MORE INFO: Hollywood's premier tourist attraction and site of over 40 major red carpet movie premieres yearly, the TCL Chinese Theater, located on Hollywood Blvd. , will be kicking off a tourist-packed summer by hosting a handprint-footprint ceremony for Asian superstar and international film icon Jackie Chan (www.jackiechan.com), star of "Rush Hour" and "Little Big Soldier," among other popular worldwide films. Jackie Chan, first-ever Chinese actor to be so honored, will be at the TCL Chinese Theater on Thursday, June 6, at 11 A.M. in the famous forecourt on Hollywood Boulevard .
Chan, who's fluent in multiple languages including Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese, joins the ranks of Bette Davis, Paul Newman and Humphrey Bogart, among many other film legends.
The famed actor-director was born in Hong Kong and is one of the most well known stars working in films today. He began his international movie career in the early 1970s and worked as a stunt co-ordinator for the legendary Bruce Lee prior to becoming a worldwide star and appearing in over 100 films.
The multi talented actor and martial arts expert has also directed some 20 films, starting in 1980, and recently starred in a new feature film, "Chinese Zodiac." Along with acting, performing stunts and directing, Chan is also a prolific producer of films and documentaries. His upcoming production, Skiptrace, co-stars Asian actress Fan Bing Bing opposite Jackie in this English-language film, which is based on an original idea by Chan about a Hong Kong detective and an American gambler.
Chan, who is also a popular singing star in Asia , is an active philanthropist and film buff and reveres comedians Charlie Chaplin and Harold Lloyd.
He was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and is also the recipient of the top French Chevalier des Arts Award and an MBE (Member of the British Empire ) from the Queen of England.
