Jealousy is the only feeling where not the person who gets affected by it are we ourselves. We let that ignite or spark grow into a big tree of jealousy, agony, anger towards that human, thing & it can be literally anything. Desires make or break. Happy to see that tech guy made a video on this. Loved this piece.
It doesn't just have to be that. If jealousy lets me get an object then I will be jealous. Why would I not be? After all I'm just as good as the other person, and he just happened to be lucky. Philosophies like these are only good for story telling and would fail practical purposes. If there's no real meaning behind any philosophy we are just coping.

Some drawback in the philosophy (*i feel): 1. Reducing complex phenomena of violence, societal conflicts and religion to just memetic desires & scapegoating mechanism. 2. Buddha scapegoat is Kingdom for Memetic Desire but also for personal enlightenment & cessation of suffering. 3. Every thing is not just the Memetic Desire: yes, dhoni six in wc11 ignites the spark for me to play cricket but it was love for the game that pushed me to still play. I no longer play for being him, I play for being ME. 4. Individuality Difference. What about Innovation. Lack Practical Solutions. Love the fact, that you generalized the mimicry of Girard's philosophy♥
Almost 30 minutes. I have no idea about how much information people retain after 30 mins but it is a great escape from the 30 to 60 second reel junk. That is the beauty of longer content. As always aevy and varun 🔥
René Girard’s mimetic theory is undeniably fascinating and offers a unique perspective on human behavior, especially in understanding conflict and societal structures. However, I feel it oversimplifies the complexity of human motivations by reducing them largely to imitation and scapegoating. While mimetic desires might explain how we are influenced by others, they cannot account for the depth of personal growth, creativity, or spiritual pursuits. Take, for example, the Buddha’s journey-it wasn’t merely about mimetic desire or rejecting what others valued. His quest was deeply personal, driven by the pursuit of enlightenment and the cessation of suffering. Similarly, in daily life, while imitation might spark an initial interest, the driving force behind sustained effort is often intrinsic. Watching Sachin’s six in WC might inspire someone to pick up cricket, but continuing to play and love the game often stems from a genuine passion, not just a desire to mimic. The theory also struggles to address individuality and innovation. How do new ideas emerge if all desires are borrowed? Think of groundbreaking inventions like the light bulb or the internet-these weren’t just imitations but bold steps into the unknown. Mimetic theory, while insightful, seems to focus more on why we want what others have and less on how we create something entirely new. Finally, its practical applicability feels limited. It’s excellent for explaining why we might desire what others desire, but how does it help us navigate the modern challenges of fostering individuality, solving conflicts, or encouraging innovation? I think human behavior is a mix of mimetic tendencies, intrinsic curiosity, and a deep yearning for meaning-something no single theory can fully explain.
Man's quest for personal identity is in conflict with the harmony of the world. The same cycle repeating endlessly with seemingly no end. He wants connection yet can't commit out of fear of his own nature of infinity. So, a shared framework is what he hates but is eventually pigeonholed into. Great video Varun you've captured the essence of what's seemingly permanent but lasts very temporary. Your point of it being not about the object but the person's obstacle also makes us not see the origin of how things are made and that leads to Winner takes all and an extractive approach. Scapegoating also makes sense why cringe content is working and being watched by people even though they are so not like them. So given all the bodies of knowledge he is never able to make peace with the alien something that is outside the bounds of his knowledge. I hope this comment did justice and kept people longer in the video. Thank you for reading!!

What if we make a country run like a Corporate? (Hypothesis) I have noticed that no one in a political party is generally held accountable for the promises they break (the promises they only made to gather votes and compete with other parties). Political parties in a democracy compete against other parties to get the seat (even by making fake promises), whereas parties in a dictatorship regime have no competition at all (sometimes not even inside their own parties). In a company like Google, every individual is responsible. If something bad happens to the company, then Sundar Pichai will lose his job. If something bad happens in a specific department, then the department head will lose their job, and there will always be someone eagerly waiting to take over their seat. This signifies an environment of accountability, which is often missing within many political parties. If model of an MNC is implemented on a country, will it make things better? Or worse? Just like this model where: 1) CEO works like a president and will be chosen by a committee, just like in a corporate company. [They will take every step responsibly, as they can be removed for any wrong move they make, given that there are many others hungry for this position.] 2) Committee (people in this position will first join as employees, but after showing good performance and competing with others, they will reach this position). 3) Employees/Managers (will be the 3rd pillar of the structure). [Promotions will motivate them to work even better. Their ultimate goal is to become a committee member.] 4) Citizens/Shareholders (influences the actions taken by the committee). In this model: Leaders will focus on measurable goals and long-term outcomes rather than making populist promises to win votes. This reduces the risk of short-sighted policies aimed only at gaining public approval. The model will also be data-driven and motivated to maximize the profits of shareholders. Can this model work? Or will this just be a mess?

