I had thought that, in Chinese speaking regions, Japanese names are pronounced in Chinese way based on the mutual agreement between Japan and Chinese speaking regions (Chinese names are pronounced in Japanese way in Japan). But, here, she is introduced as Miss Kawai Naoko. I guess Hong Kong had a different custom then. I am glad to know that the entertainment world of Hong Kong had such respect for her.
The host did speak of her name in Cantonese based on the Kanji (Chinese) characters of her Japanese name (prior to the brief introduction of her name in English, "Miss Kawai Naoko"). Indeed, people in Hong Kong naturally pronounce Japanese names using the native Cantonese pronunciation of the Kanji characters that comprise the Japanese names.
By the way, in case you are not aware of, Naoko-san introduced herself using Cantonese (starting at 8:22)! She pronounced her own name using Cantonese at 8:28! She said, "Hello everyone. I am Kawai Naoko. Thank you all very much for inviting me to Hong Kong. Okay?!" That's the cutest and most precious moment in this video!
I love Ms Naoko!
Thank-you

この番組は日本でいうとレコード大賞のようなものなんですか?奈保子さんが香港で審査員?のようなものをしてらっしゃるですかね。驚きです。
レコード大賞は皆プロの歌手です。このコンペはスター誕生!のようなものです。
