Agbaletu, Pa Oguntodu deserves more than one interview, he has a lot of epistle inside of him, to pass on to the upcoming lovers of music, that will benefit our generation. We all appreciate you AGBALETU!!!!!!
Agbaletu, please invite this legend back to your show. His intellectual creativity is a shining city on a hill. Highly impressive!!!!!
Brilliant memory at 81, he can still sing and hum to all the songs that are even 60 year old. Honest and suave explanation. He even mentioned about destiny and juju and that God is the one who lifts up
Barrister was a great musician... very hardworking, creative, focus, talented and above all, forever champion. May his gentle soul continue to rest in peace.
Agbaletu, please are you able to document all these musical history in a book. Would be sad to see all this baba go without having a encyclopaedia of history and events as detailed as this elders know. Our next generation would need this for our research and history.
This man doesn’t look like 81 years old person o.
He has no wrinkles, his voice is still clear, his skin is clean too , if this is what it looks like at 80, we thank God.
Baba you are blessed!!!
Meehn, at his age this man is blessed. He explained everything to details accurately 'even with date' God bless him.
Kudos to Agbaletu always
This man is your best guest, he spell out the real essence of your program
This man is a great treasure with a retentive memory
Wow! I respect this Baba so much but I sympathize with him because he truly have the talent to sing but it is not late. He can be helped to record and release a hit track that can make him a Super Star. Thank God for IK Dairo, KSA and Obey for their contribution to Juju music.
This is my best interview from you Mr Dele more wins you doing great job sir God bless you
Baba Eddyspot…continue prosper sir. We love you❤
This is great! His memory is unbelievable and he can siiiiiiiiing. Great voice
This Baba look so good for his age and his memory is sound., may Almighty God continue to be with him.
Infact, we need at least 4hrs with King Sunny Ade. He is a repository of knowledge and experience, we can benefit immensely from his archival repository of experience over these long years. Pls Agbaletu bring us the king.
AS one who grew up at Akure at the same time as this man I can identify all the people he mentioned .some I knew personally including Wale himself Wale married a cousin of mine . OLA Jombo was my little cousin ,his father was my uncle the juju musician at Akure before Wale was Bola lawal JONJO lived across from OYONYO . the man gets A IN HIS NARRATIVE but he may not have been born in 1943. ( he said he left primary school in 1958. ). I left primary school in 1956 but was born after 1943.Everything he said about what happened in the 70s I WOULD not know ( left Nigeria in 1968 for USA) Like I SAID I gave him A) FOR EFFORTS'. Less I FORGET DELE IS ONE OFTHE BEST INTERVIEWER anywhere.
I remember this man when I used to clean my uncle's changer and Grundic grammaphone in the sixty/seventy. This is your best interview since I have been watching your interviews. This man is treasure in music if not for his musical instruments stolen, he would have been a guru still reigning. All he said is the truth, especially guitarist 🎸 creativity, and copycats.
Wiow. This Man’s Memory Is Incredible. Thanks,Dele👏🎤👏
NA THIS GREAT MAN BE MUSEUM..HE IS SIGNIFICANTLY LOADED SIR
This UK guest is one your best if not the best
Great interview Agbaletu. Keep the historical contents up.
Dele Agbaletu. Dean of old skool and transparency!😎
I enjoy the presentation of this man is highly fantastic and cogent very precise with his informations.Thank you Agbaletu.
This man is full of talent both in memory and all but luck is not just on his way. However, only God knows best
U r very right! Luck!!!! Av played Keyboard along side while he played Lead guitar....he even had full instrument in d U.K...
His good luck stopped at the very time he went ahead to bury his dead band member in a strange burial ground in Atan, Lagos without an express permission of the deceased father. Unfortunately, the deceased band mate was a biological son of a renown witch doctor.
This talented man mistakenly stepped on powerful evil toes of those who were stronger than him.
That incident was what buried this man's glory.
May we not offend stubborn evil powers that will not forgive us.
Similar thing seemed to have happened to Fatai rolling dollars who was kept in the wilderness till the dusk of his life.
Aye le o!😢
Your guest is a great resource for the origin and the evolution of Juju Music. Hope you're keeping these records.
Even trumpet line he still humed it. So this is that Baba Ogundotu. Honourable Sir 🧢
Happy to see Mr. Oguntodu, young and energetic at 81, you showed all of us that old age could be eventful and joyful sir. You have a very sharp memory, and you are very articulate sir. I clearly remember Omoobokun growing up in Lagos, in my young adult years, my favorite lines of omoobokun was iya iyami so wipe, (my grandmother used to say). By the way, am a grandma boy, may God rest my dear grandma's soul and other departed souls in heaven. Thanks Agbaletu for this wonderful interview, I listened to your interview of Chief Adedara Arunralojaoba over and over as well. You are a blessing to your generation and all of us, Mr. Adeyanju.