great video man, i have known this thing from like a year, and when you know this you actually are more happier and also this is the only reason i have been watching you from like 4 yrs thanks
The thing which hurts me the most is that this kind of knowledge is going to benefit a very small number of people because still people follow the beliefs than the real facts, the preconditioning of people is really hard to change as years of immature training of society cannot be changed with a logical argument. The "change" is really hard to follow up. Even I wish I didn't realized the harsh truth of life and society. Really great vedio, I wish it benefit to as many people as it can. Thanks.

That was amazing experience. When a man speaks with knowledge, the duration doesn't matter. Listeners keep consuming information. Thank you to the whole production team.
there are very rare info/philosophical videos that you would revisit every certain time. this is one of it’s kind. humbles/slows down. and let’s not go to editing stuff. top 0.1%
You used to talk philosophy and science in trifecta of reality, then it stopped and i only saw your content about AI and tech, it's good to finally see you talking philosophy again.
The video editing on this is at a completly different level even for Avey/ Varun's standards, he is taking video production to a different level using technology!!! This increases audience retention, this just felt like watching Vsauce documetary
After watching the whole video, I remember SRK said, "First become the rich, then the philosopher ".. I really don't know why this thought popped up my mind... But amazing informative video🎉🎉❤
Awesome video. I think, however, personally, there is one more factor that matters here - the desire to be remembered. I don't think this particular desire stems from what other people want - but it's something we end up wanting naturally. Social validation and such certainly plays a hand in many of our desires...............but underlying just as many of them is a desire for as many people to remember you (hopefully, positively) after you're no more. This makes it really hard to "detach" from our wants - especially since we can't use the "we're all gonna die someday" argument anymore....
the best thing i did was to delete social media in class 10 and till today I don't use, yes you heard it right no instagram, watsapp, snapchat, facebook, twitter nothing. although i use UA-cam for entertainment purpose or learning new things and for studies too and believe me, this was the best decision, I still don't have my personal phone rather have a pc which is for whole family use, and I don't feel fomo about anything. What matters the most for me is family and their health. but the entrance exam part was most relatable, great content loved the way you explained 😇😇
Everyone! and their grandma should watch this video. This is such a good video!! It explained human society as a whole. Why we do the things we do. It explains the past and present and also predicts the future. Thanks Varun and team for making such content accessible to us.
Finally someone did the research and spoke about it. I admit that I am jealous of some of my own friends success and always ovethink if i did something wrong. Most of the time, I say to myself i am dumb. And yes, validation here will calm my ego.
1. THE ANIMATION AT THE START WAS CEAZY GOOD. 2. Yes, as someone who grew up isolated I was unaware of the concept of desire. i never felt the need to stylize myself even. I am still coming to terms with it, like how people judge me by shoes etc. (always wore sandals because functional) and only after buying shoes did I realise how it changes people perceiving you. 3. i think you can think about this as well. More than actually belonging to the group, often we want others to THINk we belong to that group as well, because otherwise the remainder won't respect you. Every man wants to be respected. (You could put the you just have to be a good person to be respected argument but let's be honest genz doesn't think that way ) 3. This is the first time on UA-cam I have seen someone say its the philosophical values that matter and not the story itself wrt to religion. It made me go "omg finally" moment :p 4. Your channel always shows imagery during the dialogue, but this time the amount of imagery, their consitent quality and the creativity/prompting behind them was a different level 5. Also the fit rocks . A longer beard and you could pass up as a spiritual guru for the genz
This is hands down one of the best videos on philosophy that I’ve come across. I’ve taken a lot away from this. This is a video most of our society needs to see and heal themselves. This is all about how we have been socially programmed. Once we realise why that is, something magical happens. We gain the ability to correct ourselves and our thought process. I love your ai videos Varun. But you definitely need to do more videos on the human condition.
When ever you start your day, tell yourself i am not here to prove myself before somebody. I want to make myself happy. Do that for 1 month and slowly you will know yourself and find your IKIGAI
that was awesome man... literally speech less, thanks to letting us know about René Girard, straight to his book... i would never ever guised the existence of a research in desires and its influences on our society, thank again man, i actually came here after aevy tv post on their channel (i promise that i already subscribed this channel before) and realized that i didn't enable the notification, now i do, im expecting different kind of contents like this on internet and this channel, so have a great time..
Watched all the way for 30 minutes and you just opened up a lot of things. Understanding the philosophy of Desire, Life, Religion and Society was not less than completing a book. A lot more to mention, but my brain is still processing the stuff you just mentioned😂 Thank you!😊
Amazing! There are only a few pieces of content on social media that truly leave you with a sense of wonder and amazement. The fact that something so complicated is explained in such simple words is truly commendable, and the editing takes it to a whole different level. I hope to see more content like this!
You are providing outstanding content for educating people. This approach is much more beneficial than simply focusing on one narrow aspect. Thank you Varun !

