I used to skate these wheels in the mid to late 90's. They were 39mm and I loved them! I've had a hard time finding small ones too. But the ones back in the day were a little wider and they were tight. We used to skate them until they wore down to bearing covers😄
I skated 28millimeter wheels in the early 90's. Think they were spitfire. They fit though, no need for spacers. Idk why these guys are struggling. They aren't bombing a highway. They are on smooth cement. With the 28's you had to pop over every crack, but popping was easier, ollie's we're higher, and technical tricks were easier too. Because your force transfered to the ground faster. But ,on some ledge tricks....yes, you can slide those small nuts right onto the top of what you trying to slide ,or off the edge of what you grind. We called these street wheels and 58mm's were vert wheels. Which, looking back, is insane because bigger wheels move you faster. Which was the point for vert. Faster drops mean higher pops. If I weren't disabled with a bad back, I'd still skate daily.
@@BeastOuncelifeian Exactly!! All the 52+ mm today were all big vert wheels back then. Lol crazy to think about now😄 Yea I was super technical and popped huge Ollie's with those small wheels😁
Not like _this_ small though... More like 48-52mm. And the people who really wore down their wheels into the 38-39mm range were really kind of nuts (or too broke to buy new ones). In reality, anything smaller than 50mm is horrible for streetskating and the benefit for flip tricks is virtually non-existent compared to the total lack in comfort. In skateparks especially with anything related to coping, small wheels are completely pointless. I'd bet the only people skating the 38mm stuff back then, were people doing nothing but flatground flip stuff.
@@PHeMoX Exactly.. that's when street skating was really progressing. The lower to the ground the easier to flip the board. Wheels kept getting smaller and no more riser pads.
@@PHeMoX Maybe, but I am sure this was a thing. I knew people that would get new wheels and sand them down. It was just a trend. They then wondered why a grain of sand would lead them to slamming on the floor. Back then as skateparks were not a thing, and here in the UK, concrete wasn't a thing used for any kind of paving, it just made it a beeping nightmare.
try inline skate grind wheels next. they come in the low 40mm range too but they are made of 100a+ urethan and fit a skateboard just fine width-wise ...
Love to see the bigger gal at 9:55 wearing the pads and helmet. I'm a bigger guy who likes to skate and is just learnin, don't feel embarrassed wearing that stuff! One love!
I usually go to a skatepark about 30 mins away from my home but today I went to my local skate park and (I only started skating like 3 months ago) yeah I think I did pretty well. Thanks for inspiring me braille
so many moments that made me crack up: 2:59 "aquaman - out of everyone? he met jason mamoa, that's why." 6:23 wheels weren't even tightened. 10:10 "welcome to bakersfield." 16:53 "i think that counts" "what?!" 18:20 "you know what's making it harder?" "the small wheels??" lmao
For authenticity’s sake, you should skate on an 8.5” deck with a similar shape ridden from 1993. The wheels are half the story! Bonking on rollaways are especially essential haha
those would be terrible air hockey pucks. There's a big hole in the middle of each of them. What's the smallest that takes the standard 22mm 608? Was that too much for Amazon to figure out?
or, y'all got a 22mm hole saw? I just got one off Amazon. You can put bearings in anything. You could try DIYing some wheels from slices of tree branches.
I love it they remind me of my T Bones back in the day they were so far gone but I was broke as it got my local skate shop hook me up with some new wheels after seeing them
I remember a friend in the mid 2000s having work down weals that where smaller then that but they defo weren't purchased as small wheels, must have been like 5mm thicker then the bearings
Watching Mo hit that wall and fall so much, made me scared for his ankles !!! Well, he is a Send-ninja I just love Team Braille and don't wanna see you get hurt THINK SAFETY
That one comment about flat spotting the wheel gave me an idea. Get a couple sets of the softest wheels you can find, and have a power slide competition to see who can ruin their set the most.
I’m pretty sure it wasn’t on the small wheel board, but can we talk about 10:53 McNuggs kickflip body varial… he never ceases to amaze me with his creativity on the board
I used to skate 45mm back in my younger years. I was mainly a flatground/ledge/rail guy. Then I tried 53mm and after a week of getting used to it I never went back
Not really true, actually. Vert skating was super popular. And you can't vert skate with wheels smaller than say 51mm. Most people would easily prefer 54mm or larger for vert. And this was true in the 90s. Anyone skating street wouldn't ride 38-48mm wheels either, but go bigger for sure. It's a bit of a myth to suggest everyone rode tiny wheels. And I don't think everyone is skating really big wheels now either. I think 52mm is still a favorite amongst most.
@@PHeMoX it may not have been true where ever you were in the world but it was most definitely true where I live. I personally saw loads of people riding tiny wheels and they were all on street as there wasn't a single skate park or ramp in my home town.
I remember in the early 90s this was The fad to see how small you could wear down your skateboard wheels I probably still have a set in a box that are probably about 2 to 3 mm thick literally hit a crack in the road n fly off
I used to skate on smaller wheels than these like 15 years ago, no cap, they are honestly not bad, maybe the newer ones today are but the old ones weren’t horrible and unusable