Thou this man was not that popular and well known but am happy for him cos he looks younger than his age and those that were popular then were all deceased. Longevity with a sound health is a greater accomplishment. Kudos to Agbaletu
Exactly. God spared his life in good health! That’s success for him
Baba has a very good memory for events, names and dates! Such a blessing. Another good one from baale Agbaletu.
You owe him a big hug; he gives meaning and relevance to your entire mission
Great job for shining the limelight on the music living legends. We are patiently gearing up to watch King Sunny Ade right here on Agbaletu TV. Keep up the good job!
I second your suggestion, though Agbaletu had interviewed KSA before but not in a proper setting like this. Agbaletu over to you.
This wonderful man is full of talented...thanks so much agbaletu for let us knows about this lovely legend......
One of the best interview conducted by Agbaletu Pa Oguntodu is a very versatile musician Highly historical and factual His memory is so sharp and accurate.Sunday Ariyo used to play at Pax Hotel Osogbo in the early -60's Kudos to Agbaletu for this incisive and interesting interview You are indeed a master interviewer
Grace of God.
Baba took good care of himself. He looked & sounded very healthy. Very sharp. His relocating abroad impacted his life positively.
Agbaaletu.....you are also brilliant and knowledgeable.....you and your guest are just too wonderful....I still dey laugh ooooo...... with all his stories and history of our great muscians...
WE NEED YOU TO BRING KING SUNNY ADE HERE WE FANS DON'T MIND HOW MUCH IT WILL COST US FOR YOU TO INTERVIEW THE KING OF MUSIC
God bless you agbaletu...
Waoh, this is grace oo, @81 looking like in 50's... This man is very vast, very sharp memory at 81
God have mercy o, his voice and memory is very sound.
Shina Peters was a flash in the pan. Sunny Ade rescued, and sustained, juju music.
With due respect, Baba's claim that Wale Glorious was 2nd to IK Dairo in the whole of Nigeria in terms of popularity is not correct. My dad who was based in Akure during that time told me that Wale Glorious was more popular in the Akure/Ekiti area, but not as popular as Sunny Ade & Obey Commander who were based in Lagos
This man saying the truth, how many records has Sunny and Obey waxed b4 the death of Wale?
With due respect what record labels are Sunny Ade and Obey signs with ,NONE you can Google it
This man is full of memories.
Very brilliant man.
Great man; the best.
May God continue to keep him with good strength , energy and wisdom
I pray for this kind of wisdom and the grace of God to reach this age with sharp memory. Amen
The memory of this wonderful Man is heavenly ❤️🍷🕺🏿🎷
The best interview of Agbaletu kudos to Agbaletu with this highly respected talented man
GREAT MEMORIES FROM BABA...ANOTHER BANGER OF AN INTERVIEW...POINT OF CORRECTION HE SPENT 13YRS IN EMI 1974 TO 1987 NOT 17YRS.
Eddyspot, love you sir.
Baba Oguntodu is indeed a legend... His memory is still very intact. God bless him.
Dele Good Job as usual..please tell Baby Kollington never claimed to be the first to sing that song...he should aplologise for calling him a liar
I think this baba was trying to say that people said Kollignton sang the song first. Then he called those people liar. He wasn’t calling Kollington a liar directly.
He actually did. He mentioned Kollignton, not the people, which is totally unfair to Alhaji Kollignton Ayinla. I think there should be a follow-up interview where he should apologize to Kollignton. @3dd3cheetosdoritos11
Very resourceful a guest
Keep it up! Mind you, there are elements of history in the legends naratives! It will be a confirmation of stories of the legends
Comprehensive Report of Old Professional Stars . Thank you, Agbaletu
@81 very sound and extremely alert. What's his secret, if I may ask, please
Brilliant 🙏🏿
Loaded! More strength to baba and Agbaletu
This man is loaded
I love his sincerity, it was a good interview.
What a sound memory. God bless you sir
Wow😅. This man has a lot story. Lot of memory at 81. Ógà ó!
This baba is loaded, please Agbaletu bring him back. KSA is expected as well . God bless you bro.
