talents that's performing a bit better than Sunfury, though no where near frost mage as yet

@@BiteSizeWoW The UI Talent isn´t new in TWW. UI was already part of DF as a choice between SKB and UI. Why do you call it always a new talent?

good..!

No - fuck mages. Literally taken 50% of the dev time on classes for the last 10 years. They need to leave it in the dumpster for a decade.

If you're doing less than tank damage outside of Combustion then Combustion needs to be insane to make up for that.
Did you stroke out? I think you didn't understand these sentences the way they should be understood