I never comment on any video , but this was something else !!! Something that I keeps on reading philosophy for. Hope to see more video like this.
I don't want a supercar for the sake of validation or to mimic somebody else,
I want a supercar because I like it.
I want a supercar because I want to experience what V8 with 600 break horsepowers feels like when that engine roar.
What if we make a country run like a Corporate? (Hypothesis)
I have noticed that no one in a political party is generally held accountable for the promises they break (the promises they only made to gather votes and compete with other parties).
Or worse?
Just like this model where:
1) CEO works like a president and will be chosen by a committee, just like in a corporate company. [They will take every step responsibly, as they can be removed for any wrong move they make, given that there are many others hungry for this position.]
2) Committee (people in this position will first join as employees, but after showing good performance and competing with others, they will reach this position).
3) Employees/Managers (will be the 3rd pillar of the structure). [Promotions will motivate them to work even better. Their ultimate goal is to become a committee member.]
4) Citizens/Shareholders (influences the actions taken by the committee).
In this model:
Leaders will focus on measurable goals and long-term outcomes rather than making populist promises to win votes. This reduces the risk of short-sighted policies aimed only at gaining public approval.
The model will also be data-driven and motivated to maximize the profits of shareholders.
Can this model work? Or will this just be a mess?
The Explanation, The Cinematography, The Editing, The "Desire" ; everything was on point. Great Work
don't keep white background, its pain to our eyes and we can adjust brightness every scene @0:16
I disagree. Not everyone watches UA-cam at night with lights off
It's the creator's choice how their content should be viewed.
You want a dark background with light content.
Finally , i've found the best part of UA-cam, You're videos are straight to the point, I like it
whenever you feel jealous just ask yourself : Does It even matter ? we all will die eventually jealousy brings no good
Best Video watched in last couple of years...Editing team need a raise
Damnnn!! First 30 seconds into the video and I see Varun with beard (Baba vibe) in philosophical topic with kick ass animation and production quality, I am already sold ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
They way he explained the religion is too good, I hope this is eye opening for believers
cannot believe such a beautiful and well put out thought is available for free hats off man great video and editing , you are using ai to next level
Man! The wording, the energy, the editing - what I should other than I'm amazed, beautiful, astonishing, speechless, crazy and multiple other good things...

Your updates on new tech are always so impressive!
I really appreciate how quickly you bring the latest trends and innovations to your audience, but this one is definitely the out of the box.
The way you summarize and explain complex topics is so helpful. Keep up the great work!

