I'd like to see a swivel bech seat that stowes away this would great for being able to seat whilst declothing in bad weather or extending out to make a bed at the front or having a seating for food/games basicall extending the inside for multi passenger sleep and comfort arrangements, I'mm still yet to find a solution, the carbunk hammocks are great while the kids are small but having that extra option would increase a vans life span and make a larger family more comfortable especially in dangerous camp over conditions and would mean no more tents or sacrificing solar for roof tents
Where’s the gofundme for mark? I wanna support that guy!
Can you tell me what the 0CCC is?
i would like to know how and where to get that front seat mattress?
Sorry for the delay. Here is a link to the inflatable mattress at Upfit by Grit:

Where is the drain for the shower pan? Can’t see it in the video.
Thank you.
Hey Tom,
Drain is on the hinge side... it drains while in use, and the last little bit of water pours out when you lift the shower pan to close.
@@GritOverland Thank you.
Nice concept. What do u mean AC undermount? Whtat clearance u have? Never thing that... What if u go thru a spring or a flood for us Hurricane and Snow Chasers?
I would need a shower pan a couple of square inches of real estate bigger, just a couple and a shower telescopic holding bar somehow, getting old at 35 already.
@@rightright6582 Thanks for taking the time to comment.
The under mounted air conditioner doesn't infringe upon the clearance, it is nicely tucked up between the rails. Also the undermount, only has exterior parts outside, the rest of the unit is safely inside. If you're interested in learning more about shower pan size &/or holding bar, you can definitely reach out to our office & talk to someone about options.
Cheers!
@@GritOverland u guys are onto something here, u need a landing page pronto, get a 12 year kid or Fiverr for 5 bucks to do, just make sure it is registered under your email, not butts here. Still baffled about that undermount AC, we Outliers like to go flooded areas.
I heard the ecoboost doesn’t like to idle. Is it ok at high idle?
The ecoboost has had no problem idling at the standard 600 rpm and does great when in high-idle for recharge at 1800 rpm...even in hot weather.
Wooow!!! Wooow!!! Wooow! Absolutely stunning. I've watched soo many van built but THIS ONE IS THE BEST OF THEM ALL👍👌 Wish I can afford to buy this one... But rand is too weak in South Africa 😥😥
Thanks for your kind words @Fazlin Dale
Thorough, thought out, intelligent build. Well done!
Man I would’ve totally bought this vs my launch. Beautiful van. Well done.
Thanks! 👍
I’m going to buy one of your vans
Stowaway bench is good, however, by folding it up still used up your space. I like the one made by Limitless Van by just turning it side way. You still have a bench to sit and clear up your hallway.
Thanks for your comment. We think both are good for different reasons.
The swivel seat allows for a 2 person lounging area when swiveled, which is nice.
The stowaway bench seat takes up the least amount of space when folded up which is great. For those times when you don't have extra people traveling with you, it takes up the least amount of space... but when you do have extra people traveling with you... it also takes up the least amount of space.
I find, my van is more than just a camper van. It's my pickup truck when I need to haul stuff.
Also, we haven't found an FMVSS or ODOT safety approved swivel for the bench seats.
With a van not moving, wouldnt that overheat the alternator?
Hey @Tom_Lastname
Your concern is warranted, there are plenty of secondary alternator setups (on the market) that have the overheating problems.
Our system is designed & tested for the way we use it... short term high idling for our rapid recharge. Also, the Transit vans with the ecoBoost engine are really stellar.
Do you guys sell the cab mattress separately for the Mercedes’ sprinter?
Hey Matt. Yes we sell the cab mattress separately. It fits Ford, Mercedes Benz & Ram Promaster front seats. It's designed as a universal mattress with cut-out for the center console/cup holders.
The new ecommerce website will be up on the next couple months. However, you can reach out to info@gritoverland.com to purchase direct.
Is it possible to replace the chest fridge with a regular compressor fridge?
Great build for a non-extended, and professional demeanor in your posts here.
Much appreciated!
Where’s the toilet!
The toilet is under the kitchen sink next to the slider directly under the folding table.
Will you be doing a Ford Trail build, and when?
Yes, we have a transit trail build.
However, it's important to note that our GOAT, already includes most of the major features that Ford introduced within the Transit Trail Package. Namely: 2+" lift, alloy wheels, oversized AT tires, rear tire carrier for full size spare with matched tire/alloy wheel (we use a 17" alloy wheel). The GOAT also includes a fast adjust Falcon reservoir shock in the rear.
I have 19 Transit Trails on order & still have some available to reserve, if you're interested reach out on our website: www.GritOverland.com
I’m trying to decide between Gritt and van do it, it’s gonna be a hard choice!!!