Point of correction fuji music would have ran juju music out of not for afro juju by sir shina peters
Are you kidding right now? KSA sustained Juju music for roughly 60 years, SSP was coming and going. As at when Afrojuju was envogue, Juju music was still super hot, so whether there was SSP or not Juju was still Juju. The hottestt years of SSP was when he released Ace in 1989 till around 1999 when he lost his band in the U.S. During that time, KSA was still the no1 artist in Nigeria.
This is mission accomplished for you Dele. Definitely a great research resource
I love this man
What an icon ❤
Baba Oguntodu is very knowledgeable parson at his age his still remember every thing
The guest is a very versatile artiste full of forensic memory.
*One of the best interviews ever heard, but a lot of clarifications to be made, like how Obey left Fatayi Rolling Dollar*
How Suny Ade got to Lagos nd few others, bcuz it will be good to straightened the records*
Great one sir, kollington has never for once claimed to be the originator of of that track
I respect this man's memory and his youthful look, I pray God bless me with such too. However, Alhaji Kollignton Ayinla never said anywhere that he was the first to sing that song. I disagree with him on that.
He did not said that by him self it wss agbaletu who put de word to his mouth dat it was kolington dat was the first person to sing de song and Pa Oguntolu responded dat it wasn,t so.
Bro ur interview with the Baba is wonderful
I'm impressed with your work on old (ibile) musicians! Make a list of younger ibile musician artists for interactions with the legends!.
The baba has stories but never ends any one successfully. Thousand wire story never ends and many others
It’s dele’s fault. He ask them question and always impatient to listen to their answers before interrupting them. This is unlike Ngbati Tv style of interviewing. We have been saying it. Dele need to correct his attitude.
I like the fact that he still got his country accent despite many years in the UK?
I enjoy this episode. So interesting. This is fogbayanga!!!❤
Wao! I really gbadun this iforowero gan ni o
There is no where Kollington claimed he was the first to sing that song. This Baba need to corrected on that.
Even King Sunny Ade used guitars to run the lines ...a lot of Nigerian Musicians sing other people's songs without credit or permission.
Santa Mamola was a great guitarist. He was among the guitarists I met at the KSA band
May his soul continue to rest in peace.
KSA is the greatest of all time. He is a complete package, not just chorus singers like others. Talk of singing, diction, costume, stage control, synchronized movement, liveliness, agility, harmony, variety of unpredictable moves, never tiring, playing guitar like a wizard, you will open your mouth in awe from morning till evening but for others you will easily sleep off because all they do is sing choruses about stories. Only KSA packages everything in appropriate proportions.
I love his narration
Also he must be invited again for more clarification
Monday O John was the solo guitarist in Board member.
Dele well done
You are doing a good job
May he live long. Agba man. Well done.
This is the best so far
Great you are Dele, but) the man has a good memory
Good job Mr Dele.
Wale Glorious died of pneumonia Sir. I remember this man as one of those musicians around in Akure, in the 60s. His band was Eddy Spot Band.
It was a learning and discovery for you Dele
He is a moving library.
Lovely program
Baba has a lot of story to tell.
Wow this man has a good stature
Agbaletu seemed lost and disinterested. You can tell from his expressions. Great interview though
So unfortunate that this talented man fell into the pit of grand wizard who used his witchcraft to dull his star.
Thank God that his life wasn't lost in the battle. His glory was rubbished but his life was preserved by God.
It is well.
Now I know the genesis of this kegites song “ Gbe fun mama re to,kudos Agbaletu
Pls how old is this man
His Lordship, Olumuyiwa Jibowu was the 1st Nigerian judge. He was bypassed for Hon. Justice Adetokunbo Ademola to become the 1st Nigerian Chief Justice of Nigeria. His 2nd wife died recently in Ekiti. Wo kare o aba, wa pe ko a.
Is Hon. Oguntodu of Akure 1 House of Assembly your son or relative?
Baba tried alot. His memory is first class but he mixed things up with some hearsay.
Lady Deborah Jibowu of IkogosiErijiyan Ekiti axis.Justice Jibowu aws later appointed 1st indigenous Chief Justice of Western Region of Nigeria. He was bypassed because FG thought he was too close to Awolowo
Dele, please whenever you are presenting a musician, sandwich the presentation with their music like you did for Sina Bakare.
Unfortunately, I do not have the right to publish any part of their works sir.
How can this man call Monday John copycat ?
At the time you came to Lagos in 1971 Obey was at the peak of his popularity and fame in juju music..
This man’s interview was to condemning past music superstars in various genres..
He looks so young
are u sure this man is 81? his memory is very sharp
This was wrong about Killington
But God loves him in terms of age and health, see him at 81
Eku ohun.
This man has the brightest memory I have ever seen!
very correct
