I almost fell out. Yea him with 4 way. Camaro. Carburetor small block. Doing burn outs in school parking. Omg yes memories. 1980. Bunch of us vrooooom vroom. My dad took my 70 396 4 spd nova away for couple weeks. I left school parking lot. Side ways grabbed second. Went straight. And bamm. His friend sherif dallas County was at corner. Oh yea me Joe cool. Hot gf in suicide seat. Cold coors in between legs. Seemed good idea at the time. Yep wound up flipping that one in street race. Hot gf was on restriction ( good thing ) married hot gf. Had many cars since. Hot gf goes into labor while we are street racing. Lol. Thats another story. Open headers m&h race master slicks. 454 tunnel ram 2 4s. No hood 70 chevelle pulling into emergency with hot gf in labor. Lol. Thanks for the memories. Keep that since of old school. Cars now are just boring.

@@Whatguywhat I’m proud to say this actually isn’t my dads!! I got myself 2 jobs worked my tail off saved Christmas birthday and more. I will say this…the engine was my grandpas which he gave to me. The trans was my dads that he wasn’t using and the rear end too but everything else in between I had to work very hard for! My father when he was my age raided his dads junk pile. Now I’m doing the same thing… what actually gave me motivation was kids at school with these high dollar bmws and mustangs that mom and dad bought for them. I wanted to bring something that I built and that I worked for. In all honesty though I couldn’t of done it without my dad and my grandfather… but this is not my dads! It’s mine! Thanks for watching!

Dude, I was so excited for you while watching this, and a little classic song was going through my head from when I was graduating high school, Alice Cooper, "Schools Out for Summer......Schools out for ever!!!" All the males and some women were doing burnouts in 1968 GTO's, 426 Hemis, and all kinds of 396 Chevy Action. Plus, in the old days all the older generations would treat it as a badge of honor and celebrate with you, and so, they would watch and wave 👋 cheering you on. Also, they would share beers and cigarettes with the graduating class because it's a badge of honor into adulthood and also for celebratory purposes! Thanks for carrying the flag of tradition and having fun while doing it. Thanks.

Great video my man! You’ve obviously been raised right, lol! Glad to see your attention to safety with the jackstands and leaving the jack under the rearend, and properly torqueing the wheels…another sign you’ve been raised right. Letting the engine warm up before thrashing on it, you were raised right. And caring about your neighbors, is a sure sign you were raised right. Being respectful to the security guard, even though he wasn’t very respectful to you, another sign you were raised right. Having your cool old Camaro in the first place is dang sure a sign of good raising. The 70 Elco in your driveway looks good too, BTW. I enjoyed your video buddy. It appears things might not be too different from when I graduated in 1975 after all. Wishing you all the best for a wonderful future.

At first, I thought this was a classic video from the early 80's or something, because you were doing everything old school style and being safe, etc.
Let me tell you, we used to sit out in front of our high school back in the old day's on lunch break and do burnouts until the local cop surfaced, small rural town.
It was just tradition and the last day of school was another story, too much to get into.
The most embarrassing thing that ever happened to me at lunch hour was when I popped the clutch in my 1967 Malibu 2dr hardtop and broke the rear u joint and the driveline was spinning on the pavement and banging around under the car! So, instead of going back inside the school after lunch break, I walked to the local auto parts store, purchased a new u joint, crawled under my car and put it back together, as all my fellow classmates watched from the windows of the school.
Then, I went back to class.
    Not a word was said.
You hang in there and finish restoring that interior and making your car cherry.
    Good luck to you!
    👍👍

I love old cars and my family has always been a stock car racing family especially when it was actually road cars on track. I might have taken a different choice than they would with a 32 yr old Miata, but it's RWD, manual and handles well. My dad raced a Nova and a Camaro on dirt. His road car was an olds 442. I'm going to have to add one of them to my unhealthily growing collection at some point.

When I was young, I had a 1971 Chevelle SS. Lots of fun to drive! Seriously, you need to do a good inspection underneath once in a while. You have a lot of rust and you wouldn’t want your rear tires all of a sudden get much closer to your front ones. Try to be as safe as you can.

great video. Security was just upset that you had a nicer ride than they do. It's the last day of school and burn outs are just a rite of passage on those days. I graduated in 1981. The last day of school, I left nothing but smoke and rubber on the school drive way in my 1967 Camaro. Then I went on to be a cop for 32 years. And in that time i seen a lot of teenagers do the same thing on many last days of school. It always brought back great memories. I never messed with any of them. i just relived my teenage years through watching them.

I had the exact same response, my friend you have renewed my faith in the younger generation! I did the exact same thing back in 1982. I had a 71 Cutlass 455 SX, what a beast! Although I didn't have the balls you have to remove the exhaust completely, I had cherry bomb glass packs that were fairly loud all by themselves. And yes, mr Guilderland Town Police pulled me over right after the school entrance. And like you, I was respectful, we were like that back in the day, and he didn't give me a ticket. He essentially just said, don't be stupid, you didn't see me sitting down there? Drive safe don't make me call your parents. And that was the end of that.
Thanks for the memories my friend. I am almost 60 now, had a car accident 10 years after high school that put me in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. So please, do me a favor, be careful when you're driving. I was not messing around when I had my accident, not at all, it was someone else pulling into me forcing me off the road and a rollover. But still, today's distractions are 100x worse than when I was your age, with cell phones and all the other tech in vehicles. You seem like you have a good head on your shoulders, don't lose that love for muscle cars, but always pay attention, at least three or four cars ahead of you. Life is too short. Take care and be safe.
