A major flaw/cover up on the F-15 was discovered by the USAF in the early 80's. This was about the P&W F-100 engines. Early in the F-15 service, adjustments were made. Not all were clearly explained by Whoever. A ACMI range is off the coast in the Norfolk, Va. area. Langley F-15's (4) were to do ACM with 4 F-4E's from Seymour-Johnson NC. As the A/C met at the ACMI Range, they were told that the computer for such died, and the exercise was cancelled. Being miffed by this, one F-4 driver suggested they have a Drag Race. Why not? Line abreast, 600 kts on your mark, go. The F-15's immediately shot ahead, as expected. They got so far ahead they could barely see the F-4's in the rear mirror. Then the Phantom's got larger. And then they shot by the F-15's! That should not have been the case. P&W was toying with settings to satisfy reliability issues. At the expense of peak power. Heads rolled at P&W if I recall. Then GE introduced the F-110 to the fleet while P&W got it's stuff together.
Tony . your comparing apples to oranges here, the a10 was designed to be a tank killer, a in your face kind of killer, it could take a lot of ground fire and still survive, the F35 on the other hand would kill you 100s miles away where it would be safe, you wouldnt know it until the missile hit you in the face

I was a F15k weapon loader. That's what exactly did in Korean Airforce.
AMAZING!!
What kind of ammo is that on the belts?
Blue tip denotes inert, just a chunk of steel with copper driving bands to give it spin.
@@pete7413 Blue tip is training, they still fire its just hunk of metal. F-15s standards are HEI rounds, hot and explosive.
@@gutsberserk2718The color is Sax Blue to be precise, I loaded countless rounds to F/A-18 Hornets 😊
@@pete7413 I loaded countless rounds on A-10, F-15 and F-16 for 14 years total some years being the exact spot this was filmed. I can even name some of those people, I worked with them. Not once did anyone say sax blue during my time, maybe that is just Navy/Marine branch terminology.
RAAF. Our publications and training described the colors of various ordnance. I believe those colors are standardized across NATO and its allies.
I'm glad i don't have to wait as long in Arma.
nice one
@3:00 us that a big middle next to the small one with the paper on it
Thats a fuel tank
That's a external Fuel tank, it's not a Missile, it way to big, and not a bomb, if a bomb is that big it's a nuclear bomb
maria elma sy
A human need only one gram gun powder while every cuntary made tans and alot gunpawder . And made so overweight misiles.hahaha
*See's all the Russian comments on here.
Is it a good idea to have a video like this available to the public lol
thank you
that rounds seems expensive. anyone know the price of each round in the beginning of the video?
if your talking about the 20mm those are training rounds (hence the blue color) no idea how much they cost but not as much as live ones im sure
About $27 last time I checked
I want one of those blue head bullets
Is being a weapons loader a specialization, like a actual job where you don't have other duties?
Adam Anderson Thanks for the reply!
@@johnsterling6659 Thanks. So is the getting drunk just to help you through the day mentally or...?
@@johnsterling6659 I appreciate that clarification and I also appreciate you providing so much detail about your experience.
Nice toy...thanks for sharing.
what job is it ?
Aircraft Armament- 2W1X1
Air wrench rotation make a friction damage from 9:45
That's a lot of F-15s ....its so hard to prep ammo,missiles...😮
It's surprises me that loading takes such a manual effort. Seems like WW2 !! All the technology is there, so why not designing something so you can simply replace some kinda cassette with bullets ? Would be much faster. And during conflict, time is an important matter.
It's not uncommon for these aircrafts to be as old, if not older, as the pilots who flies them.
Wonder if they ever drop one
I've seen plenty hit the ground
Mason Meeks It's not armed, it won't explode.
Jack Graybird thanks
even if it wont explode, you need to arm it then it needs to be launched, there is lots of safety systems in place
its nice to be pilot, fly jets, training using live bombs n missile, bomb enemy that you dnt need to worry cus they cannot hit u back and retire with bundles of medal n money.. 20yrs from now fight with enemy jet n life is too short already by then
ho ho ho
awis kwan Well you could do 20 years in the air force and then retire with government paychecks still coming for years or you could work 40+ years at civilian jobs before retirement. Pay in the air force is quite respectable as well for when you are working there.
Whats the meaning of belt colours?
Flanking for defense preparation... is it?....
oh my god.. too much hard work..
Честно говоря так себе, очень много сложных ручных операций. На внутренние АПУ ракету тащат и подвешивают на руках. Заряжание пушки вообще жесть, видно что усилие на крутилке очень большое, а держать ее очень неудобно.
Logistics is all in a conflict. They should train in uniform in an environment contaminated with in a war.
good idea.
True.

What happens if one falls and the missile head hits concrete!!
Well then it’s not your problem anymore 🤷🏻♂️
@@jakeclark798 "Dunno what happened sarge, I was in the shitter when it dropped on the ground".
A long and painful investigation as you await your fate.
are very nice defend
Each missile cost more than my house
Good america 's army and idea
It sucks to see them moving around those missiles with the driver having to beat on it to go into reverse sad to see so sad to see
that's just the operator being stupid and abusing the equipment, I used to work on those and there is no reason to pound on the selector lever like that
ok TY for the info!!!! Then that's good to hear. It just looks like it needed to be repaired is all
granted that slot of the weapons loaders are 40+ years old, they are solid built and well maintained. While I'm not sure about this base, the places I have been to have nuclear surety inspections and the AGE equipment must be in perfect working order and certified to be so. it's a lot of work and I took pride in what I did and am a little defensive about it
I understand how you feel and TY for what you did 100%
I was talking about the missile carrier that dude was knocking the lever downin rev like it wasn't working right not where the were loading the bullets. Still good info though
yeah, that's some of the stuff I maintained- MHU's and j1's that loads bombs and missiles. it's basically a low profile forklift. and there is an attachment you can mount to the table to turn it into a forklift
God bless this brave man and women's on the ground an air always brave yes
That much time and effort for one fighter to he ready!? Wow
Faut pas être pressé. En temps de guerre les mecs auraient 50 fois le temps de se faire bombarder avant-même que leurs avions soient armés :D :D
loading arms for seriyan kids . shame on you .
