- Instead of just slowly driving to a show somewhere I take a beautiful 1966 Chevrolet Corvette on a spirited drive. A couple details are:
327 with side pipes
Tremec 5 - speed
fully restored
OVER 400 HP to the rear wheels
This car is fast and the exhaust sounds amazing, it is a great example of a C2 Corvette.

when I feel sad, I will come back to see and listen to this piece of art
I love the interior dash layout of the c2.😁
That's a cool car. Exactly like i would want instead of being restored to no end.....something to have fun with and DRIVE!
I love the 327 350. Great street motor. With the 5 speed OD it's also must be a pleasure to cruse on the interstates.
Man that's one beautiful 66 Corvette Stingray.
Now that is a real CORVETTE!

@@davesracingchannel9261 I can dig it! Is that your Sting Ray? That supercharger and the nice tall cam have gotta give it some major horsepower--and some pretty decent quarter-mile times. Nice!
@@galoon Its my good friend Bill Weckman's its a high 7 second car its a whole lot of fun it will just sit there and buck around which is fun to watch in its own right, Can I get ya to hook me up with a subscribe
@@davesracingchannel9261 Subscribed--thanks again for the link. Quarter-mile in the high 7s--that's one helluva mean engine! Is Bill running aviation gas in it? I'd imagine that car would just barely run on the 93 octane stuff you get at the pump. I like watching the throttle linkage behind the carburetor(s)--reminds me of 1960s rails and pro-stocks!
The midyear Corvette coupe is my favorite car ever! I would love to drive one before I did and I really enjoyed this video =======
Nice! Recognized the roads. I live in Lamar area with my 66 Corvette. Mine is Milano Maroon with tan leather. I have a couple videos on here from a couple years ago. One was running in an auto-cross at Charlotte Raceway.
That's one of my favorite color combinations.
Your videos really capture the beauty and artistry of these vehicles.
Most other video creators just wanna talk us to death with “Hey guys…I’m a dork, I’m a dork, I’m a dork” like we’re here for them 😂
Beautiful old Car...

My favourite body style is the 63-67 Stingray Coupe.
Great roads wherever this was filmed

i am 18 years old and my goal is to work all of my life for this car
The good news is, In your lifetime the value of these will drop when there are few people left who want to own them. Everyone will own self driving cars- if they own cars at all. In order to own this car today you need expendable income, storage space and knowledge of how to maintain it. Everyone down to babies in strollers knows it’s cool, but owning one is a different thing. This is not to say you should not have the goal of owning one, it’s just the reality. And when your wife says you need a self-driving mini van because you have 3 kids, you will wind up with a self-driving mini van.
400 rwhp? You wish! I have a ‘65 injected coupe. The heads have been ported, 1.6 rockers, dyno tuned, and runs 355 @ the wheels @ 7grand……..with 1 7/8” open headers. You have the stock ramshorn manifolds, and if they’re what the car came with, they’re probably the smaller 2” pipe version, which would match the low redline in your tach. Nice car though.
Is the shifter a MGW or the standard Tremec that comes with TKO600? Also curious if that's a leather stitched steering wheel & where you got it (looks wonderful). We have a Momo Retro 360mm wheel & the standard Tremec shifter (attached to proper round-shaft Hurst I got on eBay) in our '69 Z/28 which has been easy to use & quiet (doesn't transfer trans noises or rattle like some shifters do), but my all-time fave has been the MGW we had attached to a G-Force in our 500 WHP turbo S2000 (w/Cobra 8.8" IRS) for SCCA auto-x. Love the video of this Vette - my favorite body style & ergonomics.
I'm working on getting back a 65 Fuelie roadster I sold over 30 years. My biggest question on your video isn't car related but the roads and the countryside you are driving on are simply wonderful! What part of the country mite I find roads like that???
Classic Corvette with a Classic V8 side pipe roar!
You got yourself some good video that is for sure.

FUCKING MONSTER!!! OLD SEXY MONSTER! Congrats!
Gauge lens are in backwards. Should be concave not convex.
Bob Silvis u have the best c2 POV vid and ur going tho complain about gauges
Good eye.
Im not going to take credit for this but from the looks of my poetry Im aware that people do talk, Id loke to have this car but very conditioned and strong, I would like to start out with a engine that would teach me how to respect and voilate her all in one day without destroying it
You really need to put air in that tire. All of them.
a 66' with a Stinger hood?
Colorful, question, sounded like the stroke was longer than a 327?
Does it have a time machine mounted in the back?
Does it have stock 3.70 rear gears? Wondering what RPM it runs in 5th at 70-75mph
740iz06 I would have to check the build book on the gears, it runs around 2200 at 70-75
Cars Unleashed thanks would love to know the rear gear and gears of the 5 speed looking to put one in my 1967
If it has the 0.64 OD and 3.70 gears it running 75mph at 2200 rpm. (27" diameter tires).
Billy Lowe thanks!
You need an open stretch of straight road.
Wow, none of the armchair critics whining about the way you shift!!!! Amazing first for that.
ua-cam.com/video/j-aAchle3T0/v-deo.html
That accelerates really hard to be a 327
Why is there a 427 Stinger hood on a 327 engined car?
M Smith 66 Stinger should be same color as body. Sounded like a 4-speed but looked like a 5-speed shift pattern on center console.
Because it's the best-looking scooped hood design every conceived... that's why.
it's a restomod... lots of things changed in the restoration process as per the preferences of the owner... and there are thousands of mid-year Sting Rays with the big block stinger design hood... it was incredibly popular, regardless of the engine under the hood... it was the most bad-ass beautiful hood design ever.
3:38 :)
Proper
Rubber at 5:34
What she called a Chevy, was a 66 corvette……
Nowhere close to redline.
