Always tough to put down animals.
On several other notes. Some thoughts I have been saving. These are just pooh thrown against the wall to see what sticks. Maybe one can be adopted without too much expense.
Regarding your water issues around the barns. Have you considered slightly grading a mild trench to drain the water away from the pasture/barn area?
Here in the Phoenix area people with pools are not allowed to drain water from filter cleaning into the storm sewers. A solution I came up with is to dig a 6 foot long by 4 foot wide by 6-foot-deep hole. Fill it with pea gravel to keep the walls from collapsing and top with decorative lawn gravel. The outlet of the drain is about an inch above the gravel. The water goes into the hole and no one ever sees it. If a large enough hole was dug and filled with gravel. Downspouts would direct runoff from the roofs. Most of the water would be captured and eventually seep into the ground water. You would have to use some Architectural skills to determine how much runoff you have and how big the hole would have to be.
I have seen you wear a South Dakota T shirt. What is your connection if any. I am from North Dakota. Go Bison!
Would you consider doing videos on both You Tube and Rumble? Rumble does not have the size of Library You Tube does. You any content added to their library would be helpful. It does not seem like it would be too much trouble simulcasting. But I am by no means an expert.
I recently subscribed. I enjoy your videos having come from a small town with many relatives that lived on farms.
    Jim

What makes your videos so amazing to watch is how apparent it is that you and your family truly care for the animals that you are ultimately growing to slaughter. The animals aren't simple a financial investment that are only of value once butchered but have inherent value in your (and your viewers') life. Thank you for inspiring others to do the same! I hope Marvel made it through the night. I'm not a cow expert but when sheep go down like this they often need a cud transfer from a healthy sheep to get their rumens going again. Another trick is to give them good, dark beer (I'm serious about this!). Lots of calories and the nutrients help the rumen also. Fingers crossed!

Praying for Marvel. Always a tougher loss when they are younger. It reminded me of a cow named Valerie that was 2 parts big milk producer 2 parts family pet. After calving she had milk fever bad. A whole case of calcium IV was given and she was down for a whole week. Then , when all hope was kind of gone we went to the pen, my brother had rifle in hand and when we got there she was standing up. None of us could believe it and we were overjoyed. No doubt many other farmers can relate to similar stories. I pray the same happens to your family and Marvel. Maybe the word on the street that day was hope.

Best wishes for your little guy. Steroids are an amazing drug they can go a long way in getting a body human, cow or what ever animal. It sure seems you’ve done what you can do. We will be rooting for him. You tell us stories about what effects your family on your farm. I am not a writer like you and I come to your channel because your stories translate into other aspects of our and my life. I hope you will indulge me telling a story about my life that you are helping me get through. You have no idea your helping me.
Growing up my mom and dad had 4 boys. Son number 2 is just like our dad. My brother fought stomach cancer 3 years ago. After the ugly battle my brother had he won and number 2 lost his bladder and they created him a new one. Last year December 1st my brother doc said that’s the end of 3 year since your cancer treatments, Your doing wonderful. The family was very happy. December 10th our dad had some problems looking like a stroke. Turns out it is cancer throughout is abdomen and up and down his legs. We moved forward in what cancer what can be done but by December 21 hospice was at my moms house helping our family deal with our dads death. It was a beautiful death family around him everyone taking care of him and we lost him at the age of 89 on December 23rd. We lost our dad but we had our brother. 6 months later say July 1st my brother experienced some pain when he pees. Sees the doctor and the news comes down we will be facing my brothers death this December. Now it has been that first year since we lost our dad and we figure my brother won’t see Christmas this year.
I am not writing this to have anyone write and tell me how rough or how sad. I am writing this to let you know how your farm stories tend to put life into perspective. We have done all we could do for my dad and my brother. I look forward to your videos every week you are the neighbor that lives next door that I talk with over the fence. In these COVID times you are the neighbor over the fence. I wanted to let you know what your videos mean to me. I have my wife and adult children that are all helping dealing with everything. Just thought I would let you know how your videos help me through some sad times. When I thank you for your videos I really mean thank you, I really mean your videos are important. One time my sister grabbed a white foil pouch of tetracycline powder by mistake and mixed up a bottle. Boy did that calf ever perk up! Hello Pete, the machines are in excellent condition, ready for winter, great jokes as always, but I'm very sorry for the calf, I hope it's okay, it's really very hard, but with the care you take, I think it will rise to its feet ... good luck

Hey pete, since we just started dexters, this also happened to our cow also, you just need to feed them yourself... it will take a lot of effort but it is definitely worth it. I hope it she gets better soon
