- I attempted a Pokemon Platinum Hardcore Nuzlocke where each of my Pokemon is only allowed to have ONE MOVE.

The Hardcore Nuzlocke rules for this challenge:
1. Only catch the first Pokemon on each route. (Duplicates Clause: If my first encounter is a duplicate, I can re-roll)
2. If a Pokemon faints, it must be released.
3. No over-leveling above the gym leader's highest level.
4. No items in battle.
5. Play on Set Mode.
6. Pokemon must always have only one move.

When I was young I used to play using only one move too!! But it wasnt a hardcore nuzlocke, was just me spamming the same one over and over hahaha
Me with my level 60 empoleon cause I got stuck in wayward cave and mira kept healing me so I couldn't even die.

The moment you named Turtwig "Crush" I immediately thought that the theme was Nemo. Apparently it's just Pixar characters in general which I didn't recognize except for Bruce, but Turtwig being named "Crush" was certainly a neuron activation moment.
Yeah I had a very similar experience, but not recognizing 75% of the names combined with me not knowing what movies are considered Pixar and which are considered Disney really had me guessing for far too long.

By the 6th, it's Pixar characters. Crush was a big giveaway. At first I was thinking it might be Finding Nemo (or Dory I guess) specific, but after a few more I realized it couldn't be that, but rather Pixar characters in general

At first I thought the thumbnail was telling me in competitive gen 4 Glaceon can only have one move lol. The video idea was much harder. Nice job!

This was such a neat idea for a Nuzlocke. It really made you diversify your team as you played, which was super cool. I also really appreciated how you constantly put additional information on screen that people might not know. Very slick editing.
I do really love the little reminders of what held items do/what natures do that you pop up in the top left corner!

Putting up descriptions of items abs abilities on the screen is a really helpful touch for clarity, for people like myself who enjoy watching these types of videos and breakdowns of the combats but who aren't as familiar with specific items and effects in the games. Great content, keep it up!
I agree that Golduck is underrated, I had a Golduck named Gobbo in my platinum hardcore nuzlocke and it came in clutch against Roark, Fantina, Barry in Hearthome Coty, and Candice, and was the only of the original six captures to make it to the Elite 4 and Champion

Though I would've made HM slaves to exempt from the one move only thing and not let em fight considering the amount of HMs in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum but that's just me but your solution was clever!

I knew it was Pixar characters immediately. I heard Crush and went “Oh, like from Nemo!” I assumed it would be Nemo characters but by Kevin I knew it was Pixar characters overall.

And to be fair, a few names I couldn't recognize so I doubted myself, but with Alberto and Remi I knew I was right.

I caught on after thinking about WHY the turtle was named Crush. After Crush form Finding Nemo! Kevin being the bird from Up, Bruce being the shark from Fidning Nemo, Alberto being from Luca. I definitely miss some of the reference, for example, I don't know what Hopper is named after, (probably A Bug's Life) and I'm guessing it's Onward for Manticore? Still, very good challenge!

Hey, great challenge! I was wondering how I could try this challenge for myself. Did you use pkhex to edit your team every time they learned a move? I was thinking I could edit the game to put a move deleter in every town but that's more complicated and I figured I'd see how you did it.
I didn't realize you could get heart scales through underground. I was mad when I found out luvdisc was post game and thought I could only get heart scales from the editor guy
This is a really cool challenge, would love to see it it's possible to do this in BDSP considering the much more difficult E4 + Cynthia considering fairy typing is added and the held items/EV trained Pokemon.

As soon as you said Kevin, I said Pixar characters. The comment about turtwig having a propeller hat was a huge clue because Kevin is the bird in Up and Russel has a propeller hat.
This so unique in Its own way looks really fun also.

Here's a thought. How about a playthrough of one evolution line per gym. So the starter for the first, say, Burmy, Wormadam, and Mothim for the second, etc.

i had the same idea but instead of "i can only use one move of my choice" its "if i use a move i can only use THAT move only" for your case you cant tell crush to use absorb he can only use tackle. if you catch a pokemon of the same species it can use a different you want. and you can level up your pokemon for better use you don't have to pick right away only when you use the move its locked in.

I figured it was Pixar after Crush and Kevin. Crush, the turtle (Turtwig) from Finding Nemo, and Kevin, that bird (Starly) from Up. That's what sold me to the idea.

You should try Dark Rising: Order Destroyed. It's a forced nuzlocke but you can't heal at the pokemon centre or catch pokemon. You'll also be severely underleveled for most of the fights.

For Lucian, why didn't you just give houndoom the choice specs considering you have only 1 move and choice specs gives a bigger boost than black glasses.
He couldn't give Houndoom Choice Specs because the Choice Specs were on Golduck, and he only had one.