Yup. Tiny wheels and no more Risers.
I had 42mms in the early-mid 2000s. I absolutely loved them.

I was about to say the same thing. It seemed like it was a big deal where I was too to have the smallest and hardest wheels possible.
It was a trend to ride your wheels until you couldn't.
In the next one you should try 2 bearing spacers per corner so the wheels don't move around
Or just two bearing not the spacers?
The space between the bearings (in this video) are narrower than most skate wheels…highly doubt they were this narrow in the 90s.
Good idea
So many changes with Braille throughout the years, but the content keeps on rolling and entertaining! I love you guys:)
When mo said "they took my catalytic converter" I felt that haha

I've seen some super worn down wheels before. Not quite like this but they started out tiny to begin with and then got soooo small
That's a really down-to-earth wheel.
That was wheely funny
You had me ROLLING laughing

in the 90's me and my friends wore our wheels down to the smallest size possible on a lathe and called them "Bearing Condoms" 🤷♂️🤷♂️

The most epic flat spots ever. Brings a new meaning to "Flat-ground" lol.
I once had a really worn down pair of wheels, only replaced them due to powerslides causing insane levels of flat spots... actually loved those wheels
It the sound of the wheels for me 😂😂😂 when Mo was trying the wall ride the sound with the multiple attempts had me cracking up😂
The GLO FATHER is great as a cameraman 💪🏽😎
Heck yea!!! Vid before my mornin sesh! Lets goooo!!

5:15 best grip tape graphic ive ever seen

Paint your Catalytic Converter High Temp Blaze Orange and Stamp or Etch your VIN number on it, btw.
Try searching for rollerblade anti rocker wheels, you can even get plastic ones (worlds longest powerslide take 2?) same bearings!
Chris with the anchorman reference 🤘
Nothing is impossible for Braille 💯
So funny! Mo did a powerslide and then got a flat spot! 🤣
please put a link to buy the wheels. im interested in trying them
I had Bucky Lsek momo's back in the early 90's. They were 38mm. You could try wheels from heely's.
The captions constantly say "applause" when they're rolling lol
At the 17:20 mark if Rick were to do the Lion King scene this video would of been even more epic than it is now LMAO!!!!!!!
I wanna get some inspiration how to take this fresh start, cuz i took a 2 year skateboarding brake and now ill' start skateboarding again

Those things are so thin! Y'all got a 3d printer? Make some spacers or something?
Love that he's skated on bearings before. Just... no wheels. Can you skate bearings wrapped in Gorilla Tape or something? Self-Vulcanizing tape?
“Should I go light on that wheel?” Killed me
what park is this?
i used to skate autobahn wheels down to the clear core, i loved it that way
Would love to see them visit this again with mogly ideas having the two wheels would be a lot cooler
