This reminds me of Rick Dillingham's "Black Bowl, AIDS Series" of blackware pottery. He also had AIDS and knew he was dying when he made them. I like art but I'm not a "serious art person" and that exhibit in the New Mexico Museum of Art was one of the most moving things I've ever seen. Truly beautiful.
I remember seeing this painting a few years ago alongside Keith's letter that was for Basquiat's funeral... haunting stuff but I'm so glad I got to see it with my own eyes :')
Now I kinda wanna see someone setting up an art installation where it's called "Unnecessary", and it's an AI image generator generating every minute a new picture of the Unfinished painting by Keith Haring but "finished" by said AI, as a mean to protest the lack of any artistic talent these so-called "AI Art" are.
