Great advice. Loved the video. I have. The IHG Premier card is great but also I travel a lot with the US Army and they love IHG so I get extra points on all of my stays with the status.
I'm glad to hear you are maximizing your gains with IHG. They have some nice properties that I hope you get to check out on your work trips or with your points saved up for leisure travel.
People act like just because sometimes isn't across an ocean that it isn't special 😄 I enjoyed Vancouver when I visited last year. Nice mixture of nature and city.
Great overview!! I appreciate the video as not everyone is booking lay flat business class flights to the Maldives😂. I travel with my family of 4 so booking international flights on points is crazy. Our last two domestic trips were to Palm Springs / Palm Desert and Scottsdale, both of the Hyatt Regency properties in Palm Desert and Scottsdale were great (they are both in the process of converting to Grand Hyatt) and we leveraged those central locations (as a home base) to see Joshua Tree outside of Palm Desert, and Indian Canyon, Sedona and the Grand Canyon outside of Scottsdale. Edit: Both locations were booked entirely on Chase points transferred to Hyatt. Standard hotels (not all inclusive hotels) charge the same rate whether there is one person in the room or four, flights on points for four people are out of reach and I can stay in a hotel for a week for the same points it would take to book a flight for a few hours considering I need to get four flights.
Yeah, I'm not a Maldives guy, lol. I'm like you where, although I know that the flights give me more listed costs, I value hotels more. You can share the room without upping the prices, and it is less points which means more time there!
Domestic travel: The SWA personal + Biz card trick to get a companion pass is tough to beat. My wife and I both got CPs. We traveled a lot as a family of 5 and are still sitting on over a quarter mill SWA points. Detroit to LA - LA to Hawaii and back. I've been to Disneyland a few times. Had NOLA booked on SWA points. Best news is when you run out of SUB points, you just transfer over some Chase points. When I do international - I may end up using SWA points as repositioning flights to go in for the international high value kills.
Companion pass has the potential to be the most valuable benefit in the points and miles game. I don't normally fly southwest, but I see how powerful it can be for couples and families traveling together.
Traveling with a family adds up quick! I agree with you that the Venture X is valuable for families. Me, my spouse, and three kids all have our own Venture X’s. Easily able to justify keeping year over year. I like your recommendations. 👍🏼
The US Bank Altitude Reserve is about as close to a one card setup for domestic travel as it gets. I think if you combine the USBAR with a hotel cobranded card, you will get pretty far in domestic travel if you're not someone who likes to go through hoops to make award redemptions.
I’m at the beginning of the video so you might cover this but BILT has a 1.5x transfer bonus with Avianca on the first day of the month, and if I’m not mistaken Avianca can transfer to United as well!
There was a transfer bonus from Bilt to Avianca, but it was only for one day. Avianca can't book flights directly on United, but they can see many awards seats when United shares them with partners.
The World of Hyatt has some of the best mid-tier travel protections as well. They’re arguably better than Bilt’s and almost as good as those of the Sapphire Preferred.
Domestic travel doesn’t get as many likes on social media but just hitting all the national parks shows just how beautiful our country really is!
Our country really is beautiful. There is so much to see here, but you're right, the international trips get most of the attention
💯💯💯
Just found and been really enjoying your stuff lately man! Keep it going!
@@robertlopez3457 Thank you, Robert! I appreciate the compliment.
I’ll be doing domestic traveling for work
Get them points 🤑
Domestic travel is where it is at sometime. Good group of cards here. Especially on the hotel side 👌🏿
Exactly! People sometimes overlook domestic travel, but there are so many beautiful places to explore here in America 🇺🇸

Domestic travel is super underrated IMO. We've been doing that more lately with the occasional trip to Canada. Thanks for the info + video!

Great topic. Everybody focuses on international exotic locations but the states have a ton to offer.
So true! There is a ton to see in the States 🇺🇲
US has the most and pound for pound best landscapes in world. Arctic, deserts, salt scapes, Caribbean and everything in between.
Whats the place in Dallas?? 🤔🤔😋
I got the best platter of BBQ food in my life at Pecan Lodge. That place is unbelievable, good!! 😋

Only way I would fly southwest is if I had kids. Yikes.

The Venture X is the easiest to justify luxury card. There is so much value to have for very little, to no cost.

The USBAR is such a solid card for those who want simplicity.

Nice! Chase cards as a whole have pretty good travel protection
Do you have any restaurant recommendations in the Dallas area? I’m traveling there in November.
Check out Pecan Lodge! Best Brisket of my life 😋
I tihnk world of hyatt personal credit card is a NO BRAINER if you book hyatt at any capacity.
