I passed by Manchester Airport a couple of months back. Yes you are right.. Rail strikes! I was badly affected. The Airport is really nice, much easier than LHR. Unfortunantely no direct flights from my country. train looks packed. Yes the video is useful.

These videos are very cool Paul, im so impressed with how cool and collected you are whilst filming these! I’m surprised they let you film as long as you did through border control, id have been taken to one side im sure! The sky link walkway is very cool. Anytime day single is a great tip. A surprisingly hermit friendly journey and incredibly useful! 👍
Well hopefully it proves useful to people flying into Manchester. I think the train is a great option and very cheap compared with most others. I'd just made my way in to border control when I switched off. It was then like queuing for a ride at Alton Towers with all the switch backs. I always like to have my ticket sorted as when you land you just want to get home, well I do anyway. The train was very hermit friendly until Manchester Piccadilly when it went to standing room only. Thanks for watching. The good stuff will be coming out early in the New Year. Well what i think is the good stuff but whether YT thinks that is another matter. Have a great Christmas 🙂👍Paul

Hi Donna, It's good to take a break from time to time, it can get a bit overwhelming at times. My videos should always look better on the big screen as I film in 4k so high res. With regards my recent videos I've been treading water a bit with the run up to Christmas. Hi Sue, you're better getting off at Manchester Piccadilly for Denton. Tho it looks like you would then need to catch the 201 bus from there. Hope that helps, Paul
Hi, good question. You should be able to buy a SIM from WH Smiths which you can see just to my left as I exit customs at around 5:40 on the video. Also the Spar shop at 6:05 in the video will also sell you a SIM. Hope that helps, Paul
There was a short delay going thro border control of about 15 minutes but everything else was quick. Tho on this occasion I wasn't picking up luggage as I was carrying hand luggage only. So from plane to train it was about 45 minutes.
On this occasion it was pretty quick. I'd say around 15-20 minutes. That was also the same on a subsequent flight I took a month or so later. So I'd say pretty smooth 🙂
Hello, for an anytime ticket you need to install the Northern Railway app (link in the video description). From there enter from Manchester Airport and to your destination along with the date of your travel. This will give you a number of trains, click on one of those trains and the anytime ticket will be then given as one of the options. I hope that helps.

Hi, good question. You should be able to buy a SIM from WH Smiths which you can see just to my left as I exit customs at around 5:40 on the video. Also the Spar shop at 6:05 in the video will also sell you a SIM. Hope that helps, Paul

Approx how long did it take you to get through customs etc to the train station?
There was a short delay going thro border control of about 15 minutes but everything else was quick. Tho on this occasion I wasn't picking up luggage as I was carrying hand luggage only. So from plane to train it was about 45 minutes.
How long does it take to get through passport control and customs?
On this occasion it was pretty quick. I'd say around 15-20 minutes. That was also the same on a subsequent flight I took a month or so later. So I'd say pretty smooth 🙂

Where can I buy anytime ticket ? Not found in the app trainline 😢
Hello, for an anytime ticket you need to install the Northern Railway app (link in the video description). From there enter from Manchester Airport and to your destination along with the date of your travel. This will give you a number of trains, click on one of those trains and the anytime ticket will be then given as one of the options. I hope that helps.