I need subtitles thank you!
Seeing more ppl using those showers these days.
Very nice. Toilet options? Assuming a free standing cassette/porta potty. Is there a dedicated space for one?
There is a dedicated storage space for a cassette toilet. In the cabinet by the sliding door. That way when it’s time to empty, you don’t have to drag the cassette across the van.
@@GritOverland Thank you.
Does the bench seat recline? Also can you get overhead storage on the driver side?
Yes, we have multiple options for overhead storage on the drivers side. The seat does not recline.
Are those fold down bags available as a separate individual product for sale or something unique to you guys ? Really great idea!
Those are our: 3in1 stashable overhead storage bags. They are now available for sale. Reach out to us direct & we can help you out. Eventually they'll end for sale on our new parts website that is under development.
WOW
You are on my list
?will you convert other chassis?
We build a Sprinter AWD version.
Can you explain how you're able to get 6000 watts of power to recharge the batteries? The Biggest DC-DC charger I've seen is 60a.
I could tell you, but then I'd be revealing some of our trade secrets. 🤐
48v alternator at 150a
Y'all are crushing it! Amazing job 👏
When are you coming out with a Prius model?
🤣😂
Amazing conversation for sure! I am particularly interested to know where to buy that stowaway double seat with seatbelt. Is there a link? Thanks.
We are working on our e-commerce parts & service website now… but you can buy one now, by reaching out to us via email.
Inexperience video guy, all numbers when owner explained were blurred , 😅
Sorry for that. Not sure what numbers you are referring to, though. Can you be specific and we can most likely get you that info. 😊
What about Heat?
The heater is a 2 in 1 air & water heater that runs off the gas tank. 17k BTU of heat.
You never mentioned a toilet😢
Portable toilet storage compartment is located near the door, so when it's time to empty you don't have to drag it across the van.
Got here from@CaseyLaDelle channel. Hadn't seen your vans before. These look great, and so much better built than what you see on RV lots.
🤜 Thanks @sheldongoff6354
Pretty awesome. I need one
This is amazing!!
Why not solar panels
Hey Rita,
We include solar panels on the GoTerra (standard). We are working on an optional solar addon for the GOA/T too.
The why is 2 fold:
1. Not everyone uses their van the same, and with how fast the batteries charge off our high output secondary alternator, solar isn't necessary for everyone.
2. It's not simple to add solar. The difficulty comes in having a higher voltage system (Like the GOA/T). Solar panels with lower voltage can't be connected efficiently.
@@GritOverland interesting, did not know that.
@@GritOverland I don't understand #2. You said the AC runs at 12v, are you running 24v or 48v batteries and converting it down to 12v for the AC? Victron makes smart solar MPPT controllers for 12, 24 or 48 volt systems so I don't see why it would be a problem.
#1 point is very valid though. Most of our regen comes from driving and the DC to DC charger.

What does “factory bulkhead” refer to?
We're referring to the cab area. Specifically, the factory installed ceiling & shelf that we pull down... to sound deaden & insulate behind.
@@GritOverland That’s what I assumed but it was definitely not made clear. I would not call that a bulkhead any more than I would call the cockpit in an airplane a bulkhead. I’d probably call this a cockpit
@@GOLDVIOLINbowofdeath You'd be wrong, though.
Your blanket condemnation of all cabinets that don’t have a welded aluminum frame is absurd. Two words. Spruce Goose. Welded aluminum tubing is very brittle and prone to fracture. See how easy it is to have a blanket condemnation. Is your bed frame welded aluminum?
Hey mark, thanks for your comment.
Yes the bed frame is welded aluminum.
Our intention with the cabinet section of this video, is to describe the difference in how/why we use aluminum as a base structure. We didn't always use welded aluminum. We changed to welded aluminum cabinet structure, based on our experience building & warrantying adventure vans. In our experience; they end up being quieter, lighter, & stronger than the other, more traditional, methods we've used in the past.
If you know of better methods, we'd love to learn more. We strive to embrace the idea of CANI (constant & never-ending improvement).
@@GritOverland We find that folded and bolted together aluminium components with a layer of 3M VHB can't be beat. Especially when you clad in 3mm MDF and apply 3M Di-Noc to the surfaces for the finish. This way we can CAD design all sorts of cutouts in the aluminium skeleton for even more weight reduction.
Thanks @Gordz.
I like the idea of the folded CNC cutout skeleton (we've been doing something similar on a new product we're designing).
Do you use a non water absorbent MDF, or are you coating it to prevent water absorption?
This is an amazing van. I love the hidden shower. Under mounted ac is best way to go,both saves alot of space.
