Baba Nam Kevalam is a Sanskrit mantra that literally means "What is dearest and nearest to us is all there is".
When sung with sincere intention and focused ideation, it becomes a reminder of the profound connection to our spiritual Home, the divine source of all the subtle energy that composes the colourful dance we may call the Universe, that we may call life, existence.
When one's heart finally taps into that nucleus of unbroken flow of light, the mind inexplicably experiences it as pure bliss and love, tears of ecstasy streaming down like a river.
Therefore Baba Nam Kevalam as "Love is all there is".
You may not feel this so-called "love" yet, but you need not worry, for unconditional love is the goal, not the journey, for unconditional love is not a mere emotion but a sense of connection to the deep self within and without.
"Wanting to" love yourself means you already love yourself. That is enough.
Because you have the innate power to create your own inner and outer reality, love only requires your acknowledgement of its existence in the form of seed in each and every created being, and the constant remembrance of this truth. When remembering you are love and that you are forever loved becomes a natural practice, love will finally consent to be experienced.
Kiirtan is a powerful practice that begins with the imagination of a simple idea, that continues with the remembrance of such idea, and culminates in its full manifestation in every cell of one's body.
You are love, you and everyone else, and the Divine being is loving you so much that is trying in every way possible to remind you of that, constantly. Just allow yourself to imagine it and remember it.