This video explains about the darker side of humans in such a simple and amazing way, I think every single person who uses social media should once watch this and reflect on this because this video is really the medicine for peace and better mental health
Hey varun use 2:1 aspect ratio. Would be much sexier. Would cover full screen and no black box around. And it gives the cinematic vibe
Works well for laptop tv phone all screens
Bhai yahi baat original comment may complete kar sakte thay so why doing it in reply section ? Whatever the reason maybe but it is aatmanirbhar act for sure 😂
Love how the video used the right motion graphics in such apt places, just the right type and amount of stock footage and ai visuals in others. This one is just top notch editing. It's a cinematic experience just watching the video.
8:18 now i know why everyone fights when they goes into Big boss
As 22 years old, this video is gold mine. Great video, Varun Sir.
This really did burst my bubble.
finish it, you’ll like the ending
Dude commented like after 17 minutes into the video
this video, insane. i just appreciate how varun(probably his team too) knows so much about all these.
they go so wide to get a to very specific point. love it.
14:50 It reminds me the Code geass Story.
great video man, i have known this thing from like a year, and when you know this you actually are more happier and also
this is the only reason i have been watching you from like 4 yrs
thanks
I watch lot of youtube, various content creators from across the world and yours video depiction and video editing in Top! Easily one of the best
This has almost opened my eyes, thanks Varun bhaiya for this wonderful video ❤
that makes me think -> how do we then actually know what we truly desire that is authentic and real.
Thanks.
King Varun🔥♥
No exaggeration
Seeking Social validation is the worst we can seek for
after watching the video this will come out from the bottom of my heart as this gives me a sense of peace now.... I love you man!
hey hardly ive seen anyone on youtube can deliver such a subtle and cent percent accurate wisdom effortlessly, just found you both yours and your wife's video are knowledgeable and i am always amazed whenever i see them everytime it provokes new thoughts in my brain and gives a new sight on things and circumstances. truly satisying my intellectual desires. spotless and pure.
your way of thinking, interpretation and articulaing them is so good. peak quality. good to hear this from you.
And now we will be changing our desires by watching this video...... Our mind is crazy
so true, it can be influenced so easily
Following u for more than 2 years now, hands down one of the best videos u've made
Seriously I am starting to love your videos. I was once criticizing your videos (not in comments). But now everything seems to make sense. Great eye opening video.
I always love a philosophical Varun Mayya video. Apart from a few small stuffs like "the reason'" instead of "a reason", I loved this video.
the best thing i did was to delete social media in class 10 and till today I don't use, yes you heard it right no instagram, watsapp, snapchat, facebook, twitter nothing. although i use UA-cam for entertainment purpose or learning new things and for studies too and believe me, this was the best decision, I still don't have my personal phone rather have a pc which is for whole family use, and I don't feel fomo about anything. What matters the most for me is family and their health. but the entrance exam part was most relatable, great content loved the way you explained 😇😇
Thank you varun for reminding me the term "detachment"
Its simple , if u find it hard to be attached to smtg , try beging detached to everything else
Everyone! and their grandma should watch this video. This is such a good video!! It explained human society as a whole. Why we do the things we do. It explains the past and present and also predicts the future. Thanks Varun and team for making such content accessible to us.
Four minutes in, and i must say the production quality is absolutely insane!
Man! This video is some level! The energy, the clicks sound the editing. It’s power packed. I am glued ❤
Finally someone did the research and spoke about it. I admit that I am jealous of some of my own friends success and always ovethink if i did something wrong. Most of the time, I say to myself i am dumb. And yes, validation here will calm my ego.
Crazy storytelling and video editing! Became a bigger fan today ❤
This is possibly the best one I've seen in a while!
(You could put the you just have to be a good person to be respected argument but let's be honest genz doesn't think that way )
3. This is the first time on UA-cam I have seen someone say its the philosophical values that matter and not the story itself wrt to religion. It made me go "omg finally" moment :p
4. Your channel always shows imagery during the dialogue, but this time the amount of imagery, their consitent quality and the creativity/prompting behind them was a different level
5. Also the fit rocks . A longer beard and you could pass up as a spiritual guru for the genz
Most Important Video for this generation.
Hats off to the Varun Mayya.
Ikigai is an epic book
Would recommend everyone to read it
that was awesome man... literally speech less, thanks to letting us know about René Girard, straight to his book... i would never ever guised the existence of a research in desires and its influences on our society, thank again man, i actually came here after aevy tv post on their channel (i promise that i already subscribed this channel before) and realized that i didn't enable the notification, now i do, im expecting different kind of contents like this on internet and this channel, so have a great time..
Actually, for me, the first half was more compelling for me than the second half.
You are providing outstanding content for educating people. Helping us think from different perspectives, interpretations, insights, and through self-analysis using the best resources available allows me to gain clarity in my life. This approach is much more beneficial than simply focusing on one narrow aspect. Thank you Varun !
I really got overwhelmed by knowing so much things in less time.
Anxious for part 2😊
It is one of the best videos I've ever seen. It's just so general (when considering material objects) that it might resonate with everyone here.
This is well articulated! I was trying to figure out the pieces and this made me to feel like that doesn’t even really matter. I completely feel like a new perspective with a whole another perspective and derivative. Thank you Varun for making this video! ❤
Wow! This video is so thought provoking. I never thought of religion from this perspective.
