Chirag 2077 this suggestion immediately makes me think of the Witcher 3. Don’t get me wrong the main story is great but that game also has some of the best side quests I’ve ever played
In the Dark Souls series, the fact that enemies and bosses keep acting aggro and attacking after you die killed immersion for me because I start to picture ones and zeroes and video game code "telling" the enemies to relentlessly attack the player.
I despise auto-save. I want to decide when to save and when to quit a game, I loathe "immersion". I use quote marks because immersion doesn't mean what gamers think. Also, if you tend to forget you are playing a game, you need find help urgently. It can be a seizure or a psycosis.
@Vagabundork Chaos Magick-User One of the reasons that being able to save yourself is so great is that it can used it as a reward system if they don’t let you save any damn time you want. I’m talking about games like Dead Space, for example. Every time you reached a new save box, you had such a great feeling of relief and accomplishment.
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 I include Save points in saving when you want to. You decide if you save or not, not the game. Save points are not at all similar to auto-save.
#3 tripped me up a few times in the Mass Effect games, too. I recall one situation where I selected "I'm Commander Sheperd," expecting my brave space captain to simply introduce himself- instead he delivered an aggressive "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?" rant.
Jules' creative juices are flowing all over this list, and I'm here with a straw. Keep up the great work! My suggestion : 10 times a game clearly gave a nod or mention to another game.
Jedi Fallen Order. Yes, I know half the fun of the game is the traversals in exploration but damnit, fast travel between mediation points would have been a massive quality-of-life improvement.
Jules, I have said it time and time again, you need to start a motivational channel dude. The way you try to motivate the masses at the end of your videos is amazing brother! Talking about number 7: I remember Sly Cooper (or Sly Raccoon) frequently telling me what buttons to press, but it never occurred to me how much it broke immersions.
I totally agree with bad lock-ons, it just grinds my gears, i had a list idea, greatest video games you almost never heard of because they got totally overshadowed by another great game upon release

Here's a suggestion: worst times a franchise has switched game play genre (from platform to racer for example). Could be complemented with Best Times, or your thoughts on franchises which probably SHOULD change genre.
Jules is by far the best presenter on WCGaming (then it goes Ash and then everyone else) that cringe worthy rap was just hilariously brilliant. I have no suggestion for a Tues you own adventure just keep up the good work you legend 👍🤘
Hey, is there a top ten list for best moments you were a part of real history (in some way) and didn't realize? Like fighting the Colossus of Rhodes without realizing the statues importance in God of War. Or climbing the lighthouse of Alexandria and not knowing it was one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World in Assassin's Creed Origins. I'm sure there's more but I'd love a list for the best historically (either directly or indirectly) accurate video games.
Biggest video game immersion breaker: Playing a game with my mother in the house and have her calling me every minute asking how to do things on the computer. This is why games need pauseable cutscenes and the ability to pause online games. Lost track of how many times I came back to the computer and found my character dead in Minecraft because you can't pause!
Idea for next week (considering all the controversy around TLOU2): Top 10 Games Loved By Critics But Hated By Fans. Maybe a follow-up video can be made sometime for the flipside where you talk about Top 10 Games Loved by Fans But Hated By Critics. I really love your videos Jules bro, keep dropping those nuggets of wisdom at the end of every episode. Top 10 videogames innovations that helped creating other games. Concrete examples: Soul Reaver: loading between levels while playing led to modern GTA; Zelda OoT's lock on led to basically every 3rd person shooter...
Absolutely yes, Parasite Eve, especially as one of the first games with built in New Game+, and that Chrysler Tower 77 levels of hell, with junk being collected to create super weapons. *Chef's Kiss*. But, a lesser known, but really fun Arcade game (designed for those, not entirely sober): N2O - Nitrous Oxide. A Centipede/Galaga style clone, or trippy delving through a 3D tunnel to shoot bugs, collect mushrooms, with the Crystal Method's "Vegas" album as the soundtrack, and the screen melting pause screen - this title was pure late night bliss.
I like his lil messages at the end. Reminds me of rehab. Shits cheesy but saved my life. I'm 8 years clean and still active in recovery. If anyone is suffering with addiction, get help. It's hard but worth it. Like anything worth having. If you need help or advice, or just someone to listen comment and we can link up and chat. I got you.
It always gets me when watching a cutscene and you get button prompts, not necessarily quick time events just "hey now you press this, to do something minor." Before continuing on with the cutscene

Subnautica has a great way of doing invisible walls where your play area is a plateau in the vast dead ocean and if you leave the border you get giant sea monsters chasing you till you die.
